It's the team attitude that's been built that's incredible, personified by Kepa, who has only played in domestic cups, caring enough to get himself booked sitting on the bench! Also the "one club" attitude between the men's and women's teams which I think has spurred (unfortunate word but ...) our men to match what the girls achieved last season, friendly competition if you like. Arteta, Slegers and a whole team of people in the background have built something special. Long may it continue.

Agree. Shay was not trying to be controversial or sensationalist. I used to think KC was a good pundit (mea culpe)....but last night he was flip flopping and contradicting himself and desperately trying to create his own narrative.....painful to watch. Like Eamonn Dunphy without the 'charm'!

It's always been a two-way street. The players just need to give us something to get behind and it can be loud and hostile. Half an hour of playing backwards and the enthusiasm wanes.
I do agree they are inextricably linked.. I just believe there is more onus on the supporters to give that extra boost to the players. The players only start when the whistle blows.. but the supports can influence the team (psychologically) a long time pre-kick off.
Also, the players are constantly thinking of pockets of space, shadows of opponents, watching for passing lanes, managing their shape, gauging triggers and transitions, deciding when to exert themselves or conserve energy - it's like playing a high speed game of chess while running a marathon.
All the supporters have to do is scream, chant and swing their scarves, like they did last night. That mood created by those 65k people watching will massively improve the cognitive function of the players and thereby their performance. I don't think the players ever think: "we'll just pass sideways because it's easier".
Anyway, huge respect to the people in the stadium last night, I truly believe they were the 12th man. I want more of that at our ground!
I really hope the club arrange for big screens on the pitch like they did in 2014 and 2015 for the FA Cup finals

I’m glad I watched it on Amazon. Had enough of Premier Sports. Kenny Cunningham makes Jamie O’Hara look intelligent. I saw a clip this morning where Shay Given pointed out Arsenal’s defensive numbers to which Cunningham said he is not being blinded by facts 😂. Duff is a bit like Scholes. Yeah, if it weren't for the first leg of the other semi, everyone would/should be going 'classic CL semi-final, tight and tense, great performance'. I think both legs belonged there.
We played a lot of shite up to the Newcastle match, but I think winning that changed us, and the last few matches, to various degrees, have not annoyed me at all, we've played to our strengths and been excellent.
