There's a brilliant Twilight Episode(?) in which the central character inadvertently stumbles into a completely blank area in some corner of the world. Then some "workmen" appear and explain that because no one should have been inhabiting that space at that particular time it didn't require "painting in". Only places that are seen by humanity are "coloured in". To save something. Energy or something. They went on to say that this is what happens when, say, you lose keys; though you swore you left them on that table. Later, you find them on the table exactly where you thought you'd left them. Basically, when filling in the space the first time, the "workmen" forgot to fill them back in.

fantastic!

I did that once with a set of padlock keys for some cabinets. I went to open them one day the keys were not in the usual spot. I searched high and low and could not find them and some time later ended up having to hacksaw them all off.

At the time I joked with my lady friend that in a few years I'll stumble upon them by accident and it'll be the stupidest place ever.

Sure enough I did find them years later and they were in literally the second place I'd originally checked... AND a place she would've rummaged around in on the regular. How neither of us saw them in all that time is an hilarious mystery.

Sure there are people out there with worse stories than mine but still. I get my children every other week so have to pick and choose the ballot games I apply for. Getting ballot tickets is hard enough without having most games crossed of straight away. However I finally got some, great, the Burnley game, last home game of the season. The wait was worth it.

Nope, let's just move the game. Not so easy for me to move plans though, even if I could have them that night (which I doubt) I'm away with work so can't go anyway. So now I have to tell my kids they can't go to the game they've been looking forward to for weeks.

Thanks Arsenal. Thanks Sky. Thanks Premier League.

If only the date of the FA Cup was known in advance.

This is not just a football thing but sports in general seem to have gone down this route, it needs a few to get chinned and then we might be able to get back to some sanity.

And before anyone comments yes I know I tend to talk shit after matches but I am not paid a small fortune for my ill informed opinions on the the game. Just like others here I tend to be a bit emotional after games for a couple of hours, it's natural to feel like this when you support the club.
But if I was a complete and utter failure as a manager I wouldn't be so vindictive and nasty to a fellow professional, possibly being an abject failure causes this bitterness.

The legendary host of 90s channel 4 football shows Football Italia (live games on Sunday afternoon) and Gazzetta Football Italia (Saturday round up show of the previous weeks Serie A action).

Often seen with pink sheets, big desserts and espresso.

He now hosts the totally football show for the Athletic which is mostly filled with bland English journos. The European edition released on Tuesdays is still good listening tho.

Nope, I'm pretty sure I had it on Saturday morning when I drove to my run. After that, I think (but not 100% I put it into my Arsenal jacket (zipped pocket) when I went to my mate's on Saturday evening.
Possibly transferred it to inner pocket of other jacket when I went to work on Monday morning, but I have no specific recollection, juste one of those things that's semi-automatic, and the fluctuating temperatures mean I have no fixed jacket at the moment. There's no definite, but I've looked in all the possible places, and also in the car, and nothing. Tried work, nobody brought it to reception, etc. It's a weird but unpleasant mystery. If I'd been a little more careful and less tired about all the transfers from one pocket to the other, in a rational way, it wouldn't have happened. Ultimately at one point of another I fucked up, I guess. But I can't realistically think when there would have been a risk. Doesn't make much sense to have lost it this time.

The only way it can be done is to keep the exam candidate in quarantine i.e., no access to the outside world. In school, the candidate is kept in isolation with just their revision material for company (and an invigilator). If there is an overnight quarantine required (the exam has to be taken the next day) this generally happens by the parent signing a legal declaration that they will not allow the candidate to have access to the internet or any other media, as well as not contacting anyone outside the family home.

James Richardson, Croton, was (is still) I seem to remember, a presenter from a bygone era who fronted a show on a (then) newer Channel 4 which went against type to bring us Serie A under the banner "Gazetta Football Italia". I think it was inspired by the England player Gazza heading off to play for Lazio but as he was injured half the time, morphed into one of the better, comprehensive football programmes. Along with whole matches on a Sunday afternoon of the best league in Europe at the time, he had a round-up segment which was often funny and insightful so that we knew more about Fiorentina or Udinese than we did about the UK teams...

No luck on Atleti ballot, no suprise.
So I'll have had four consecutive successes, attended four matches between mid-January and March 1st, and absolutely nothing afterwards. Streaky (shit). Regret giving the Silver one more season, even if on advice of good people :-p
On the good news, we'll see on Monday, but very likely I'll have the green light to attempt to play football again next week or the week after.

Welcome back, Kleine, and thanks for articulating what some of us are feeling. I hope the whole thing implodes. Once upon a time Serie A was the top league in the world until it went tits up, so the notion that it couldn't happen here is fanciful to say the least.

The complicity of the BBC is the most disappointing part for me, but I've gained headspace and so much clarity since I stopped using the app. The endless churn of clickbaity articles on there to generate content will eventually lead to it eating itself.

Fuck everything to do with the premier league and the horrible, horrible coverage of it.

Well its not quite that grand, but I'll be going to watch them on Thursday at the Chelmsford Civic Theatre. My youngest says it will be his last time, but my eldest is helping backstage now, although he has been strong-armed into appearing in a couple of skits this time, so it looks like the association will carry on a bit longer. When my eldest was a cub he had the lead role in the mini-gang main bit about a lost cub, based on The Wizard of Oz story. He had to deliver a selection of one-liners which was quite funny. Now he's 18 he's more likely to be in drag this year. It's good for kids to get up on stage at an early age.

Anyway, seems like I just lost my passport so can't travel anywhere now. Meaning I'll probably win the ballot for the semifinal. Also had a gig I was very very very much looking forward to in London, now it' off until my passport reappears.
The trouble with having to carry ID with you all the time is you are also more likely to fucking lose it when changing jackets/trousers/getting it in and out of your pocket. And I'm not 100% sure when I saw it last, Saturday or Monday. Nobody's found it at work so maybe I lost it on the way back from mate on Saturday or something though I fail to see how at all.
