They could have only expanded by going downwards and the nimbys who live round there would've complained anyway. Also they might not have been able to expand laterally underground because of the proximity of the tube and the actual above ground railway as well as high-rise buildings with all their concomitant underpins and isn't there a river round there too or have I imagined that ?

Yup. Wenger is a bit of a "tragic hero" in that respect. But it's incredibly vindicating for him to have signed Mikel, who captained that squad to 3 FA Cup wins (and our first trophies post-stadium move), only for that captain to ultimately succeed him as manager and win the league (post-stadium debt repayment). You can see him smiling internally while those wankers are questioning him.

Wenger did stay several seasons too long, but he'd be even more vindicated (with not achieving the full complement of trophies he might've, had he not had to operate within those tight financial restrictions), if Mikel builds a dynasty of success. 🤞🏼💪🏼

I can only imagine how galling it was for him to have put in all that effort and grief and finally get there only to find clubs skirting that effort entirely. financial doping indeed.

This is one of the reasons I am so happy we beat ¢heaty before any points deductions, etc... to vindicate what the club stood and stands for when it dismantled the Invincibles and funded the new stadium. We built on those foundations to be able to compete at the very highest echelons, on our financial steam. ❤️

Incidentally that chart of the hidden payments vs real commercial payments is hilarious. The question about whether ¢115eh suddenly went straight since 2018 that chart makes it look like such an absurd suggestion.

What worries me is where he said a state could legitimately fund a company to do exactly what ¢114eh did and it would be fine. 🤨 If true, that part is shocking and seems like it could open the door to a lot of horrible things in the future.

Konsa and Saka start for England. Eze and MLS on the bench.

Game kicks off at 5pm.

Saka's Nations League sojourn seems to be the opposite of Gyok's, in that he seems to have been playing himself out of form. Shame they can't just give him a break. In this match too - playing in front of an audience of 500 children and 200 England fans.

Arse!

Just came on here to say that I've just finished listening to the Latte Firm podcast featuring The Magic Hat (Arsenal-supporting guy on Twitter who has been following the C114y case from the beginning) and it's a really good listen. The best one I've heard about all the Sham stuff, in fact (sorry Blogs!) It's on YouTube and Spotify.

My kitchen appliances, all Zanussi, are still going strong after c.20 years, and my Samsung washing machine after 12+ years.

Heh, I remember the model well as it came out when Paddy was at his arsenal peak.

All this talk of shoddy appliances makes me grateful for the set I have. Maytag dishwasher, Frigidaire washer/dryer and fridge, all house originals, must be 20 years old at least

Saha left , Dowman right wing , with noni as well.
No suggesting max for 90 minutes.

I saw a video on YouTube, for what it's worth, suggesting that all the traditional washing machine brands, Hotpoint, Indesit, Whirlpool, etc., have been bought out by Candy, which has also been bought out by dodgy money men. All the washing machines are made by the same factory in China and deliberately engineered not to last much over 5 years. The exceptions, they said, are Miele and Bosch which are made in Germany but cost twice as much. Of course, this could all be nonsense, I don't believe everything I see online.
