19.08 - We're into the final few hours here. We don't expect Arsenal to make any further signings at this point.

16:45 - We're hearing its unlikely Gabriel Martinelli's move will be confirmed today. The Saudi transfer window remains open for another six weeks and Al Hilal are playing later this evening.

16:15 - Second tier German side Bochum have announced they are signing ex-Gunner Charlie Patino on loan from Deportivo La Coruna.

15:45 - Barring any surprises, Mikel Arteta will have a 23-man first-team squad this season, plus Marli Salmon and Max Dowman.

This is assuming Gabriel Martinelli joins Al Hilal and Tommy Setford and Ethan Nwaneri complete loan moves.

14.15 - According to someone who goes by the name of 'Gunnerblog', young goalkeeper Tommy Setford could join League One side Stevenage on loan.

Handy location for him in fairness, if not quite as sunny as Las Palmas with who he was linked with previously.

13:51 - 32 goals in 123 appearances doesn’t really tell the whole story when it comes to Jesus' contribution at Arsenal. His arrival alongside Oleksandr Zinchenko in 2022 injected a level of belief that took the Arteta project to another level.

While it's sad to see him leave, it's great that he leaves excited about his next step. Barcelona had wanted to sign him before he moved to Manchester City all those years ago, so it's a full circle moment.

13:50 - We have confirmation of Gabriel Jesus' move to Barcelona.

A statement from Arsenal ends: "We thank Gabby for his contribution to the club during his four years with us and wish him and his family every happiness and success for the future."

13.30 - After last night's win over Raya Vallecano, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick confirmed his club were close to signing Gabriel Jesus, saying:

"I was a little surprised we had the opportunity to get him. I really love him, I like his style to play football, it fits with our style. I think he can help us a lot in the games.

"For us, he can be an important [player], so thanks to [sporting director] Deco because again he made an excellent job."

We expect confirmation of the Brazilian's move soon.

12.20 - Lyon's firesale continues. Ex-Gunner Ainsley Maitland-Niles looks set to join Everton for €5 million. He's been in France for three years since leaving Arsenal on a free transfer.

12:04 - When you've managed to buy a player you were desperate to sign for half the price of the option-to-buy clause, you can understand why there might be some nice words for our sporting director.

12:02 - Done deal. Fabio Vieira signs for Hamburg on a permanent deal, reported to be €10 million.

The Bundesliga side are clearly pleased with their purchase.

11:56 - Hamburg have teased Fabio Vieira's return via their social channels, so it looks like the first deal of the day is close.

11:53 - Still no sign of any deal confirmations. BBC Sport's Sami Mokbel says Tommy Setford's proposed move to Palma has fallen through, but that he has other options.

10.55 - We look forward to Fofana scoring against us on 12 September at the Stadium of Light.

10.49 - An interesting development that makes you question whether Arsenal will make a signing today. The Athletic report that Lyon's Malick Fofana is heading to Sunderland. He was offered to the Gunners, but it looks like we've passed up the opportunity.

10.00 - Arsenal could be set for more cash from a sell-on clause. Hull City are set to sign ex-Gunner Brooke Norton-Cuffy from Genoa. He moved to Italy two years ago for €2 million.

08.43 - Everton's push to sign Folarin Balogun from Monaco could net Arsenal a tidy windfall. The Gunners have a 17.5% sell-on clause and the Toffees are reportedly close to a £40 million deal.

That would be £7 million in our pockets.
