And in other news, Glasner noted that Eze was "right" choosing Arsenal rather than "another club" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Maguire has "been left shocked and gutted" at his exclusion from England's World Cup squad and observed that he was "confident [he] could have played a major part" in the World Cup.
FFS, on what planet was he on when assessing his chances of inclusion.
A very average player who would veryikely be quickly found our in the tournament.
Posted on the wrong column originally!
I've been lucky enough to witness a few league title wins - 1971 ( I was quite young), 1989 - I cheered Michael Thomas's goal so loud that my (now ex-wife) cursed me as she dropped the iron on the lounge carpet.
1998, 2002, 2004. All great achievements, but I've never been as nervous, game after game, as this season. I was born in Highgate and was a season ticket-holder, as a teenager (thorough my Dad's friend) in the fallow years in the 1970's, but now a fan via TV and watch every match and moment.
I watched the Man City game last night. Frankly Bournemouth should have won. Brooks missed two glorious chances before City scored, but in the end they did what we needed.
Proud of the squad and manager, but also just a little relieved.
Does anyone remember who the other managerial candidates were when Arteta finally got the job? Just curious. We're so so lucky to have him.
The weight and pain of 22 years of not winning the league finally shed...
Exactly this
Pity, but it had to be that day I guess.
I’ll still be on my way back from Budapest with my gf (or fiancé 🙄😬)
Pop the question, regardless of the result!
How much alcohol have the players consumed since Tuesday night?
I'm thinking not a lot...
Morning all. Went out with family last night and it sounds as if we’ll be at the “parade” en masse on the 31st

I think it's safe to say this is more or less the case for the majority of Gooners worldwide

Isn't a great feeling? I think I read one of your posts yesterday malaise, where you said you finally burst into tears watching the Arsene video. I had a similar thing, I was in stunned silence for hours and I was thinking "what is wrong with me?". It just hadn't sunken in. And eventually all the emotions came flooding out re-watching one of the videos of the team celebrating together. I was a blubbering wreck, but in the happiest way possible.
I think I even dreamt about having a glass of wine with Big Wengz.. That's how well I slept 😅
Morning champions, I slept so peacefully last night!
I know the feeling 😁
Can’t see anything on their websites . Are they advertising on social media?
Not seen anything specific to the final, but I know that's what they do for all games, so I'm currently assuming they'd be doing the same for the final. I could be wrong of course so could be worth checking.
Morning champions, I slept so peacefully last night!
Looks like most of them like The Gunners Pub & Twelve Pins are ticketed, but on a first come first served basis, so might have to try your luck and get to one early.

Apparently we’re the first team in premier league history to go through a season without conceding a penalty or receiving a red card
This team are 'The Infallibles' (2026)
😎
No stomach churning today. I wonder why?
Haha. I’m skipping around like fuckin’ Fred Astaire 🤣
Morning Champions!
Still fucking basking.
Morning, H!
Finding it very very hard to stay 'umble.
Morning Champions!
Still fucking basking.
Fantastic! We need reminding, brick by brick, what has been leading up to this, and Amy nails it.
Arsenal Player, Captain, Manager soon to become Legend. I am sorry I ever doubted you, but so happy you have proved me wrong.
5!
And we've taken 6 off the Spuds! 🤣
5 away from City but 4 for themselves
I feel the need to reiterate how satisfying it is to see that chubby little scruffy cunt Rayan Cherki looking gutted at the final whistle
Fucking smug little wanker, perfect replacement for that utter twat Bernardo
People forgetting Mourinho. Klopp was nowhere near as bad as that cunt.
I do.
The fucking gurning cunt!
Hahaha my man
A mate of mine recently said that Klopp was the biggest bully since Ferguson. And he's completely neutral as his teams in the championship
What comparisons are those? I don't think they are at all alike.
And I never hated Klopp either.
I do.
The fucking gurning cunt!

probably worried Arteta will eclipse Klopp. Win the Champions League and get a second league title and job done.
What comparisons are those? I don't think they are at all alike.
And I never hated Klopp either.
Just that Arteta will have the same number of PL titles as Klopp
They're also terrified of Klopp comparisons
What comparisons are those? I don't think they are at all alike.

Yep, as suspected, it's pure jealousy, especially when you factor in how handsome Arteta is and with such a good head of hair when they have that fat bald Slot.
They're also terrified of Klopp comparisons
It's also not just spunking 430 mil
They broke the transfer record twice in the same fucking window
Yes mate they're fucking total weirdos most of them.

Asked a pool mate of mine who is a proper decent guy, why they hate Arteta so much. He said some of it is down to the cringey stuff, some because he played for Everton and also because he has made us good and it's not a free 3 points any more for them.
They didn't give a fuck about Arteta when we were finishing 5th and 8th. They didn't like how we became the main challengers to man city, as they can't stand when it's not all about them.
At the cost of the taxpayers!
Sadly standard procedure in the USA.
All a team has to do is threaten to leave town and taxpayers foot the bill for a new stadium
Still seems incomprehensible that they took 4 points off them
5!
And we've taken 6 off the Spuds! 🤣
At the cost of the taxpayers!
just wait until you're all paying for United's stadium too. 😬
Apparently we’re the first team in premier league history to go through a season without conceding a penalty or receiving a red card
Still have Sunday to go first...
They made a massive mistake signing on to play in London Stadium for starters
At the cost of the taxpayers!
It's great isn't it? We win the league because the Spuds took 5 points away from C115y. It would be even better if they go down! 😆😆😆
that's 13% of their entire points haul, ha ha.
How could I forget my special shout out?
Patrice Evra! Fuck off you cunt!
Agree
Universe finally trying to balance what was a scale very very heavily tilted the other way?
Of course part of the reason we aren't giving away pens is opponents don't spend much time in our box.
So true, they rarely get close to the box.
Especially as we took 6 points off the Spuds. So much joy if they pay a hefty price.
One fluke of a goal and they reckoned Solanke was a world beater. Another waste of money
It is quite incredible, No reds, no pens. I guess Xhaka left. Heh.

I don’t remember coughing up a pen apart from in the CL. Similarly I don’t recall us getting a red card. The most recent i think was MLS and that was last season
I'm so glad Kai's "hold my beer" moment against Burnley didn't ruin it.

Sky have all the games on Sunday. I think I’ll have ours on the TV and Spammers and the Spuds game on our two iPads
not a draw a 2-1 defeat. Thank you Spuddies.

A fucking imbecile. Speaks volumes that a large proportion of the population fell for his studied mannerisms and public school confidence bullshit.

Hinciape gives me Michael Jordon vibes with that bottle, like when MJ got upset because the guy didn't say hello to him in the restaurant and used it against him.
Weren't the Spammers in relatively good shape when Rice left them?
It's not his fault they have collapsed in his absence, and it's not like he left for free; they got a good chunk of money.
We got him at half price 😉 that must be why they're pissed
Yeah they spent it on thingy and the other bloke
Who needs generative AI when we have Salaar.

Probably old-school art deco AC logo with the ball.
I can see her now chanting "Up the Arse" in the North Bank.
Hahaha! Oh my god.
This is so deliciously weird, normally looking at these others having fun and wondering where's ours?
Aw Dracule is hugging. He doesn't just want your blood

Happy he didn't do the obvious thing and pick Manure or Liverpool, as many kids of that era, especially around me, did.

agreed, let minnows have their day in the sun once in a while.
clubs like Palace would never have a shot at any kind of European glory otherwise but here they are with a shot.
This is also true
Fucking Spammers..
Any decent fanbase would not begrudge a player moving on to a bigger and better club but there you go.
but yeah, this. I can't imagine booing a player who took us basically as high as we could realistically go.
Yeah, I don't think it's plastic, think he's genuine.

That's precisely the reason why he picked Villa.
It's quite fun giving everyone a go but there was something ludicrously pure about the old European Cup...
I agree Sal, maybe extend to winners and the runners up, but UEFA want their 'superleague"
I don't mind the conference league
Before we got Rice, I remember watching west ham win it and being delighted for them and Moyesy
Then they went all weird and bitter when Rice left

Question - anyone got any names of attacking coaches Arteta could recruit for next season? Fabrega, Hleb, Rosicky, Diaby...to bring that silky one touch, pass and move triangles football back? Eze and Gyok would be devastating in such a system with their shooting prowess.

Uefa needs to do something to make the Europa League and Conference League more competitive. Finals have been largely tedious.
only thing they could do is un-do what they did when they quit parachuting clubs down a level.
Why are there two lower level comps? Should be just the one IMO.

I would like Wenger to be there. After our defeat in the away game against City, he was adamant that they would drop points. I just prayed they would, but he seemed so calm and confident. So happy for him, the club and us fans.

He sure does know how to win the Europa League.... Except when it was with us.

Also what yesterday has done is given me this unbelievable confidence that we are going to thrash PSG

Does it mean CL or Europa league??
Its complicated. Something about where Villa finish in the league. I think if lower then 6 EPL teams go into CL and one Europa place is forfeited
Freiburg are a bit shit, innit?
They could be but the Prem is strong as fuck there's no two ways about that
Villa needs to finish 5th now and I believe that will get Bournemouth in the CL at 6th
❤️ thanks
I think they already have Europa
Yeah 6th is Europa so the league CL ticket goes to 6place team?? They should be greatful for us as well that’s why there are so many spots..
Freiburg are a bit shit, innit?

This team was under unbelievable pressure to succeed and you could defiinitely make the argument that nobody was under more pressure than Gyokeres. All things considered he was unflappable and scored ...
He's as sure thing as it gets for penalties
One of the best about
Does it mean CL or Europa league??
I think they already have Europa
Villa with two absolute crackers. I am happy for Bournemouth.
Does it mean CL or Europa league??
hincapie was also a bundesliga winner under Alonso, winning a title with those Bayern cunts nipping at his bare arse

Hincapie is going to be remembered in Arsenal folklore for mooning us all isn't he?
This team was under unbelievable pressure to succeed and you could defiinitely make the argument that nobody was under more pressure than Gyokeres. All things considered he was unflappable and scored some pressure penalties too.
I do genuinely believe he will improve upon his numbers next season though.
Villa with two absolute crackers. I am happy for Bournemouth.
Yes
I never rated him before his move. I didn't rate him after his move, but his output has been vital and his mentality can't be questioned.
I hope I'm eating several portions of humble pie after t...
I mean there is a problem there with the fit .. And he has the worst techies in all of Arsenal FC including Ladies and Academies .. But what he can do is absolutely awesome .. he never stops running in behind and in channels all game over and over and if he gets a shot off don’t fucking be in the line of fire .. He has shown.. his worth and is making strides.
Hus second season, I think.
Aye, I keep thinking of the lads who have won the title in their first season in England.
Gyok, Hincape, and the young Mosquera.
Calafiori too
Remember that video he did for sporting, walking down the corridor with the trophy whistling?
Need to see that with the PL trophy...
Aye, real aura
Can I be the mascot?
Y'all can call me 'Punnersaurus' as I love a good pun 😂
Approved! Still need someone to cut up the oranges and another to man the sponge and bucket.
Yeah, but my disdain for Emery is strong.
Hope he gets a pasting in Sunday, hah
Can sit here and talk about what I think about him as a player but who cares? Cause what really matters is I love him. Not many I've wanted to succeed more at Arsenal than him. Great lad.

Yeah, but my disdain for Emery is strong.
Was going to say something derogatory but Damn good strike to be honest .
Let history reflect that Gyokeres was good enough for us to win the title.
Can sit here and talk about what I think about him as a player but who cares? Cause what really matters is I love him. Not many I've wanted to succeed more at Arsenal than him. Great lad.

I never rated him before his move. I didn't rate him after his move, but his output has been vital and his mentality can't be questioned.

You saved me having to post that, including the humble pie bit I still have reservations about him but let's see what happens

I, for one, never doubted him.
Looking forward to his second season. He's going to kick on to 25 goals per season. Y'all heard it here first
I can't sleep either, KM
Glad to hear about your lovely day with your grandson!
Thanks mg, may as well get up now, i am going to be absolutely knackered...may be 'sick' on the monday after CL Final
Those would be Holstein Friesians, from northern Holland, Sal.
Ohhh yes. Sorry.

If we win the Big One, they could be printing money down at the Armoury.

Wore an arsenal shirt to work (no one noticed because they are godless heathens who know nothing about football or ANY sport)and got my liverpool son in law to put my bebe grandson in his mothers old arsenal kit from 32 years ago and take photos. Baby sat after work while my daughter went to netball training and kept singing north london forever with the lil man smiling and learning to walk...lovely day for me ...well done lads x
We must have earned a fuck ton of money this season.

He's not got many other practical options left. Make no mistake he still sits at the table of maybe 4-5 attackers.
Imagine him as our left winger?

Rumour going round that we're looking at Osimhen this summer, NB 😜

How can you not love Keown?
I remember that fucking prick from talksport Goldstein, always tried to wind Keown up.
Slagging him off for only playing 11 games or something in invincible season
The man was 38 you cunt. Elbowing van nistelrooy should have got him a fucking trophy of his own
What’s the word about Palace on Sunday. Will there be crowds outside Selhurst, or the team taking the trophy back to north London later?

I'm savouring the backarsing and it's wonderful. I wish I could reply to each one but I guess a "I ❤️you all" would have to suffice.
Hello champ

I made this comment earlier and Keown alludes to the same thought. You can criticize and discredit us all you want but there is every indication this is the most competitive PL season in history.
How can you not love Keown?
Bro how about Lescott's fake hair? lord have mercy
A face only his mother could love.
Watching YouTube program after the game yesterday with Owen, Lescott and Sherwood. I know Sherwood is an ex Spud but fair play to him he's done nothing but praise Arsenal!

LOL. I am going to have to duck out, unless I can get some very, very strong drugs. I've pulled my foreskin back too far from too much celebratory wanking.
A new Tuesday Club pod just dropped.
If that's the case I think nolagunner is for sure competing for a start at CB and at worst the starter in cup games.

I'm in a Zoom meeting but can't concentrate on this chizz as, you know, a champion. Are we having a football appreciation meeting ourselves tonight? For the Europa? I imagine it could be like "oh jolly good show McGinn, lovely Brylcreem use Unai etc"

Christ, that's the worst sort of modern 'bantz'.
Listening to the wonderful podcast, the bit about Blogs going to the Bowie exhibit on the morning of the Burnley match and being somewhat tearful... man, I try and laugh out loud and cry every friggin' day. Be it about Arsenal (just about every game), music, film, art, memories, photos, or just life in general. Tears of Joy are by far the best, mind.
Given the level of hatred Arteta attracts, it's interesting to note his total absence from any celebrations.
We all know that Maureen would have been front and centre, giving it large, and the meeja would be banging on about what a great 'character' he is.
Double standards everywhere.
Haha out of interest, who does your 'mate' support?

It was interesting to hear Andrew speak about the burden that was lifted last night, that led me to reflect on our whole community carrying the burden of a 22 year famine which is not alleviated by the number who share the burden. The relief is huge.
And thank you very much James observing the demographic mix that echoes Islington and the wider fanbase - and the club's values.
Loved the podcast. At 63 I wonder how many more titles I will celebrate. That's not said in a morbid sense, but a recognition that we shouldn't take this for granted.

Yes they did. I must admit it felt like Groundhog day again. I thought we had blown it, especially ater Bournemouth at home but we saw a change in the City game, even though we lost it showed there was the desire. As Declan said "It's Not Done". He was right. the series or 1-0 wins was quite appropriate, now that we can exhale and look back. I just hope next season, when the lads defend the title we can lose the fuckin' handbrake.

Thanks, and please hang in there. I have been stunned and horrified by events across the pond. My first job was with Motorola, based in Austin. I got to know American colleagues of all persuasions including hardcore Republicans, but one thing they had in common was how smart, knowledgeable, helpful and worldly they came across. Even they would be horrified by the turn the country has taken.

Congratulations to everyone involved with A.F.C. What a journey, especially the past three years. As a match going fan since the 1960's, I have been lucky enough to savour a good number of these days, and living in London in my formative years, have been to finals, parades, and informal spontaneous gatherings as seen last night. I will admit to a twinge of jealousy that I can't be there, but I can look forward to enjoying the pre-season friendly in Dublin early August and seeing the team then.
For those around Sunday, for the parade and the Champions league screenings.....enjoy every second!
Thanks for today's podcast Andrew and James (as always)...it brought to the surface so many emotions. Sláinte
I am particularly very happy our American Gooners today. I cannot begin to imagine what it's like to live there nowadays, although my family and friends based there have given me some insight, but this is such a lovely distraction. I sincerely hope it's brought you much joy and a break from the horrors unleashed by that despicable and unspeakable man since his return to power.

Years of hurt, pain, and coming so close. I still have that 89pts from the 2023/2024 season ingrained in my brain. All of it was released last night with tears.
Born and bred in Hackney E8 now for last 30 years in my adopted home in North Carolina. Very young in 71, got my first scar when me Dad , Uncle Bill trekked up to Hillsborough and lost to second division Sunderland in FA Cup SF in 73. Then it was years of dross, relegation scraps till 79 glory. We all know what happened next so every time a moment like this comes along you savor it, cannot take anything for granted. Congrats to you all. Enjoy it.
Now maybe the Carolina Hurricanes can lift the Stanley Cup after 4 years of nearly. Arsenal have shown the way !!

No matter where you are in the world- as Arsenal people we've all been through the wringer. We all might as well have been at Colney celebrating with the team because we know exactly how it feels.
And yes nothing but complete respect for Mikel. Rare to find somebody with this much leadership quality, technical know how and genuine love for the club. We are blessed.
Let's go get the historic double.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO US ALL!!!!
I have waited years for a "CHAMPIONS" blog from Andrew, and I must say the wait has been worth it. What a season, lads. I was one of those who thought we blew it after that Bournemouth home defeat. That game felt so similar to the Villa home game in 2024.
What a rollercoaster season. Let's enjoy!!! #COYG
I've shed tears quite a few times in the last 24 hours but when I first saw the video of players and staff celebrate at full time at Colney the emotion really hit me.
Same! Watered up a tad at them going mental, and how many (to us) randoms were amongst the throng of bodies, but who obviously are part of the inner mechanics, probably physios, Lucozade filler-uppers, kit persons etc. Everyone right in there, telling me MA has built an ego-less, united group the likes of which we've not truly had for ... 22 years!?
Also touched by the fact MA wasn't there himself, no need for any in-the-moment glory there. Let the players bask, they've earned it. A great man, honestly.
Has us singing and chanting been ok'd by Liverpool fans? I know they invented such things so it's only fair to check it's ok
Chelsea must be absolutely fuming that their 1-1 victory hasn't taken this to game week 38.
I will be in London in mid June. Shame it's a few weeks too late!

Surprised to see Utah having S*urs supporters!
It's global footprint is quite small.
Just booked my tickets to come down from Scotland for the CL final . Does anyone know what the score is with the local pubs re entry? I wonder if they’ll be selling tickets at the Tollington etc or whether it’s a case of first come first served

Same here. Has been hitting all day. Quality content keeps coming and the tears keep flowing!

Well in everyone.
Blogs said it well on the latest pod, but there is a build up of emotion that is in need of release. This blog has been the soundtrack to my life for the past 20 plus years, and it’s an emotional reminder of how much life has changed in between these titles. The arses have always been a respite of sanity amongst the bullshit noise that follows this team, and I’m grateful to you all for it.
Incidentally, did anyone else notice at the beginning of the video of the players celebrating, antsy Martinelli agonizing through the final moments of that game?
Now you know what you've been putting...
Did you also notice Hincapie was making fun of the City bottle fan?

So many Arsenal tops on display during my lunchtime walk. Then a car drove past with "North London Forever" blasting away at full volume. What a day.
I did just that and it was great! Beautifully written by Tim.
It's the best one. And exactly 20 years.

"who I’m going to have to talk to about that ‘Oh my god’"
ha ha ha, we know that feeling well. try following games on the Arses, we get that ambiguous sort of thing all the time and we hate it and love it in equal measure. 😂
The fun boat was trucking along building up momentum all season long, now it has taken off and shot to the moon.
ARSE!
bruce! (heh, of course, t'was always going to be thus)
top of the morning table toppers CHAMPIONS! (technically champions-in-waiting so we can celebrate all over again on sunday)
Thanks to the players, thank you Arteta and all the coaching staff and all the folks behind the scenes, and thanks to Blog and Friends for all you do, and thanks to all of you lovely people who make the Arsenal community so special.

I think one thing Arteta could learn from Sleegers is her involvement of the players in decision making and approach to each opposition. Almost Wenger-esque in terms of granting players leeway to solve problems but based on the solid foundation that we have.
What a day! Wearing my Arsenal shirt (as I always do) with pride today. Basking in the glow of the win. I am happy for the players, the staff, and everyone associated with the club. Very happy for all of the fans, old and new. Some nearly theres, some horrible times, and ultimately a pay off.
Enjoy your day friends!

For someone who first started going to football in London as a small child in the early/ mid 1970s we have come a long way.
Fantastic.
Brendon Batson, Chris Whyte, Paul Davis, Raphael Meade, Kelly Smith, Alex Scott, David Rocastle, Michael Thomas And all the fans who faced out discrimination take a bow.

Fuck those Scouse whingers!
Politics and History, although much less in recent years as I had climbed the greasy promotion pole to senior management. I'll miss being in the classroom but the rest I won't miss at all.
I think retiring asap is awesome, I’m practically retired now, I had a huge stroke last summer just as the season started so my chances of being able to work again are remote AF but I don’t miss coding at all and enjoy amusing myself.
Great blog today. You've done a food job at capturing what a lot of us feel.
It's been so long I had almost a sense of unreality. Plus I wasn't watching, just following along here and in the Guardian. So maybe that also contributed. I sent happy texts to friends and family right away, but it still took time to sink in.

Great post. Admiration for Eze has just risen a few percentage points.
This. I had often wondered if Arteta's training sessions were too intense, especially with the frequency of games in the run in. The lads looked gassed. I am so glad that Eze —and I am sure a few others— mentioned something to MA8 and that he had the humility to listen and also play MLS in midfield.
I’m so hung over I put my arse on Tim’s post instead.
Oh well. Fuck it we did it!

Also Peerless which is the name of my excellent bourbon that did me in last night.
Delicious

Welcome NM13! Good time to pop the Arse Cherry.
Thanks! I don't know what's going on with the Utah-Spurs connection, but I will do my best to represent the forces of light and competency.
Good man. Could be a lot of unhappy residents of Utah come this Sunday!!
Don't think in 50 + years of following Arsenal I have known a player give as much in every single game as Rice this season.
Beating heart, lungs and legs of the team.
Throw in spirit as well. AFC were going to get over the line even if it meant giving his life.
And I don't say that glibly because I saw Nigel Winterburn.
Happy unlurking day! :)
My uncle now lives in Utah (originally from London) and he just happens to be a Spurs fan - it all makes sense now!

Way back when, either 98 or 02, I hung an Arsenal scarf out of my bedroom window when we won the league. It used to annoy my QPR supporting mate who drove past my flat on his way to work. Maybe time for a reprise although I doubt the wife will be impressed when she gets home from work.

My son's heroes are Saka, Eze, and Rice, For a kid brought up in Japan, that is so formative. Today's victory will be such an important moment in his life. He's already talking about what he will say to his own kids in years to come.
Great to see a few people post who haven't before. Totally understandable. This is what winning the league means. The Arsenal family across the world. Més que un club!!!
NB it just means more
It's wild that Arteta, Iraola and Alonso were all mates as little lads.
That is quite amazing. Must be something in the water, or the wine!

Not sure whether to get him the one with Champions 26 on the back or just the normal one with Rice and the gold badge! I suppose I should ask him what he wants! :)
Good point about the name on the back. I know his answer is going to be Saka on the back.

👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 Worth 100m pounds on its own if he'd never scored a single goal for us. Something people have been pointing out forever from personal (non-football) experience - burnout is real, management is more than just pushing harder. Incredible to have it echoed by the actual professionals.
Any other kits I buy the knock off's, but Arsenal kits are always genuine.

Good job you're not a brain surgeon.
From today’s Independent
“A growing problem at that point was not just psychological, though. It was physical. Arsenal’s players looked and felt exhausted.
That was partly because of the schedule, but also Arteta’s own training demands. The Basque’s response to any setback was to work even harder on the training ground. It was an ethic that could be construed as admirable in other circumstances, but not with finely tuned athletes. The effects could be seen in the injury crises endured every April.
So, Eberechi Eze, one of the newer players who was also among the most laid-back, went up to his boss. In so many words, he told Arteta, we can do this, but we need a bit of space.
The manager listened.
Days off were increased. The intensity of training sessions was lightened. In the week before they claimed the title, he gave them three days off followed by a barbecue.
At the training ground, Arteta also insisted on “cutting out all the noise” by turning off any sports channels or news. They were replaced by music from the 90s and early 2000s – coincidentally, when they were last winning leagues.
These might sound like mundane details but they are genuinely the unseen elements that make the difference between reclaiming such titles and not.”
Not at all. The Cherries more than deserve it.

Is it weird to want Villa to win tonight just so that Bournemouth get into the CL?

That is fantastic. I am happy for you and your nephews, NB. I have vague memories of 70-'71 as I was only seven years-old and I had never watched them play in person. Dad got a new colour TV for the 12th of May F.A. Cup Final—I managed to get a match programme, it is mint. I gently look at it now and read it and I feel bloody ancient, probably because I am. LOLs.
Campeones! Campeones! Ole, Ole, ole!

I spent the evening with my 13 year old son at Highbury Shinjuku - an Arsenal dedicated pub in Tokyo. As each new Gooner walked in, we cheered and sang “Championes!” What an amazing experience for me (53) and for my boy. Greatest night of his life, he said. That’s what it means. History and memories being made. I’ve had to say to him how sorry I am over the last few years for bringing him into this because of all the disappointment. But today was the vindication. The joy and catharsis is off the charts.

Appreciate it. It's only cos I saw a couple of posts on here. Yeah, it's my reactions and that's something I keep working on. It's why I had to step back when things got so tense at the end. Everyone, including me, needed a breather from the negativity. The manager and the team did the rest (and the fans tbf, that home support against Atletico was palpable from my laptop screen, as Salaar says as well (and another mater who was there at Burnley as well) the manager addressing the crowd added something significant at the end. And we did it! Wow! We really did it!

I would love it if Ethan made it, but at the same time, I trust that Arteta is a very good judge of talent and if he decides to move him on, I believe it will be the right decision. I really didn't want ESR to go, but you can see now that it was 100% the right decision for the club.

Great blog by Tim as well
I’m so desperate he makes it here. Can’t relate to the indifference towards him at all. He’s right up there with Max and Saka as some of the most exciting attacking talent we have produced in years
This! I'm really invested in our academy players who make it to the first team and thrive. Ethan showed us what he's capable of last season, so, like you, I don't understand why some people are looking at him through the "pure profit" PSR lens. Look at the way MLS has given Arteta and us food for thought since circumstances forced the manager to play him in midfield. Ethan has a wicked turn and shot on him which only Eze and Trossard possess. Would absolutely hate, hate, hate to see him end up at Fulham then be snapped up by one of the big clubs. Ugh!
I’ve had my moan about Arteta but I was wrong haha
Sung to the tune of The Clash's "I fought the law" :-)
To have effectively guaranteed continuity and buy-in from this group of players for at least another few seasons is almost unquantifiable in significance. The club has saved itself a micro-rebuild, at a minimum.
It was searingly painful watching previous squad cycles pass without meaningful mementos of success. The days of spiteful departures and belittling from the beneficiaries can now be firmly consigned to history.
Amidst the joy I did feel a twinge of sadness Ethan missed out. Hopefully he gets his next year.

Catharsis yesterday, coronation Sunday, then a week of genuine anticipation rather than existential dread.
It has not been like this for a while. I want to float in it forever.
The sheer bile, unhinged and disgusting hatred the club and its fans have been subjected means blowback is inevitable. Quiet why we were singled out in such a thoughtless, classless and unoriginal way in terms of insults and mockery is still a mystery to me. Much like life, it time helps in terms of diminishing the visceral need to respond vehemently when derided, dismissed and treated with contempt. Today is not the day for that, and I doubt any other day will be. Life's too short, as we're seeing from testimonies of the number of loved ones who are sadly not around to share the joy with their Arsenal supporting family and friends.
Goodly morning/afternoon or whatever it is. It great to have this extremely satisfying feeling of fuck-em all, Arsenal are champions. I intend to enjoy it, good luck to all of you

Hey - my exiled-only-in-body Archway buddy,
Doubts and frustration are normal. As I said to Ollie the other night, you're sometimes like the little cartoon devil on all our shoulders, eloquently expressing all our inner fears, turmoil and anguish. But, as you know, there's always that angel on the other side...
I was very struck the other night when, after another jittery performance, MA came to address us all and thank us. We hadn't secured anything by then but it was quite a while before he was able to even speak such were the deafening encores of "We've got..." x
Is this true? If so, it's absolutely delightful.
They are both true, Lukas.

I might consider a day trip. Although I realise it needs relative sobriety on CL final night….
Think I'm going to try and fly over to London on Saturday and find a pub to watch the final, then be there for the parade on Sunday. That's the plan anyway, hopefully not too expensive.
Parade starts at 2pm on 31st.
I might consider a day trip. Although I realise it needs relative sobriety on CL final night….
I've been a massive critic of the man but:
"We've got super Mik Arteta He knows exactly what we need! Gabi at the back. Viktor in attack! Arsenal have won the Premier League!"
I wish so much that those who can proudly say that they supported Arteta throughout, despite the temptation they have to not only say "I told you so" but to really let out some vitriol at all the doubters and haters and "Arteta Outers", recognise that this is what every Arsenal fan wanted. We're not all blessed with faith, with self-assuredness. We don't all understand every facet of what it takes to win. But we all lobve this club and are all ecstatic now.
We've got rid of the rivals' "celebration police". I really hope the Arteta faithful don't start policing Arsenal fans' celebrations now, to interrogate how much they believed beforehand. I mean, I know it will happen, but I'd like to think the euphoria, which takes on a life of its own, will dilute whatever bitterness or nastiness is still looking for targets.
The celebrations have only just begun. It feels surreal in a way, because a dream has become a reality. What Arteta has done is phenomenal, not just on the football pitch and in the club with the support, but how his steadfastness withstood the immense pressure of bringing a great football club back to where it belongs. He desrves every praise for that.
I hope that's where we can all focus our joy.
Parade starts at 2pm on 31st.
See you all there ! 🥰
Parade starts at 2pm on 31st.
Thank you!
Just saw that Dowman, Nwaneri, and MLS were not born the last time we won.
Also had a bit of FOMO from Denmark. I'm trying to sort out coming over for the parade, really don't want to miss that.
Can’t beat the Euphoria of being there when it actually happens though, but hopefully that will be the case for the parade after the CL Final 🤞
I’ve had my moan about Arteta but I was wrong haha
the amount of bottles in the celebration videos is quite something
Shows you that it was in the lads heads quite a lot. Fucking balls of steel to get this over the line
But I did a good Raphael Scheidt this morning!

ARSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope our former players from the fallow years (the ones with whom there is no scorched earth) have some garlands to bring.

Is the FA Cup not a major trophy too?
After our defeat at City, Wenger came out strongly in support of the team and said City would not win all their games. How fucking right he was. Truly great and inspiring man.

Have we heard from Super Tet yet?
Exactly. What a waste of time to spend these moments trying to wind up other fans, I'm just basking in it. Could not give a single, solitary shit what fans of other clubs are up to!
But I did a good Raphael Scheidt this morning!
As I wrote early this morning in yesterday's arses:
Message to all the Celebration Police out there:
STICK THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT!!
Really cannot work.
I swear I'd have been a success if it wasn't for the arses*
I wondered if I was the only one. I thought I'd be firing a few posts to a handful of irritants, but I really can't be bothered. I'm far more interested in processing this wonderful moment and enjoyin...

I wondered if I was the only one. I thought I'd be firing a few posts to a handful of irritants, but I really can't be bothered. I'm far more interested in processing this wonderful moment and enjoying ir, because for large parts of this season I've felt a constant gnawing anxiety.
I'm just going to absorb this time, because this isn't commonplace.

That's right around when I started as well. So many memories.

Exactly 20 years later and we're lifting the first major trophy since I joined. Thanks for putting the soundtrack to a ton of mixed emotions during those 7,307 days, Arseblog. Finally – we did it! 🎯
Same here. Yesterday I used the BBC app for the first time in a while cos it was easier to get a round up of reactions, but it's been so healthy to stay away from all that shite.
Same, ducked out of all media for the last few weeks as it was getting too toxic for me.
Everything being presented purely in terms of bantz and memeification is not how I want to live.
Goodly morning, Champions.
Fetch me my bathing coaster.
Bottle.
Drink.
Don't want to stoop low, but might fulfil a childhood dream in honour of the City fan and his bottle of Arsenal water and buy a ship in a bottle.
He can come and admire it and bring Thomas Frank and his Arsenal cup along too.
Water suits cos I haven't drunk since pre Arsene. Like Franz Beckenbaer I went pro young and retired early.
Ate a lot of Haribo last night.
Massive love to all. Couldn't have survived it without you.
I've avoided all the Arsenal media stuff for weeks and weeks and only read the blog here for Arsenal content because I couldn't bare if it was all for nothing. But now I'm loving it all, I love you al...

I won't, negative energy and all that, none of them would ever hold their hand up anyway but still. We have endured a lot of unprecedented shite to get to this point , unheard of levels of #bantz but now fuck y'all, we're the champs!

I've avoided all the Arsenal media stuff for weeks and weeks and only read the blog here for Arsenal content because I couldn't bare if it was all for nothing. But now I'm loving it all, I love you all. I love Andrew for giving us this place to go and talk about Arsenal and basically hold each other when times were bad and now celebrate together as champions!
Great to see! I'm wearing my Arsenal shirt at work today, and keeping it on for all meetings.
Yes.

Also had a bit of FOMO from Denmark. I'm trying to sort out coming over for the parade, really don't want to miss that.
A mate of mine from Ireland, who I shared a house with in college, rang me at 10:45 last night to say congrats. He's not even a big football man, more into GAA. But he always remembers my passion from all those years ago and keeps an eye out for our results.
Top man Lukie.

Didn't realise the City game had kicked of at 7.30 . I checked at what I thought was half time on the BBC website and saw they were 1 down with 20 minutes to go.
Obviously if I put the game on or looked elsewhere City would score so I put the bins out, fed the cat and tidied up a bit. Had another look on the laptop and it's injury time but I don't know how much longer. Then went to log in here but then stopped myself but City scored so it was all my fault.
The just bruced the BBC scores page until it came up FT.
Phew.
🤣
I think I'll rewatch the video with Arsene in it...it's just perfect. Although surely the big man would pour a bigger glass of wine than that
Look at the glass poured and then the one in his hand. The one he's "drinking" has more in it, a poor edit.

Guys, this is superb. Mo doesn't hold back. The whole video is worth watching for the way he unloads on the City fan in a way which would make bonnie Blue and Lilly Philips wel jel.

Apparently used to be an arsenal fan
Something to consider for our title defence:
This season we have not performed well against the 2-6th places. We have lost once to each of them, and failed to beat Citeh and score against Pool.
In a season where all teams in the league are closing the competitive gap, it shows how important it is to do the job against all teams from 7-20th.
For the doubters, it’s a cliché but a league campaign is a marathon not a sprint. Hiccups happen - Wolves, Sunderland and Forest particularly come to mind.
Remember this and keep the faith. Mikel has built a team of winners, his team are consistently achieving 80+ points.
A stat worth noting:, of Fergie’s first 8 titles only twice did he get over 84 points.
This Arsenal is building something special!
I had genuinely given up hope of ever seeing us win the league again, especially after two years ago - cos that really fucking hurt!
Turns out the team had bottle
I'm not saying we won the league because of me, but I did triple captain Haaland yesterday just so he would shit the bed

James, Blogs make it happen!
We have a good relationship with Palace, don't we? Another reason why I prayed and prayed for things to turn out the way thru did.
Being serious for a moment, whatever floats your boat is fine when ...
Gosh, bunking in to Highbury with Al and seeing Dickov score that goal for the Foxes and then wooosh. Was 22 years ago.
Hahaha! Eze put it best when he was interviewed after his hat trick against Spurs, and he said it was down to "faith, man".
There was some interview where he must have been asked about all the noise and he said something like "when we win" ... So cold haha
I lived in London from 2001 to 2005. FA Cup, then league/cup double, then FA Cup, then The Invincibles, then finally FA Cup. A fucking golden age. I moved away, we never won again. Then a few cups eventually came, but man if you'd told me it would be 22 years until the league came around again ... holy shitballs. So much time!
I really should think about doing a bit of work
Nah, fuck that shit!
It's going in drier than a free Presbyterian wedding
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was 18 when we last won the league, it feels like a lifetime ago. Today is a special day.
I'm religious. I prayed for this. If God answered my prayer it might have been more "Making Eze happen" than the holy ghost making sure the camera angle was just right for the West Ham VAR review, but...
Indeed. Asking for the holy spirit to intercede, not just in Arsenal's fortunes, but life on earth generally cos that's more important than football, has and will hopefully pay dividends. I've long suspected the evil bastards strutting their stuff on the world stage will get their comeuppance soon. It feels like it.
I am not sure about the team.
But my wife has labelled me "unbearable"
Champions Arse!
I watched an episode of Succession, then decided to retire to bed as I had to be up at 5am. Quickly checked the phone, saw that Bournemouth were up 1-0. Fist pump. Turned it on, as the second half began. Citeh immediately had a chance, "Manchester City's biggest opportunity of the match comes one minute into the second half!" the commentator screamed, and I realised not only was I hurting Arsenal and Bournemouth by watching, I was also subjecting myself to a horrible torture. I switched off, and went to sleep.
Woke up at 5am, scratched the sleep from my eyes, and checked my phone. 1-1 final score. We are champions. I smiled, to myself. Went up, got ready. Just before I left the house, my wife appeared in the bathroom. "They've won! They did it! You must be so happy! I'm so happy FOR YOU!!" and we shared a big hug, as I dripped a bit of toothpaste on her shoulder. I smiled, tiredly, and set off.
I didn't think to wear an Arsenal shirt to work, to coax out any fellow supporters on the train or bus. So it's my own personal little tired, low-key celebration at work with coworkers who don't really care. I guess the final match against Palace I will gather with a couple of mates and celebrate after the fact. It feels a disappointing version of a "high" that winning the league ought to demand, certainly compared to living in London the last time it happened and all that entailed. I feel slightly guilty about how I have despaired throughout the season, at this player or that. At this performance or that. At how fucking arduous we have been to watch, how few goals we have scored.
But we got it over the line, and we're fucking CHAMPIONS! All are forgiven, all are legends and heroes, we got the ultimate reward, because indeed we did Trust The Process.
<3 to y'all !
Fucking goodly morning winners 🙌🏆
So happy for all of us. It’s been an absolute challenge these past four seasons with the haters enjoying our misery.
Today that misery is gone! Let them hate, let them hurt, we are the champions!
Thanks Blogs for being a level head here to take us through all the downs and now the ups!
Nice one, Andrew. All those years.....but we feckin' did it!
Time to be even more insufferable to everyone.
Wish me luck

Those were the days when even lowly reds were practically guaranteed tickets. I can count on the fingers of one hand how many games I’ve seen since Merci Arsene.
Take care, Ollie. Hope physio doesn’t work you too hard.

Also well in Bruce!
Logging in after 3 years, nothing much seems to have changed
After years of being soooo close yet so far I really didn't have it in me to follow yesterday's match. Time zone differences meant it was past midnight when game began, and after seeing bornemouth guy miss in front of an open net I decided to call it a day and sleep.
Anxiety got better of me, and eventually after fidgeting around and resisting the urge to see the score I finally picked up the phone at 02:33 AM to see the score!
We have all aged by a couple of decades in this season, no doubt
Really looking forward to Eze at Palace. Their fans aren't bitter like West ham fans over Rice.
Will be a special moment for him

Being serious for a moment, whatever floats your boat is fine when it comes to spiritual beliefs. But I prayed every day since our defeat to City, and I'm not saying it's down to that. Fat from it, but quite a few of our players are openly and strongly religious. I felt a kinship with them that I can't explain other than accepting some things are beyond this world.
🤣

🚨🚨🗣️ Thierry Henry with an Emotional Speech as Arsenal wins the 2025/2026 Premier League Title 🥹❤️
“22 years… 22 long years of waiting, dreaming, suffering, hoping, and believing. Let that sink in. Today, Arsenal are finally Premier League champions again, and honestly… this one feels different. This one is emotional.
I know what this football club means to the people. I know what those fans have been through. People laughed at Arsenal, people mocked the club, questioned the players, questioned the process, questioned whether this team could ever come back to the top again. But they stayed together. The supporters never stopped believing.
And I have to say this… without Mikel Arteta, this would not have been possible. What he has done for this football club is unbelievable. He brought back the identity, the discipline, the connection with the fans, and most importantly, the belief. He suffered, he learned, he stayed strong under pressure, and today he deserves all the credit in the world.
Also, respect to Josh Kroenke and Stan Kroenke because they trusted the manager when many people wanted change. They supported the project, they stayed patient, and today they are seeing the reward for that trust.
To the players… thank you. You gave everything for the badge. You fought for each other, for the fans, and for the history of this football club.
And to the Arsenal supporters around the world… enjoy this moment. Celebrate it with your families, with your friends, with everyone who stayed loyal through the difficult years. Because tonight, Arsenal are back where they belong.
Champions of England again.” ❤️

You have done well to last this long. I was relieved when my kids left education. Thought that was my school worries over and done with… then along came grandchildren! 😱
Last night I didn't know what to do, I just sat in stunned silence sipping on a whisky. I couldn't process it. This morning I woke up and watched the players celebrating again and I burst into tears. It felt so good to release all that tension and emotion.
Congratulations to the team and management, they have been absolutely incredible this season. They could have sacked it in after finishing 2nd three seasons in a row, but they kept going and it's all worth it in the end.
I feel so lucky to be a part of this beautiful Arseblog community.
I was asleep when we won the PL. My 35 year old body couldn't take two consecutive weeknights of staying up till 2:30 AM.
I awoke at 5, groggily checked the score. Saw City drew, which drew a smile. Saw Sp*rs lost, which drew a, "hehe". And then I promptly fell back asleep.
At some point afterwords, around 7:30, I dreamt cheking the score and saw City won 3-1. Woke up in a panic and checked the score again! That's where I truly was when I realised we'd finally won the league.
GREATEST OF GOODLY ARSES

#4 went to uni, finished his degree six years ago, he has ASD unemployed, living at home.
I'm retiring from teaching seven weeks tomorrow. Hit 60 last week and have had enough. I might go and live next door to Blogs.
couldn't watch the game, walked the bollix off the dog and couldn't bare to check livescore so followed poorlydrawnarsenal on bsky for updates and then watched the final 5 mins on sky, so apologies for the city goal..my bad. thanks jebus it is over and we can enjoy this moment, we deserve it all!

Pleased he did his degree. Fingers crossed on the work front (it's not easy out there, I know).
what did blogette do with her old husband?
That's good to hear. IIRC your boy was going on to higher education - did that happen or is my memory playing tricks?

You did the same as all of us, NB. Held our breath and hoped for the best.
Enjoy the feeling. It's been well-earned.
I’m at the gym right now so if I play that I’ll cry but I’ll save for the drive home haha
Haha g'wan Freddie
I know loads of spuds here who will be actively avoiding me for a few months (which is always wise)
Morning, winders.
Good morning you sexy lot,
Blimey Eddie, they've done it.
Total shagfest coming up. Yeah!
I was blasting Go West on my drive to work this morn

I've been thinking that with good reason for the last 3 years. So happy for us all. The hooting cars were still going in the early hours.
I hope it will be dead silent here on the 30th.
Thank you Blogs! What a place this is and what a club this is.
That was for all the Arsers and fallen Arsers along the way.
Hi WD. Long time; hope all is well with you on the island.
Is that you, WD, long time no see ! I often think of you and wonder how you all are.
What an absolutely wonderful feeling this is.
Thank you Arseblog.

Yep, still here, we’ve not sunk or blown up yet!
I'm sure I wasn't the only one to receive a lukewarm congratulations last night, with the inevitable caveat that "you didn't even have to play". My instant response was that we'd won it in our 37 matches.
It's a wonderful feeling and I'm feeling v calm and almost serene.
We have done it
Our community can relax and savour the feeling.
If only I didn't have a fucking abscess. Maybe that's part of the cosmic deal.
Good morning, mrswoo and crowd, long time no see, I trust all are healthy, wealthy and wise.
Hi WD. Long time; hope all is well with you on the island.
Didn't they miss two chances at the death? iRobot scored soon after
They were the sort of chances you’d get every few seasons and he got 2 in 5 mins and contrived to miss, not that it matters but when hahaland scored it was not good to be watching
And Blogs, congratulations to Blogette and her new husband.
Pretty sure I'm tearing up reading arseblog this morning on the tube
I'm a hot mess 😂
Right better start getting dressed to go to the physio….which Arsenal T-shirt to wear…..
I'm wearing my Arsenal shirt to work
started to think I might not live to see it 😂

I watched the Bournemouth game and I kid you not it when David Brooks managed to miss the most golden chances I ever did see I was close to the edge haha

At that moment, I was getting Son vibes, combined with a healthy does of Sheringh*m and Solsjaer
Argh
Well in champions!! Love to all of Arseblog and all the gooners. It's all been worth it!!

I didn’t think of that miss before they equalised and with a few seconds to go….glad it didn’t matter to us (might not be so great for Bournemouth)

Special shout out to Chrism, iclass, gold, bass, Hazza, Kleine, mrswoo and many others who kept the faith while acknowledging difficult and stressful moments when we stumbled. Beacons of strength and realism amidst the dooming.

Actually no, substract a year, I got confused.
understandable for today
started to think I might not live to see it 😂
Snap - I was 24 for the Invincibles!
Does it seem that long to you? Like since then I’ve moved from London to the Isle of Wight, got engaged, got married, had a son, nearly got divorced, moved house twice, but it still seems so recent 😂
Winning in 89 was probably how everyone felt after waiting so many years
Add one year for me! Laaambs!
Actually no, substract a year, I got confused.
The goodliest of morning to all you amazing people. We’ve only gone and done it! 🏆❤️🤍
Congrats on the Bloggette’s marriage!!
23 to 45 is a long time to wait but doesn’t it feel good

Fucking hell. Took me a while (and pronouncing it…) to realise who you were? 😂😂😂
Nice to see you here!
I was locked out and had to create a new persona! Couldn’t not pop by to join the fun.
WD
32 to 54 for me.
I had LL1 and LL2 on the couch beside me last night. I cannot begin to tell you how much I craved winning the league with my 2 boys at my side. It was magic!

WD!
Just remember all you 21 year olds experiencing this for the first time. If your parents had made you support the Spuds, you’d need to be 66 before you got to experience this.
Probably 67 if results ...
tbf spuds might win a league next year. Surely relegated teams have to be favourite to bounce back up

Let it sink in NB!!! CHAMPIONIE CHAMPIONIE OLE OLE OLE
I am so hung over. But I still love you all.
Did we not see the Arse of CHAMPIONS on Monday night?
😂
I wish I could say I did something amazing last night. But I watched the game in bed on my laptop, intently. And when that moment came, I called my bro and nephews. I posted online, I came back on the Arses for a bit. I considered driving up to London, wish I had. But where I was and what I did matters less to me than the fact that this club, this squad and this manager did it, they overcame obstacles that are not easy to see. They did it because they are very special. We can say it now, because they've done it. They are legends now! CHAMPIONS!

Well in Bruce! Quelle surprise.
well in duvee, who ever you are.
I felt sick yesterday in the last few minutes before and after the final whistle at Bournemouth. Just sick. But now I can relax and take it in and it's beautiful.
Well Arse and morning/afternoon/evening to all.
