Risibly the club have offered me priority access to buy a ticket to the live screening at the Emirates.
You can take that fold it up small and shove it up your fave blog.
It'll still be light won't it- what kind of a picture will they get up - chanting at a screen like it's 1984.
It will be only the second Euro final I will miss since 1980 - Brussels. My dad gave me the choice Wembley or Heysel. We were at Wembley in 79 - happiest day of my young life -so I chose north west London again.
I was at Copenhagen for the CWC again for the Uefa Cup. In Paris for Real Zaragosa and again for Barca in 06. The only one I missed was the Chelsea debacle. At the time I literally couldn't get there.
I wonder who will have "my" ticket. A disinterested member of the Hungarian football association, a friend of the sponsor -a Belgian Amstel rep. , a Ford Motor company accountant from Luxembourg, a Canada Dry executive from Geneva. A spiv.
Never forget the Arsenal fans who had travelled to Paris without tickets for our other European Cup final. Standing outside the stadium still hoping for a miracle.
The friends of the sponsors in the hospitality tent- a red carpet to the stadium. When it began to drizzle in the last 20 minutes of the game and some of them felt a bit of rain -they fled back to the hospitality tent in their droves.
Sick.
Can't stand it. When is something actually going to be done about this. 16 thousand tickets to each club in a 67 thousand stadium. What about the other 35 thousand tickets?

BBC has a fairly useful analysis of the VAR yesterday and the other fouls in the same period. Basically it comes down to "it was definitely a foul, and most of the others aren't often given".
I was at the pub and there were a few families there with little kids. When that one went in I slammed my drink down, splashing all over and uttered a very loud "F!CK". Then after the VAR went over and apologized to all the families with little kids. I'd have probably been too steamed to do that if the VAR hadn't gone our way.

It's amazing how this was even a discussion for debate and that the VAR went on for nearly five minutes is unbelievable. How the linesman did not see this foul and raise a flag is shocking, but then again not so much given the bias.

No worries, i’ve checked the official online Rule Book myself :-

Official Amendment to the IFAB Laws of the Game
Section 12. Subsection 4. Rule 286:

"When playing Arsenal in the EPL it is permittable to use the Goalkeepers arm to wave at your fiancée in the crowd."

Implementation Guidelines & Protocol
To ensure the integrity of the match and maintain the professional standards of the English Premier League, the following procedural constraints apply to the execution of Rule 286:
• Notification of Intent: The designated goalkeeper must register the presence and seating coordinates of the fiancée with the Fourth Official no later than 60 minutes prior to kickoff.
• Temporal Constraints: The "Waving Action" may only be initiated during a dead-ball situation (e.g., goal kicks, injury timeouts, or VAR reviews). Execution of the rule during active play remains subject to standard "Unsporting Behaviour" cautions.
• Visual Limitations: The wave must be a clear, distinct manual gesture. The use of pyrotechnics, placards, or "proposal-style" choreography is strictly prohibited under Subsection 4.2 (External Distractions).
• Club-Specific Provision: Per the specific wording of the statute, this allowance is exclusively activated during fixtures involving Arsenal FC. Standard celebratory restrictions remain in effect for all other Premier League matchups.

Note to Match Officials: Referees are instructed to allow a grace period of three seconds for the acknowledgment. Should the fiancée fail to wave back, play must resume immediately to avoid "Delaying the Restart of Play" penalties.

that's where neutrals come in and even more so anti-Gunners. I think the refs wanted to give that goal so badly which is why the review took that long. But the fouls on Raya were so iron clad there is no way they could give the goal. Wib / FoB ;-P. Morning/afternoon winners!

Cometh the hour, cometh the blog. Blogs perfectly encapsulates the emotion of how we all felt as well as remaining objectively honest and fair, unlike most of the other anti-Arsenal pundits. Generally speaking, I have been a huge critic of VAR for taking the joy and soul out of the game since its inception, but yesterday showed that with all the chaos going on in the penlaty box during a corner kick, where it is very difficult for the referee to see everything that's going on at the same time—though I do wonder why the linesman didn't see it as he was looking right at it!—VAR made the correct decision. This is where it is useful, not for a toenail offside, that shit is just ridiculous. Why it took four plus minutes to have the ref go and take a look was pathetic.

Grotesque one-eyeism when the likes of Klopp have run down the touchline, when I see current managers constantly haranguing and berating officials. Pretty much what Roy Keane said. There are a lot of grapples going on in the box when a corner comes over, but you have to be careful not to do something to obvious on the keeper, because you know that if the ball goes in the net, it will be checked by VAR.

Just watched MoTD. The ex-ref "expert" explained that the foul on David Raya was given, and the others not, because that's where the ball was dropping so that was the foul that most affected play. If there are multiple incidents then that is how they decide which one to use to make their decision.

I liked Danny Murphy's assertion that the only reason that the VAR decision was regarded as controversial was because it was Arsenal — there's no question, he said, that the decision was correct.

Well, they just brought it on themselves in this case. How many replays did it take for you to see the foul? I saw it one the first replay, from the camera facing Raya it's plain as day. Arteta saw it...
I honestly think they keep the replays running and take as long as possible to turn refereeing and VAR into the main event, to try and create drama and suspense, and so the only thing talked about after the game is VAR. They must have surely already made their decision after the first replay.

Christ alive. Here's how it went down at my place.

- Planned not to watch, as has been the loose / sporadically adhered structure since the Bournemouth game when I couldn't bear it anymore. Dinner wasn't ready though, so I watched a bit.
- Argued with wife (I was of course Stressed As Fuck) over who would put the youngest to bed, a torturous process currently as she's in a "development stage"...
- Was half way through the putting-to-bed routine (because naturally I lost the argument, swiftly and decisively), when she who must be obeyed realised Arsenal was playing, at which point she said "of course you must watch, love" ...
- Obviously this wasn't part of the plan, but she would not hear more of the subject so watch I was forced to do (it was now the 50th minute or something)
- I watched, sinking deeper and deeper into the sofa, realising that those early chances not taken were indeed, once again, going to be decisive and put us through the fucking wringer of agony and despair
- Tross scores! Fist pumps, anguished wondering about exactly when and how VAR would rule it out
- Goal stands! Slight, tiny release of stress i.e. one or two of my smaller toes felt quite good
- We fail to hold the ball, let them barge into us, buy fouls .... no, we just lump it away. I sink back into hunchback-in-sofa mode
- Gabriel thighs it out for a corner ... i remove two layers of upper clothing, as I am suddenly not cold but instead sweating profusely
- Wet Sham score. I say FUCK extremely loudly and hear a "Shhhh!!" from the bedroom of the put-to-bed-child
- I turn off the TV and hurl the remote across the room, where it clatters into a table. "Shhhh!!" part 2 ensues
- I stalk downstairs, desperate, angry, anguished, frustrated, ready to tackle that cunt neighbour across the road about his fucking campervan that blocks our view and smooth exit from our own driveway, a battle I have resisted taking up but RIGHT NOW THE CUNT CAN HAVE IT
- My eldest is watching downstairs, smartly having deduced that this is not a game for Dad & Daughter to share together, she looks at me in nervous anxiety as I stalk past and put the jug on. Ah, tea, soother of apoplectic rage. Better still, maker of noise as the water boils, hence drowning out the commentary of the downstairs tv
- Daughter sadly slinks out of downstairs lounge and trudges up towards her bedroom. TURN THE BLOODY TV OFF IF YOU'RE DONE IN THERE!!!! I roar sweetly, kindly, spittle flying in all directions
- Tea is ready, 5 minutes have passed, I stalk back upstairs to watch the UFC event from last night, where I can vicariously live through the action of men punching other men hard in the face, something that feels cathartic and appropriate, a chance to live my dream of punching every man who has ever worn an Arsenal shirt hard and screaming at them for what they have caused me for so many years (not Bergkamp though, he would get a hug and some tears on the shouder)
- TV is put on again, I decide to watch 10 seconds of studio analysis until they start to criticise Arsenal at which point I will switch off again
- What's this? 101 minutes played .... and it's 0-1?? WHAT THE FUCK. I do not dare to breathe. What the fuck has happened. The goal has been ruled out?! HOW. WHY. OH MY GOD
- Game over. 0-1 to the Arsenun! "Oh everybody is going to hate us for this!" I squawk-cackle, desperately rewinding the last part of the match to see what transpired.

Overall, a terrible but wonderful yet exhausting experience. I can't ever think of us being such pivotal beneficiaries of an offiating turnaround. Still stunned they did it, FOR US!

For years we were taunted with accusations of being wall flowers and physically weak against rough house tactics, now we have toughened up and take no shit they are upset and accuse us of being too rough.

"Pundits" who pander to social media level of histrionics are unfortunately a sign of the times.

Regarding Rice at RB. Given the state of play till that time, Arteta may have been thinking it will work out. Unfortunately, with Saka and Eze both below par, it all fell apart esp since burnt out Zubi could not replicate Rice-MLS axis. Even before that all the best moves had come from our left side.

I have to say….winning in a manner that upsets half the footballing universe has a certain satisfaction about it because as much as it’s nice to be known for playing beautiful football, if we’re going to get the three points and at the same time send the haters apoplectic then that feels extra good

something missed in the mayhem....
Raya clearly tells the ref, my arm was held, this meant, VAR wouldv'e of heard that, therefore, was looking for it, unlike a general moan, he pointed out to the ref, what the offence was...
the fact it took 2 mins to find it, and, as even Gnev pointed out on coverage, if they had showed the reverse angle first, it would've taken 5 seconds,...
I think sadly, and not that we we didn't already suspect, they are 'bad faith' pundits out there...
next time you hear Given etc say anything about The Arse again, just remember this.....

When we have won the final two matches 🤞🏻 Arteta should make a point by handing out Arsenal bottles to all of the players. When the players are being interviewed they should keep swigging from them.

Not seen it, and not going to, but I just read his words in that link to Rooney's take. Given is essentially saying the goal should stand cos it's Arsenal. Supposedly, payback for past, similar transgressions which he could only cite alleged blocking of defenders and goalkeepers. So our players standing their ground should be an offence, but every other team does it and that's okay? Fucking moron doesn't begin to describe him.

The start was brilliant by the team. One standout was how quickly we moved the ball, both offensively and defensively. For first 20 minutes rarely was any player caught on the ball. Then for the first time, we dawdled on the ball on right hand side and White got injured trying to win it back.
