I’m not giving up yet but they are red hot while we are probably in the worst run of form for 3-4 years

How does Kai not score at the end? You have to score that if you want to be champions.
Yes, it was the perfect delivery I thought it was destined to hit the back of the net. Alas here we are. Fine margins, but at least there was some fight. Eze sub was a bit of an odd move but who knows maybe he was struggling.
WTF happened to Raya. Total bellend today, again.

Big difference obviously is the attack. We don’t have elite quality.
Midfield too. Saliba and Gabriel were not at their best today either.
Harsh reality. Looking at both team lineups and being completely honest, I don't think we have a better player in any position the first 11.

100%. We were so poor in that game. At least today we put up a contest. All we can hope is that Bournemouth Everton and Villa can take points of City.

I don’t think he was really a problem. Haaland scored but you are talking about a guy scoring at a historical rate.

Another sleepless night in store. Been an emotional day. Goodnight.

Why are we, a relatively successful club by most measures, so prone to this? Our top players leaving or being linked with moves away due to lack of success is annoying cos they've been part of the bloody team.

Kai missing that header at the end is basically him and us in a nutshell.
Gabriel was shit today...he should look at himself
Overly emotional and let Haaland get in his head

Fuck me
Today was everything in microcosm. There competing and game available to win but unable to extract damage in the high leverage moments.
Oh well.
The question for me is if we end up empty handed is not Artetas situation as much as will our better players look to leave if certain clubs show an interest in them.

Gabriel and Saliba are two players that would strenghten any defence and missing out again could mean them looking at a new club that delivers trophies.
Of course we could end the season with two trophies but realistically we look likely to come up short in both competitions.
For me, he has to go if he doesn’t win anything this season. His cup records are abysmal and
no big club should put up with that record.
I’d rather he left but I wouldn’t be as essentialist about things.

So can we criticize Arteta now or are we still delaying this conversation?
I'm sorry, but this year was supposed to be the year. The club gave him 8 additions to the squad to cope with injuries. And ...
He's hardly been immune from criticism. Plenty on here regularly lay into him. Assorted YouTube fan channels have been giving him both barrels for since our unexpected title challenge in 22/23 fell apart after injuries to Saliba and Tomiyasu.
Not sure how much difference disgruntled fans online will make in the running and decision making of the club. I'm not suggesting he's beyond reproach, cos there are systematic flaws which have not been addressed through coaching which have left me exasperated. Making a change for its own sake might not be a good idea, but questions will be asked, and rightly so.

Would Arteta want to go again if he won nothing?
At what point would his mind not be broken from this season. Maybe if the bald cunt leaves he'd think he could finally do it
One other thing, the team performance was good today. We had chances. We were busy. The players weren't timid. But we never looked in full control. We never had players really imposing themselves on the game. We couldn't push the ball up toward their 16-yard box in a calm, measured way. We couldn't pass it up seamlessly. More like getting there by fluke plus exhaustion. This inability to pass the ball forward under pressure and find or create spaces for ourselves is appalling to watch at this stage of the project. If we can't do that against the best teams for even small periods, then something isn't right.
I'd be willing to grant him clemency (i.e., one more year tops) if we reached the CL final. No-one has foregrounded absence of cup finals/trophies more than me but a League Cup and CL final in the sam...
Man I'm having dreams of winning that CL
Just hope that if we do make it, it's Bayern. PSG give me the shits
I'd be willing to grant him clemency (i.e., one more year tops) if we reached the CL final. No-one has foregrounded absence of cup finals/trophies more than me but a League Cup and CL final in the same reason is an improvement that's hard to ignore.
So can we criticize Arteta now or are we still delaying this conversation?
I'm sorry, but this year was supposed to be the year. The club gave him 8 additions to the squad to cope with injuries. And yet the same thing happened again: players knackered at the end of the season. Maybe, just maybe, the idea of fielding 11 physical players who will outrun the rival team can't work over the course of a full season?
This is not the first time this has happened -- but the fourth in succession!
This is why technical players and creative play is important. You can have players who will make something happen regardless of the physical condition of the player. It is also more fun to play and less taxing mentally.
Pep is the master of detail and tactics, but he also revers technical quality. His teams never lacked that creative spark, even if it was constrained by the system. It is still there.
Arteta had a summer to boost his attack. What did he do? Buy Zubimendi who is not that technical like Zinny. Buy Gyokeres and Madueke for ridiculous prices -- again, not technical players. Even prioritized them ahead of Eze, the one creative player who Arteta finally gave his approval to purchase. And who looks the most dangerous, able, competent, reliable in our attack these days? Eze. Who Arteta of course benched today ahead of Odegaard and Kai despite both players still not match fit.
I'm sorry, but this project needs to end. I can't see us win the league from here. It will require a miracle. I don't even see us winning the remaining five games. The team doesn't have the energy to do it.
I would also be very skeptical if we can win the CL, although a cup-tie does have the element of luck to it.
Anyhow, it's time to have a hard conversation. Yes, Arteta is an incredible manager. He is smart, tactically astute, motivational, leader, all of that is true. But I'm looking at the football on the pitch, I see the same problems, I see too much focus on defense and physicality, which has not proven to work. Yes, these are important to win you titles, but they are not the only element necessary. The technical quality part has been neglected by this manager and it has (apparently) cost us the title. Again.
Don't they play mid week v Burnley?
Yeah, I meant after that..
Panic on the streets of London banner unfurled at the end of the game. Fuckheads
Ahhh. :(
Zubimendi completed 18 passes today.......
So fuck Chelsea and fuck Man City. Well done Leicester and well done Liverpool and I guess even Man United. Those are the only flowers I’ll give out.
Rainieri and Klopp take a fucking bow.
Right?
Some fans will say It’s jealousy and pointing out something irrelevant.
Some will say they wish their team would do the same and they wouldn’t care.
Some will say it doesn’t matter how you win things. That the trophy cabinet doesn’t lie, the parades don’t lie. Thats just the modern game.
But for me, from right back at school we always somehow knew what was fair and what wasn't, and only when it was fair did it mean something to win.
And with a shit load of whistles as well
Do you think that city fans know what every other fan knows.

THIS !! With bells on!
Do you think that city fans know what every other fan knows.
No matter what they win, they are never really respected as worthy winners because we all know they cheated. Either it’s legally proved 116 or not. They cheated anyway in the same way Chelsea did.
Leicester city still get far more respect for that one season.
City were just a shit Manc version of Everton to everyone until a foreign oil-sheikh-prince type injected a load of cash. Forget the 116, it was cheating from the start.
It’s like using a cheat code or mod on a footy manager game - “infinite funds”. It’s fun to use the exploit to take a shit team to the top, but deep down you know it’s hollow - because you didn’t really earn it.

Chelsea will be encouraged by the second half.
Aston Villa will feel they dropped off but still flying high.
Newcastle fans are disappointed because they assumed they were better than they were.
So. Arsenal? It feels like we won’t win anything, and that will be another great opportunity missed again.
No other ‘big clubs’ ;)
Except Arteta has never finished 4th.

You can take mine as well
Strangely I feel better now that there isn't a lead to throw away anymore
Also, arteta can't play cautiousball anymore. If this fucker goes down to goal difference, we'll need every goal

"Don't lose" is not enough now. We need to win out the rest of the season to even have a chance.
4th was a trophy when we were skint. We have spent a fortune and 2nd isn't a trophy. Neither is a semi in the CL.
To win something now we do need a miracle - because we haven’t been able to improve ...
"none of our players have been able to go up a gear"
most of them popped it into neutral at the turn of the year and have donkeying the clutch ever since

Christ, you can tell that much about me from messages posted on an online football fan site? That's astounding.
That’s the point, in a way. BECAUSE all people have to go on is the language and tone, we actually should be far more reserved and cautious. We make judgements all the time and this is all we have to go on.
But in reality we say far more than we would in real life.
Club has put fans through utter agony over the last 15-16 years (I won't mention some of the cup finals). Does any club flirt with success with a worse hit rate than this one...

This will be a new unprecedented record of 4 in a row with nothing preceding it and realistically a worse chance of winning next season.
I hear dogging is good fun in the summer.
Haha
I wonder how good friends Guardiola and Arteta actually are, do they speak to each other?
Part of me reckons he's still at Man city as he can't stand seeing Arteta win anything. Just a feeling.

The main problem with today's performance is that we didn't play like that in other games throughout the season where we dropped points against teams we ought to have beaten. If today's showing was the level we'd been at all season, today's loss wouldn't have mattered as we'd have been so far ahead in the table.
We have to take that level into the remaining matches including the Champions League and we might win something.
I'm going to have to get into the chess and gardening big time
Right, enough! Too worked up. Good night all.
Pot, kettle, black. Absolute joke how you accuse others of the very traits you exhibit. As for morals, this is football. Invoking morality is, to use your word, ridiculous.
You are the one invoking morality, that’s the whole point. And no, not pot kettle black. I’m an argumentative person easily provoked, I am sometimes too quick to assume bad intent. But I’m not pompous, or morally superior. I just want to talk football but you turn it into a moral test. Your view about Max Dowman is based on some plausible but performative moral concern where you seek to admonish me in some moral way for wanting to see a player who is clearly better than Madueke and Martinelli. Your use of concern for Max’s welfare and future development is a weapon just to place yourself in some morally superior position to me. That’s your real line of argument, not some concern for Max’s development. It’s not an honest argument. It’s an attack. I find that pompous and devious. For my sins I bite when I am confronted with that kind of pomposity. And I know always that your type needs to feel superior so you will come back with another pompous reply. Until I have to leave it.

No way City are winning these many titles without Pep. They could have signed Messi and Ronaldo together and wouldn’t have this continuous period of success. Success at the top level is very closely linked to the manager.

You know, in the last few years it’s been a way to bond with my bro and nephews. Been stuck out here in Surrey not my people at all, at least I had the footie. We had some good days. One nephew came over today with his girlfriend. Poor her having to see us all gutted. The other two nephews stayed away. I was just dreaming of the parade in the sun, not even for the trophy but to catch up with old mates from the neighbourhood, to share a joyful moment. Who knows, it may still happen. But today was not good. My magic mushrooms unfortunately not enough to offset the ritalin which makes me agitated. And the team gave me every reason to be!
I hear you though. Smart move. If I had a busier life I could let this go. Hopefully next season I can break this toxic relationship!

NB when we were at our worst; losing to Man Utd 8-2 and the rest, I stopped watching all big games and would watch the easier ones instead. I was eaten up inside, depressed, and Arsenal routinely ruined my weekend. It was a self-harm type of addiction and I had to wean myself back a bit.
I love Arsenal and have done for years but at times, I must remember everything else in life. I didnt watch today, apart from the last ten but even then i didn’t expect anything at all.
Wake me up at the end of the season, honestly.
If city slip i might wake up but to be frank if we do win it’ll be great as next season we can enjoy whatever happens with a weight off our shoulders.
If we don’t win, at least i personally won’t have tortured myself with hope before being brutally fucked for yet another season.
They were dogshit first part of the season
They added in January and we’ve lost big players from injury
The worst city side in 8/9 years? They added Guehi and splashed on Semen-yo! In the winter. It’s not exactly a struggling side
They were dogshit first part of the season
Personally, I don’t think it’s an issue with Arteta’s tactics. He’s a good coach. But we’ve fucked it with the transfers (and Arteta has been central to that so he doesn’t get off scot free).
Gyokeres- miss.
Madueke- miss.
Martinelli- could’ve worked maybe, but misprofiled.
Trossard- good on his day but you shouldn’t be relying on him in 2026 in a six pointer.
Havertz- yeah OK but not a killer

Yup. Unfortunately. He’s built an excellent, competitive side but is it good enough to beat the worst City team in the last 8/9 years? Tonight’s evidence says no
Ay in a perverted way it's almost impressive how close he's got with such a stinky front line.

It’s true. It’s Arteta’s team and so the credit for getting us to the brink of winning is down to him.
BUT he has to allow changes to his tactic now.l and extra help where identified. I think he will, he wants to win as much as any of us do.
If not, frustrating as it is, we don’t sack a manager who is on the brink of what would be absolute heaven for us. Not while the best players are still getting to their prime

He's been here for over 6 years. This is his creation, his vision. Absolutely others need to hold their share of criticism but nobody has more influence on the makeup of the individuals as Arteta does.

Exactly my thought
I am pretty convinced that the success of top teams has far more to do with personnel than it does with the manager. Thus we could sack Arteta but it still leaves us with a team where the LW options are Trossard/Martinelli and the ST options are Gyokeres/Havertz. I think Arteta is a great manager, could you sack him and get a more effective coach in his place? Maybe. But that coach would still have to deal with those limited players who are a consequence of previous transfer windows. Ultimately City needed spark and they signed Semenyo, Cherki, Guehi. We have needed spark for years and we signed Madueke and Gyokeres. For me that sums it up and it’s a more complex issue to solve than sacking Arteta and signing Luis Enrique or whoever

I agree but we’re not offloading all those players even if we sack Arteta. We’re lumbered with this now. I honestly wish I could just stop watching Arsenal altogether. I’m sick of getting into arguments with strangers over something as inconsequential as football when the world is in flames. I’d sooner spend my energy arguing important stuff.
This club is my blood, it’s my childhood, my youth, my roots, my home, but it’s all become a suffering. Arguing with strangers online is ridiculous. I don’t do that on X. It happens here. Honestly, it’s wasting energy. I’ve lost enough following this serially tease of Arteta teams.
Things can get a lot worse, we could end up empty handed while spurs win something, the race for the 3rd relegation spot.
We are to the PL what South Africa is to International Cricket.
It's hard to argue with the tag to be honest

You’re a pompous twat. And you do like to play a morally superior card. Much as I dislike the phrase virtue signalling (I don’t need a patronising lesson in who uses that thank you) it does seem appropriate to you. You seem to think you operate in some morally superior state. But you look for confrontation at every opportunity and your arguments are weak but present as morally superior. It’s performative. You’re not superior you don’t care about Max, you just want to argue and place yourself in some morally superior position. I honestly dislike the way you come across on here. I find you smug and pompous.
Ive resisted the bottlers tag because we improved every year up to last year.
This year has been very poor, it’s been a miracle we’ve been top this long, but this team are bottlers
We are to the PL what South Africa is to International Cricket.
I have heard these excuses for 4 years in a row. At the end of the day, we don't have a team that's attack focused and mentally focused to win the league. We don't have the winning pedigree and that's what Man City has in abundance. I've had enough of this negative boring cautious football. I have officially jumped on to the "Arteta out" bandwagon. The Arsenal that I fell in love with in the early 2000s played free flowing attacking football with great technical players. This team is exactly the opposite. I am done. We need better players, offload Gyok, Trossard, Noni, Kai, Martinelli and Odegaard. Get players with more attacking intent and with better technique. And above all, get a new manager who can build a winning team with mental strength. Initially It's better to play exciting football and end up in top four rather than to play gazillion diagonal passes between the keeper and defence and end up trophyless at the end of the season.
Did you look in the mirror before posting your equally ridiculous argument? It's not imagining a future none of us can prove when there's evidence of footballer's legs running out cos they started pla...
Why do you insist on some moral challenge? “Did you look in the mirror”. Who do you think you are? A schoolmaster? Honestly, it’s a struggle to not react to your manner of confrontation. You’re dealing in hypotheticals to make yourself seem somehow morally superior. Dowman is on the bench that means he’s ready to play. This is a business of winning game. If you asked him he’d have wanted to play.
I struggle to deal with the way you try to get personal with every interaction. You seem so pompous I find that really hard not to get worked up by.
and from what I saw of the game, fucking play Odegaard and Eze on the same pitch
It's all about the semi final with Atletico now
Arsenal making sure we can’t even enjoy Spurs sprinting towards relegation.
To hell with what? You’re imagining if a future no one can prove, making you look concerned but really unknowable. How’s Nwaneri’s long-term development going. You’re virtue signalling rather than dea...
Did you look in the mirror before posting your equally ridiculous argument? It's not imagining a future none of us can prove when there's evidence of footballer's legs running out cos they started playing at such a young age. Accusing me of not knowing the future is a bit much from someone who keeps harping on about Dowman all cos of his lovely cameo against Everton. As for "virtue signalling", a ridiculous and insulting phrase mainly used by right-wingers, the tone deaf and the disingenuous. Unlike you I don't post on here with hindsight goggles on, using every evidence after the fact to pretend I knew that's what would happen.
Panic on the streets of London banner unfurled at the end of the game. Fuckheads
They might actually have to have some sort of punishment if we're really lucky - they seem to have got off for a long time scot free.
I’m hoping for this and it would be so funny and so justified
Arteta can stay, but he needs someone to literally take over the attack, and some mentality monster in the staff.
The heart and brain drawings aren't enough.
To be honest I think the whole squad are...
I think half of our problem is too many cooks spoiling the broth, our technical area will soon be competing with NFL teams for sideline coaching staff.
He has too many voices in his ears and that could be causing the players issues as well.
If they were to win the domestic treble he probably would leave in the summer. leaving on a high note and all that?
He'd wait to see if Arteta leaves first. If Arteta stays then he'll probably sign a new contract just to see if he can have Arteta as a gibbering wreck in a strait jacket
Guardiola is leaving isn't he. Maybe he's going home or has he and his wife fallen out yet again ?
If they were to win the domestic treble he probably would leave in the summer. leaving on a high note and all that?
We just don’t know. If someone like Enrique is available, then the club has to try.

I think we'll drop away a lot more if Arteta leaves.
We just don’t know. If someone like Enrique is available, then the club has to try.
Charges would have been made by now and possible sanctions implemented.
Arsenal just seem to freeze when they've a points lead.
23/24 season, that run of dropping only 5 points in 19 games. There's no chance in hell they do that if they were say 6 clear at Christmas
To be honest, a fucking last day win on goal difference where nerves aren't as possible is more likely

Don't be too sure.
I think we'll drop away a lot more if Arteta leaves.
I think this is a very Arsenal way of looking at things but I get why people think that way.
That banner was fucking embarrassing. You’re a cheat club operating outside the rules and you still have the gall to punch down like that. Fucking wankers
Sorry what was this!?
They might actually have to have some sort of punishment if we're really lucky - they seem to have got off for a long time scot free.
Won't happen, the UAE are too influential as "partners" in the Middle-East. Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is directly implicated in Genocide and crimes against humanity but is as I said "our friend".
No charges will be forthcoming with the current situation in the region, the government and foreign office will see to that.

This squad is carrying a lot of stale or broken players who are under contract on big money.
Arteta ain't going anywhere, but I do think they'll drop away a bit next season.

Wouldn't mind seeing the back of Martinelli, absolutely hopeless. Madueke too, shite.
Anyway blogs reckons he'll walk if he doesn't win anything
Yeah I think that's the only way he goes. This board doesn't have the bottle or football savvy to replace him.
Arteta can stay, but he needs someone to literally take over the attack, and some mentality monster in the staff.
The heart and brain drawings aren't enough.
To be honest I think the whole squad are shot. You can’t be brought up on self belief and positivity only to fail for four years.
Kind of makes you lose all that faith

I understand and agree about issues of recruitment. The reaction of fans to buying Madueke was spot on wasn’t it. An utterly no-mark waste of space.
But Dowman could have exploited those spaces. Of ...
Gyokeres and, especially Madueke, were very bad mistakes. Gyokeres' severe limitations were clear with a tiny bit of digging. I can reconcile his recruitment as he was essential for the first few months without Havertz and Jesus. If we get a top tier striker and Jesus is shown the door (for free) then we will need three strikers and rotate, because I honestly don't see Gyokeres as a viable rotation option and the club ain't selling him.
As for Madueke, he is a disaster at £50m+. His limitations were there for everyone to see, and everyone did see them, except whomever was responsible for his recruitment.
We need to bring in a serious 'football person' who can act as a critical friend to Arteta and who will be involved in identifying Arteta's replacement. - and look to properly address the squad's deficiencies.
I was wrong, we didn’t lead the table last season, i think we were second the whole time waiting for pool to slip up. Which they didn’t. 22-23 we led for 84% of the season
Thanks NB. Sounds as though we might still be in with an outside chance if City slip up in their remaining matches and we play like we did today, apart from the front players that is.

Yep. Another crazy decision, justified by some fans here as being “good for his development” much like the arguments for not playing Dowman. Putting player over team.

To hell with what? You’re imagining if a future no one can prove, making you look concerned but really unknowable. How’s Nwaneri’s long-term development going. You’re virtue signalling rather than dealing in practicalities. We needed Nwaneri and maybe then we wouldn’t have needed Max. Right now Max is a better player than eithet Madueke or Martinelli. But fine, you’ve saved Max’s career by not playing him, you can feel smugly superior based on nothing. A ridiculous argument.
This has to be the record for a club heading the table for as long as we have only to not finish there.
Every fucking season. It’s a piss take. You just can’t do this four years in a row, it’s beyond cruel.

Yes, to hell with Max's long-term development and career cos he's become your panacea for all our attacking ills. Nevermind that, despite his glorious cameo against Everton, his lack of defensive instincts and awareness have come to the fore in a couple of appearances. A game against elite opposition like City is not the cauldron any serious manager will throw in a 16 year old, especially with psychological impact that none of us can begin to appreciate.
I missed the match, well I chose to walk the dog rather than give myself a night of 48 Rennie.
Were we bad, mediocre or unlucky?
Can we recover in the final matches or did we look shot?
We tried our best. Just not good enough. We lost it elsewhere, other games.
They did exactly what a January window exists for. Plug obvious holes in your squad. They did that pretty much to perfection.

Before the cup final I mentioned my PTSD from our team post-Invincibles often going out of multiple competitions in the space of a week or two. It's a damn good thing we took out Sporting because if we'd lost that we would've bowed out of four competitions in the space of six matches.
(he says knowingly looking at the 3 point gap at the top of the table with considerable consternation)
Had to the brief from Arteta, he does it well on the left side. Weird.
That's really odd. I just couldn't work out what we were hoping to achieve. Odegaard was absolutely correct in urging Martinelli to watch out for that.
Anybody confident we'll beat Newcastle next weekend?

Potential impact? The guy already has proved he’s got ice in his veins. But whatever. He can find a club that can nurture him better. Like Nwaneri here he’ll become a serial loser anyway. Madueke followed by Martinelli. How are their long-term careers going? What a waste of a position all game. That’s our level on the wings, no wonder many fans were screaming in desperation for a 16-year-old who at least can control a ball, dribble and deliver weighted passes.
You’re worrying about his long-term potential, I’m worrying about trying to win the game. That’s the difference.
I was aghast watching him do it twice, second time we got punished. There was no need for it. He just had to tuck in and help the full back contain Doku and O'Reilly.
Had to the brief from Arteta, he does it well on the left side. Weird.
Yes. Who lost 3-1 today to Forest. I suspect this is when C115 will take over the GD advantage.

It was quite a fight to get Gyokeres
Yeah Nelli was way out of position, they had so much space. Odegaard was pissed off, he knew it was an open seam.

But Dowman could have exploited those spaces. Of course it was asking too much but we were forced into that. Martinelli didn’t work out there, and Trossard coming on didn’t either. But his perfect cross for Havertz to head over was something at least.

We still have this in our hands, but I can't see how this percentage football will succeed in a few games.

I fear it won’t matter
Anybody confident we'll beat Newcastle next weekend?
No Saka again at the end of the season.
Serious injury. Achilles is not an injury to fuck with given it could have long-term repercussions. Not sure what point you're making. His hamstring last year and this latest injury are not related.
Also how did we suddenly find this performance, why couldn’t we do this against Bournemouth
I strongly suspect it's a lack of offensive coaching and player development as well.
Martinelli's worst excesses and limitations have never addressed... and Saka has also hit a plateau of sorts (inju...
Saka has peaked. He can barely run anymore.
Lack of pace upfront cost us bad the last seasons. Havertz - don't knock the guy he got the equalizer out of nothing - but he could have just nodded that through ball down and then clean in on goal
Leaving Odegaard on was a bad mistake.
Agree. Would like to see an analysis of his stats/game just to see if it is my perception that’s wrong or he was actually shit
No Saka again at the end of the season.
I dunno if that makes a difference this year.
It's the lack of technical ability and the number of injuries to key players. I'm afraid I find ot impossible to believe that Mikel overtrains our players.

That's such a stretch. It was a question of being compact. I just didn't see the need for Martinelli to take the position he did, allowing them to easily get the ball out which ultimately led to the second goal.
Beyond the Leeds game 5-0 at home and the derby wins, there aren't many games where we've turned it on going forward.
Because he did nothing of note.
It's the lack of technical ability and the number of injuries to key players. I'm afraid I find ot impossible to believe that Mikel overtrains our players.

It’s a monumental bottle this year
Understatement of the year. These last run of games has been truly disgraceful and Arteta shouldn't survive it if we end up empty handed again
A good plan but……we need someone who actually scores goals
And a few who can create them. This team can’t string three passes together right now.
We have one game breaking forward and there is a very real possibility the manager has broken him before he got near his peak.
That is the managers legacy.

Agreed. Though I’ve used it, the truth is this season we have looked the worst of the past four seasons. Saka at his best was a huge miss. Gyökeres so disappointing. I might need some time away from Arsenal/football
If this club were a family member, I would be ordained in my lifetime.

I've seen this film before and still invest in a different ending
Artetas recruitment has been fucking abysmal and he needs to go

What a summarisation of our approach to team building
Multitude of big chances this guy has missed over the last two seasons.
So - we still need scoring striker
Hit the post twice, and that was there on a plate. FFS.
Failure of recruitment in one moment.
We haven't scored from a corner since when everyone started to point out we scored from corners.
I knew we'd create one more.
Cheers Havertz.
Kai has to put it in - yet again he’s headed over
Second great chance Havertz has fucked.
Awful touch from Odegaard.
The bastards defend well.
Corner. Set piece FC time, please lord.
Beyond cool if we replace him (well, that is) but I really think reaching a CL final would merit consideration.
I just don't see how his position is tenable without a trophy.
Outside the area if it was anything
Agreed. Thought it was a FK though!
I seriously hope that new contract for Mik isn't a thing.

Where did they get this fucking ref from? Oh yea, Manchester that’s it

Trossard you eediat. How are you still at this club?
That touch was horrendous
Trossard you eediat. How are you still at this club?
I hope Bertha has cancelled Mikel's subscription to Defenders Monthly
I'll speak it into existence. We get one final big chance that we do or do not convert.
That Oreilly is some player tbf
Aye. Now it's no longer in our hands hopefully the pressure eases and City fumbles it somehow
They are looking increasingly less fumby whereas we ……..
Why don’t we just lump it
Very true. the liverpool and yanited home games stick in my mind too.
Slightly different class of opposition, though
But that was the major one where we did nothing.
Very true. the liverpool and yanited home games stick in my mind too.
We fucked it at home against Bournemouth.
Aye. Now it's no longer in our hands hopefully the pressure eases and City fumbles it somehow
If Arteta does stay, there needs to be a serious audit and some stern edicts from Berta.
We're gonna have to hope teams like Everton, Villa and Brentford can points off of C115!
There's a couple of games you could suggest where we fucked it.
But that was the major one where we did nothing.
There's a couple of games you could suggest where we fucked it.
That’s a season for you.
We fucked it at home against Bournemouth.
There's a couple of games you could suggest where we fucked it.
We fucked it at home against Bournemouth.
Fucked it several times this season. Could have been a double digit lead at one point.
Gyokeres has got a full ?ten minutes - but they have to get the ball to him
Wouldn't worry, it would probably bounce off him even if they did
We fucked it at home against Bournemouth.
Playing like it which is annoying. Taking Eze off was a big mistake - no one who can do what he does in middle
Can’t understand that sub
They scored 2 well worked goals, we scored a lucky goal but hit the post twice. Scores and stat suggest a close game but my eyes tell me we've been schooled
Gyokeres has got a full ?ten minutes - but they have to get the ball to him
A draw is an amazing result. Please fate, haven't we suffered enough.
It would be, not sure where it is coming from.
A draw is an amazing result. Please fate, haven't we suffered enough.
The players know it's over.
Playing like it which is annoying. Taking Eze off was a big mistake - no one who can do what he does in middle
Clambered all over guy but I don't think he did anything wrong after Haaland lashed out.
The players know it's over.
Gabriel can never fully rid himself of that bozo gene
Gabriel was lucky there. I know why he did it but he shouldn’t. We’ve got enough problems
What is Arteta waiting for
I think it's Haaland who got rattled there tbh.
But Gabriel head butted the borg
I think it's Haaland who got rattled there tbh.
Yeah, I've had enough 2nd place finishes
2nd place (I think yanited are far enough behind) and no trophies. God help us in the CL.
Who is this utter cunt of a commentator
Jon Champion
Who is this utter cunt of a commentator
No like for like. Put everyone on
Nah, I wont try to make something happen... I'll lay it off to my defender. Haven't been that pissed at Odegaard in a while... and I'm not short on material.
So we don't practice one twos in training? All we do is duel
Arteta has to throw the kitchen sink
Dowman for Ode
Get a proven winner to manage this team please.
Yeah, I've had enough 2nd place finishes
Someone bitch slap Martin for that laziness.
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT? LISTLESS BULLSHIT.
That Eze sub was nonsense
Get a proven winner to manage this team please.
10 mins of the season left
If only we stockpiled attackers like we did defenders
This season has been some high class bottling...no trophies no excuses. We have more chances of Burnley beating City and Arsenal winning the Champions League
Offside again. ODe taking way too long but Tross was miles off. Gyok to save us.
Arteta has to throw the kitchen sink
Feels like even if we nicked one we’d still drop too many points in the last 5 games
He keeps giving the ball away
And now holds the pass for way too long so everyone is offside
They are laughing their heads off at the moment
Yep, all the way to the championship
How the fuck can Bernardo Silva outpace Havertz? This performance has been shit in so many ways.
Oh it was Havertz handballing
Should have been Odegaard
He keeps giving the ball away
I can’t see City losing any more points
They won't. We will.
Of course we don't, but them going down will be the headline if we complete the bottling
They are laughing their heads off at the moment
Misdemeanour #116: manipulated size of goal
Felony
I can’t see City losing any more points
We don’t measure ourselves against them
Of course we don't, but them going down will be the headline if we complete the bottling
Is that goal the right size?
Misdemeanour #116: manipulated size of goal
Jesus I don't know who I or this club has fucked off for the woodwork to hate us too.
As I keep saying, we built our new stadium on an old Saxon burial ground.
Could be worse; we could be spuds
We don’t measure ourselves against them
Should have been Odegaard
Agree
Eze was great. Unlucky not to come away with more
Should have been Odegaard
Eze was great. Unlucky not to come away with more
Fuck off world. This is like some sadistic tease now.
Jesus I don't know who I or this club has fucked off for the woodwork to hate us too.
Is that goal the right size?
Twice we’ve hit it and been narrowly denied
Could be worse; we could be spuds
I don't care about them right now.
Is that goal the right size?
Moral of the story is that we have to take our fucking chances.
Fuck off world. This is like some sadistic tease now.
Could be worse; we could be spuds
Fuck off world. This is like some sadistic tease now.
Fuuuuck
This is excruciating
Ideally, we get a new a manager... but, in isolation, reaching domestic and European cup finals and almost winning the league in one season is commendable.
What the fuck is almost you moron ?
Post again. Fuck my life.
They'll pass us to death these remaining minutes
Got 25 yet
He'd have to win it. Not just make the final.

A draw would be huge but it's beyond doubt that this team can't deal with pressure. Club desperately needs a manager with some clout at the top of the game.
Having said that, if we get to the CL fina...
Whata trophy a final 😂

Positive spin - 4 times consecutive 2nd place. Is that a record, like Wenger's 4th place trophy?
An ignominious one. Definitive second place team of the PL era.

Having said that, if we get to the CL final it becomes harder to justify replacing Arteta.
These cunts were toying with us. This second half they stepped on our throats more and more.
Fucked around against Wolves and Bournemouth, now we're finding out
This is when we lost the league
These cunts will be top of the league when they slaughter Burnley on Wednesday
It's done. The league meant we had to win today, not draw.
Too many cowards in this team the captain being the main one
God I hate these fucking dicks
If the team you support could actually fucking close, you'd hate them just a little less.
These cunts will be top of the league when they slaughter Burnley on Wednesday
Until they score a third, I'm not giving up just yet.
Yup. Need some Eze magic
God I hate these fucking dicks
Until they score a third, I'm not giving up just yet.
What a surprise zubi losing his man
Wide open, no one anywhere near
Fucking crazy. Fucking shit.
Wow so commentator is Man City too
Yea I noticed that- what a fucking cunt
Not particularly impressed by Gabriel there but they were always going to score again at some point.
We lost the league against Bournemouth not today
Wide open, no one anywhere near
Wow so commentator is Man City too
Had to be that cunt didn't it?
Those bottles didn't go to waste
Fucking shit goal to give away. Playing like children.
Feel like defeats stop being glorious when they arrive in bulk during the worst possible periods.
It would so typical for a performance that somewhat exceeds expectations to end in pain.
Glourious defeat!
It would so typical for a performance that somewhat exceeds expectations to end in pain.
Gives them belief they can get at these Manc pricks
Anthony Taylor giving them too much.
Dishonest to his fucking federation
Ya have to feel the game was right there! :(
Was that pass from ode was a shock for him 😭
Ya have to feel the game was right there! :(
Third time will be the charm
Fuck off Taylor. If Eze flops to the ground there it probably gets called
Anthony Taylor giving them too much.
Fucking cunt Manc twat
Ya have to feel the game was right there! :(
Normally think the ref moaning is paranoia but fuck this shitbird with a rusty knife
Anthony Taylor giving them too much.
I may have to switch off before I get a heart attack
Ode refuses to go forward
Ebs that shot was a touch of magic, how the fuck did it not go in
Oh come on Eze! fuck sake
I thought it was a bad pass from Odegaard
Shit pass
Hope is fucking with me again.
And yet when we tackle and get the ball it's a foul 🤷
I think he slipped just at the worst possible time
oooooooooooooooooooooooo EZe
How was that not in
I thought it was a bad pass from Odegaard
Eze hits the post.
Desperately unlucky.
Don't think we will get another chance like this
oooooooooooooooooooooooo EZe
Ffs these chances are rarer than unicorn teeth
Part of me wants to rail on guy for not shooting but it was a good layoff to Havertz, I suppose.
You know that was the moment
That was it right there!!!!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
FUCKING HELL HOW DID THAT NOT GO IN
Sigh... that needed to end in a goal.
Thank goodness Donnarumma had the howler of the year then
This is dire
This is going like the cup game
This has that feeling of inevitability
Raya now thinks he's on the monkey bars
Yea I dunno why that was given?
Has to be played deliberately
Kosh getting a bit uncomfortable.
Again even though it was deflected off a city cunt.
Yea I dunno why that was given?
Again even though it was deflected off a city cunt.
We're not exactly getting many outs and that's why it's frustrating
Again even though it was deflected off a city cunt.
And yet when we tackle and get the ball it's a foul 🤷
Can't get out of our own half. Cup final 2.0
They're slowly aplying pressure and it's working.
And that’s not a foul on nelli?
Can't get out of our own half. Cup final 2.0
They are just technically vastly superior. This pattern shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone.
This is why the 'best team in Europe shit' is a bit bemusing.
We're so pined down, they're stepping up all the time.
Think both Havertz and him will tire out
18-yard box like a fucking shooting range at times. Ugh...
They are just technically vastly superior. This pattern shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone.
If this is the pattern for the next 40 mins...ugh
Eze will be our downfall today
Are we playing for the point?
Yup. Need to get some control
Eze needs to get rid sometimes
God
Eze needs to get rid sometimes
Eze caught out, we got lucky from a weak shot.
We've gotta get a grip of this game at some point.
I have no idea what's happened to our defending
Martinelli just fell over
I have no idea what's happened to our defending
Raya does not look comfortable on them either
FFS. We are struggling with their corners.
I have no idea what's happened to our defending
He’s been just as shit so far sadly - better fucking switch on
FFS. We are struggling with their corners.
Pep had a long chat with Silva, you can expect lots of diving from him
Yeah
As soon as Mosquera is 5 feet away from him, watch Silva jump into him and demand a yellow card be shown
Pep had a long chat with Silva, you can expect lots of diving from him
Just an absolutely hopeless footballer.
Tells you everything
Could you lovely people let me know when we've kicked off again please?
Switched to the WEC race at HT.
Now
Martinelli for Madueke, well done Super Mik
Proactive. Lovely stuff.
These fucking blue wankers
Just an absolutely hopeless footballer.
The worst part is that everyone knew this
Could you lovely people let me know when we've kicked off again please?
Switched to the WEC race at HT.
As we say in these parts: on a horse
Martinelli for Madueke, well done Super Mik
Excellent

Martinelli for Madueke, well done Super Mik
He’s fucking useless ain’t he?
Just an absolutely hopeless footballer.
I can’t quite imagine Mikel to tell the lads to clatter through Jerki’s ankles next time he goes on a dribble, but isn’t that precisely why we brought in Heinze?
Piero should've headed the ball out. But yes we need them fouling near the halfway line more often. No Eden Hazard Coquelin bs
I can’t quite imagine Mikel to tell the lads to clatter through Jerki’s ankles next time he goes on a dribble, but isn’t that precisely why we brought in Heinze?
Only if we're losing 3-1 with 2 minutes remaining
I can’t quite imagine Mikel to tell the lads to clatter through Jerki’s ankles next time he goes on a dribble, but isn’t that precisely why we brought in Heinze?
"Lads, it's crunch time!" 😉
City will come flying out in the second half, I hope Arteta doesn’t let the game drift. Has to make that sub.
We need to drag them into deep deep waters. Get rotational in the fouls, take our time on set pieces, really kill the momentum. Full haramball
He didn't need to grab Doku shirt in their half ffs. Such an unnecessary yellow
Yeah, he's been in a battle with Doku and did everything he could to stop him, probably didn't need to at that point.
Don't mention Rob Holding
That goal he scored, I will take something similar from Eze.
Maybe the second leg against Sporting helped Zubi get his mojo back, and Havertz and Ødegaard returning have made a difference.
I can’t quite imagine Mikel to tell the lads to clatter through Jerki’s ankles next time he goes on a dribble, but isn’t that precisely why we brought in Heinze?
I thought it was a harsh yellow.
He didn't need to grab Doku shirt in their half ffs. Such an unnecessary yellow
Don't mention Rob Holding
He was a monster in a back 3!
Holding on for dear life.
Don't mention Rob Holding
Not watching since I don’t want to be in a bad mood on the last night of skiing with the pontette. How are we doing?
I really don't trust White, but the change has gotta come don't trust Taylor not to look for an excuse to give Mosq a second yellow.
I thought it was a harsh yellow.
Difficult situation with Mosquera's yellow. Arteta will have to sub him for white at some point, maybe bring Nelli on for Madueke also for the extra defensive security and most other factors.
I really don't trust White, but the change has gotta come don't trust Taylor not to look for an excuse to give Mosq a second yellow.
Holding on for dear life.
Feels that way.
The way we started was organised, pressing them hard. Then it went out of the window by our seemingly lack of ability to defend well anymore.
Fire Madueke into the sun.
Rice and Saliba were good.
City not as good as my fears suggest but still feel on the edge.
He’s fucking useless ain’t he?
Fck the stroke, i think im getting an ulcer
Holding on for dear life.

Rice and Saliba were good.

With you on this

I can go for a pee now!! Are we playing well enough to beat C115eh? Not sure. But we should have played like this in other recent games. e.g., Bournemouth.
This. It goes back to that Forest result.
Difficult situation with Mosquera's yellow. Arteta will have to sub him for white at some point, maybe bring Nelli on for Madueke also for the extra defensive security and most other factors.
You were invited to Blogs 90th?
😁
Fire Madueke into the sun.
Rice and Saliba were good.
City not as good as my fears suggest but still feel on the edge.
😃
You were invited to Blogs 90th?
I think we'll all be feeling 90yrs old by full-time
Rice and Havertz are the only ones who look calm out there.
Eze had some good touches to keep the ball also.
Fire Madueke into the sun.
Rice and Saliba were good.
City not as good as my fears suggest but still feel on the edge.
I'm at a 90th dinner party, so not watching this is more relaxing
You were invited to Blogs 90th?
Even game, maybe City just edged it due to Cherki.
Aye
I can go for a pee now!! Are we playing well enough to beat C115eh? Not sure. But we should have played like this in other recent games. e.g., Bournemouth.
They look like they've got much more of a cutting edge than us.
Pleased we got to HT level.
I think ill have a stroke in second half
Me and you both km
I'm at a 90th dinner party, so not watching this is more relaxing
I've gone through 4L of water and it's only halftime. God have mercy on us
I think ill have a stroke in second half
Think it's probably safe to say that Madueke was not a good very signing at this point lol.
I don't know about that.
He's been very effective at breaking down every Arsenal attack and recycling the ball for City.
Even game, maybe City just edged it due to Cherki.
Thank fuck I can catch a breath now
Well, I would have taken that before KO.
I would like Martinelli to come on. There is a lot of space on their left
This
Think it's probably safe to say that Madueke was not a good very signing at this point lol.
Dumb as a rock. That's his problem.

What has happened to Saliba!?
Mental
Rice and Havertz are the only ones who look calm out there.
What has happened to Saliba!?
At least it's reasonably competitive atm.
Yup. Havertz is providing a real outlet, need more from Madueke though
Man this too nerve wracking
At least it's reasonably competitive atm.
City corners are very good.
Man this too nerve wracking
We allowing him to run through the middle at us just like that?
Like statues
Why did we have Zubi marking Haaland that last corner?
And again….
We allowing him to run through the middle at us just like that?
Why did we have Zubi marking Haaland that last corner?
Ball comes out from a corner to Madueke. The big lads are in the box, why wouldn't he just put it back in? He's an absolute fucking moron.
We can't defend!
Good last ditch block though.
Why does the commentator keep calling Madueke “Mosquera”?
Think the defender got ahead of him
Great ball, well timed run
Transition looking an issue in the few sequences I've seen.
Get norgaard on and take zubi and ode off bloody awful ..move eze into middle
We can't make simple passes now.
They look terrified to have the ball at their feet.
We can't make simple passes now.
Kept an eye on the score before tuning in. Good to see an immediate riposte to conceding.
How've we fared?
Bright start, then concede. Did well to get an equaliser. Citeh in the ascedency
Mossy booked, you know Taylor will send him off
Kept an eye on the score before tuning in. Good to see an immediate riposte to conceding.
How've we fared?
Being run through. Zubi been awful
Kept an eye on the score before tuning in. Good to see an immediate riposte to conceding.
How've we fared?
It’s on a knife edge. Not for the weak of heart.
Kept an eye on the score before tuning in. Good to see an immediate riposte to conceding.
How've we fared?
We look so scared in possession
Chance to play Rice in wasted
We look so scared in possession
Take zubi off he's a disgrace in there
Can't the ref blow the FT whistle now!!??
Let's hope he's the hero today, not the vilan.
One fucking ball just opens us up
Not much tackling going on
One fucking ball just opens us up
Ball was out there surely
Thought so
Ball was out there surely
That’s should have been a foul on Gabriel
Some excellent passes already
That move with Madueke with the over hit return pass was v nice - would’ve been a cracking goal if Madueke could play that 1-2
Ebs playing very centrally which is good
Yes but no pace on the left wing, now.
citeh finding it quite easy to play through us.
Ebs playing very centrally which is good
Some excellent passes already
We are playing on the front foot, the defense need to sorry itself though
So am I but I don't have any
I wont either by half time
Ebs playing very centrally which is good
Im lying on couch literally pulling my hair out...
So am I but I don't have any
I put the first goal down in a big way to Piero heading it back to the danger area
Im lying on couch literally pulling my hair out...
Piero not doing a good job
No one came to help him though
Yup not getting much help from Eze
Went for the deflection for a corner
No one came to help him though
Going to be a lot of those....
I fear you're right...... don't know if my old ticker can take it!!
Going to be a lot of those....
Don't know if I can take it!
Going to be a lot of those....
You saw him think about whether or not to chase and then he absolutely launched at it - great move
His movement from the start has been refreshing.
You saw him think about whether or not to chase and then he absolutely launched at it - great move
Wake up call of sorts I guess
Donnarumma is a useless cunt with the ball at his feet.
Still replaying the 115 goal here!
How did he get through the entire defense
I thought we were playing well, too :'(
Started well I thought and then that... fuck it
Not well enough.
Started well I thought and then that... fuck it
No one putting in a tackle.
We used to be able to defend.
Fuck. Eze pulls out ofnthe challenge.
Havertz off but what a bad touch
He must be thankful the flag was up
Havertz off but what a bad touch
Raya gets booed for taking too long on the free kick, then Donna takes even longer, ha ha 🤷
Odegaard’s trademark scoop , not a bad idea
may your kids be beautiful
"safety first" pass to raya who immediately puts it out of play 😂
Annoying!
please someone send me a link
Why pass it back to Raya ffs!
"safety first" pass to raya who immediately puts it out of play 😂
please someone send me a link
please someone send me a link
I am liking Havertz movement, just need to be clinical
Why pass it back to Raya ffs!
We absolutely HAVE to score the first goal
Odegaard should do better with that ball
We've played like cunts in the first five minutes
Last 5 games if you ask me
Fuck me this is not good for the heart
We've played like cunts in the first five minutes
Well we have not started well
Could be a penalty incoming
CLEARED.
Could be a penalty incoming
Living a very charmed life
Anyone got a working stream?
I think your idea is better
Actually they call it Moonbeam
Fuck off ya blue moon cunts!
So here we are. Let’s see if this team has what it takes. Come on guys, show em what you’re made of 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Arse!
Be lucky probably Bruce.
My buddy is traveling in Italy. Anyone know what channel it is on over there? He said Sky Sports Football switched to fucking fencing?!
Probably first arse wins as well, as BrF5ce gets more first arses than anyone else!
Arse
WiB! FoB! Be lucky.
Eze on the left, Kai up top, a bold move.
COYGs!
....bruce has the an incomparable record to 1st-Arse losses over the last 3 seasons!
(we are fucked basically!)
Ffs

OF ALL FUCKING DAYS!
??

OF ALL FUCKING DAYS!
I am ready for a Eze masterclass
Slot had the nerve to complain about our set-piece reliance. I've made the mistake to watch last 15 mins of the scouse derby and it was worse football then I've ever seen us play.
Van Cunt scores the winner
Nicely done. Gave Spurs hope and snatched it back
Just like Sp*rs did to themselves yesterday 😂🤣
Sound of nails in the Spurs coffin
They will get louder and louder
Sound of nails in the Spurs coffin
Excited to see Eze and Ode on the pitch at the same time.
"the best most corrupt team and the manager that this league has ever see"
fixed it.
Big risk starting Ødegaard IMO
Pep: "if we lose, it's over"
Me: "if we lose, it's over"
😂 Its funny how both sides might feel that way when there will still be 15 (18 for them) points left to play for afterwards.
Re. Dowman.
The first major appearance from Lewis Skelly was a late cameo against ¢115eh and it was an eye opening revelation of a performance. Young players can be capable of surprising you on occasions like this.
If we don't start him we should at least throw Max on if we need something late on.
I like that Odegaard and Eze will be on the pitch together.
And Havertz. Is this the first time they’re all together? What a time to try something new!
Nicely done. Gave Spurs hope and snatched it back
Arse!
Bruce?!? Heh, jumpin Jebus, Bruce!! Be lucky... be very fucking lucky.
Not enough exclamation points on the "gulp", Blogs.
Odegaard back is so so important and our challenges building from the back.
Mosquera v Doku is a bit scary.
I like that Odegaard and Eze will be on the pitch together.
I’d rather Mosaquera than the Ben White of the Carabao Cup final.
I'd rather Timber over both of them
Odegaard back is so so important and our challenges building from the back.
Mosquera v Doku is a bit scary.
I’d rather Mosaquera than the Ben White of the Carabao Cup final.
Gotta beware of that kid O'Reilly
That’s why Mosquera and Madueke are there. Physically they can handle him, but Doku’s also tricky and both our players have mistakes in them. I think it’s more about whether Madueke does enough the other way. None of this shambolic running it out of play, or besting the defender then checking back. Has to be direct and shoot on sight.
Forest equalizer.......
They need to win, put pressure on Spuds
Come on you Forest!
VVD has this knack of getting away from where the danger is.
Performative defender.
Forest equalizer.......
They need to win, put pressure on Spuds
Odegaard back is so so important and our challenges building from the back.
Mosquera v Doku is a bit scary.
Subs: Kepa, Dowman, Jesus, Gyok, MLS, Martinelli, Norgaard, Trossard, White
C115eh's forward line is worrying
Gotta beware of that kid O'Reilly
Timber would have been ideal for this. Still a strong bench.
Team to play Arsenal: Donnarumma, Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi, O'Reilly, Rodri, Bernardo, Cherki, Semenyo, Doku, Haaland.
Cunts!
Team to play Man City: Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard; Madueke, Havertz, Eze
I have to give Arteta credit for going with that front four. The idea is they keep possession better. Madueke surely is due a good game and Eze on the left should get closer to goal (and I think he might link well with Hincapié).
Feels like a last throw of the dice to be honest. Only one way to find out but that front four HAVE to take their chances.
Nice. Bit worried about the right side, hopefully Noni can justify his selection.
C115eh's forward line is worrying

Strongest team selection possible imo.
Eze on LW?
Fuck these cheating cunts!
90 dark minutes upon them! (shakes fist threatingly at the screen of the mobile)

I don’t know about fatigue. I would say Rice and Zubi have played a lot. Everyone else have been rotated a lot. Gabriel and Saliba should be expected to play this many games
Oh sorry! lol Little bit early yet.
Nerves, bloody nerves...
Saka out. He suffers in the last part of seasons doesn’t he.

Small mercy eh?

I wish this game was on at stupid o'clock so I could easily be giving it a miss
I agree. But Timber always does this before a game. Is he even available today?
Oh does he? Ahhh ok! That makes it a little different then.
Looking at Flashscore only Merino (obvs) and Saka are listed as will not play, but can't always rely on that.
I'd rather they didn't say anything tbh and just get it done on the pitch.
I agree. But Timber always does this before a game. Is he even available today?

Excellent
They have to play C115eh at home
No goal, offside
That should have been Everton not everyone.

Nothing new there then

Havertz in midfield or #10 doesn't work. Hope he works at CF today but from what I have seen, he is nowhere close to being physically strong the way he was before the injuries.
I will still go with him up top with Martinelli right and Trossard left. We cannot have the scenario from the cup finals when we had zero outlet.
I think we do the needful today. As much as the tactics are annoying against relegation fodder, we've improved against top six sides.
Last season this might have been appropriate but this season we’ve lost to Liverpool, United, City

I have a good feeling about today.
That bounces in from Haaland's unnaturally long head. 🤸
And off Silva's shin.
Yeah, a bit too ambitious. Built for a much bigger Madrid. Too much walking.

It is very tempting as a prospect for the short corners. We have to keep them guessing and second-guessing
I think there was one game where the combination seemed to work well and everyone got excited about the prospect but since then it hasn’t looked so great
It hasn’t really been given a chance to be fair!
Havertz is a link player and at the moment he’s the only one who really looks like he ‘gets’ Gyokeres movement or …lack of it. He actually makes Gyokeres play on the few occasions they’ve been played together.
https://m.youtube.com/shorts/Gvnt97td8DgAs blogs said: "We need go there and remember the 32 games we’ve played before this one, where we’ve scored goals, taken more points that anyone else, defended like absolute bastards, and been the team that everyone is chasing."
For all the negative criticism of our play this season, we're where we are because we deserve to be. I know we're going through a relatively bad spell, but we've still progressed in the Champions League despite that.
It seems that we could be like Chelski under the Roman Empire, with 1000 players in the first team squad, and 991 of them would be carrying injuries. I sometimes wonder if the new stadium was built on an old Saxon burial ground, because that's when our fortunes deserted us. But we know that we can beat anyone on our day, so it's up to El Jefe and the players to make it our day.
I disagree. I don’t think they play well together at all. And neither can hold onto the ball

Well in Bruce
Be very lucky
The times they’ve been on the pitch together (which has been minimal) it’s worked.
No it hasn’t! There was one moment at the very end of Sporting away, barring that I can’t remember us looking particularly good with both on. It also leaves you with a midfield of Rice-Zubi-Havertz which is technically not good enough and would have no hope of passing through City.
Still, rather see that than the doomed front three we keep playing recently

Wasn't that more of a 442 at the time? I don't remember exactly.

Havertz with Gyokeres and Madueke as the three forward players could work.
Havertz gels with Gyokeres.

I'd 100% play for a 0-0 and nick a goal from a corner if possible. Not suggesting Arteta will do that (who knows?!) but just my opinion. If it ends 0-0 I'll be very happy.
I don't have the mental energy to watch the game live today. So I'll catch the result on here and watch MOTD if we win!
If I had to predict anything - I think it will be a valiant one goal loss. We'll go down fighting, but go down all the same.
But...... who knows. Fingers crossed.
If Gyokeres was anonymous at home against Liga NOS centre backs, how is he going to contribute away against Guehi, Rodri, Dias, Khusanov?

Has to be Havertz. If we rock up with Madueke Nelli Gyok again, there is genuinely no hope
Fair point, still have the Rice corners from the left though. I wonder if he'd be able to take them from the right as well.
Madueke has been really good at his corners, much to my surprise. I was interested by the insistence on short corner variations though vs Southampton which mostly were quite effective or at least "promising". A couple of those against the packed Citeh box might be clever.
Raya
Mosquera/Timber Saliba Gabriel Hincapie
Zubimendi
Rice Eze
Madueke Gyokeres Havertz
Ay, I think selection is key there. If we go with a mix of Gyok, Madueke and Martinelli we're toast.
I don't think Arteta is going to experiment though, or else I'd have Havertz, Eze and Gyökeres in the same team with Dowman on the right.
Ay, I think selection is key there. If we go with a mix of Gyok, Madueke and Martinelli we're toast.
Agreed.
I honestly worry if Trossard and/or Madueke start. Madueke has the strength to defend, Martinelli too, but I don't know who out of those three can make anything of the chances they will get.
Never mind Arteta having a plan, it's up to the midfield and forwards to hold on to the ball and make the most of whatever chances arise. We'll know soon enough how well they'll do in that. Got to tak...

I think our set piece success has more to do with our consistently excellent delivery than th size of the players in the box. With Saka out we are noticeably worse from corners on that side

I just hope Arteta has a plan for how to get out of our own half today.

Not going to the game or not watching at all?
Not watching at all. Currently huddled in the car sheltering from the rain in between games for the eldest at a tournament, so might not make it home in time for kickoff anyway but the combination of how much this means + how fucking shithouse we're playing + how many critical players are missing (either in body or merely in performance) + how much I hate Citeh = cannot watch, too unbearable.

Find it more stressful not watching. My imagination goes bananas ....four of our players sent off...conceded 3 in the first five minutes...season ending injuries to our five key players...Patrick of own goals from our centre back....
Arse. Be lucky Brucie!
Think it would genuinely increase our winning chances to play the big lads at both fullback positions. Simply put, our main strength is still our set pieces. Imagine the line up : Gabi, Saliba, Hincapie, Mosquera, Havertz, Rice, Zubimendi. Martinelli and Trossard for the snap shots during scrambles. I think their makeshift defense will have their hands full.
It reminds me of one of Fabio Vieira's best moments in an Arsenal shirt, the final penalty in the Charity Shield shoot-out against C115y. Slammed it into the roof of the net. Risky, but when it comes off, unstoppable. Omen?
Was quite anxious but just received an e-mail from the Arsenal media team saying "Full Focus"- so I'm alright now.
I delete those poxy emails
Raya
Mosquera Saliba Gabriel Hincapie
Zubi Rice Odegaard
Martinelli Havertz Eze
Is what I’d pick assuming Odegaard is back. We have absolutely no ball progression so one of MLS/Odegaard needs to start otherwise we aren’t getting out of our half. I suspect the manager would rather start a half fit Odegaard than start MLS over Hincapie
I think White has not come close to his best this season, looked poor v City the other week, if Timber isn’t fit I’d say Mosquera is better defensively than White right now but offers 0 going forward (obviously he is a centre back)
Arse.
No way I'm watching this. We're in such laughably poor form, I can't see any way we win and a draw feels wholly dependent on Citeh playing down to our level. All the best to those heading up. ...

Shame they send a full focus one before the Bournemouth game and Forest away for that matter -if they had this afternoon could only have been half focus.
I'd go with Ben White.
As for United, one game a week means you have that extra energy and time to work on the training ground.
And one game a week is generous...
I'd go with Ben White.
As for United, one game a week means you have that extra energy and time to work on the training ground.
I just think Man City will see Ben White as an easy target to put the ball through and in behind. He really doesn’t scan enough. If you watch him closely, he ball-watches far too much. I really like him on the overlap, but for me he’s off the pace when defending at the moment.
Yeah, I agree with the single game a week advantage , but all the time in the world wouldn’t fix Man Utd under Amorim. Same squad… but a manager who in the space of 6 months has sorted them out pretty well. Yesterday, their passing and movement was really impressive. They controlled the game.

His recent performances have been worryingly far off his usual high level though
Watched Man Utd play yesterday and have to say, they moved the ball around brilliantly. The best I’ve seen them in a long long time. Carrick has really sorted them out. Chelsea were better second half...

We need to see the ball today and not only that, we need to pass and move. If we allow City to control the game again then we are in trouble.
Arteta needs to get the tactics right. If he wants David Raya to have the most touches of the ball again, then he’s going to undo all the hard work of the entire season. Not once did the Man Utd keeper feel the need to stand on the ball yesterday.
If Timber is not fit, I honestly would not play Ben White there right now. He really switches off. Mosquera would be my choice.
Would be stoaked if we win
What wood you give for him to be fit?
A tree-mendous question.
Pretty much everything… I’m pining for his return!

Feel nervously exhausted. Handling work with watching the match might be a double-edged sword.
Mind you, at some point it threatened to be a lot worse on the work side, so should be easier to combine, with also less risk of fucking up work if too distracted by the game…
Such a good game. Saw the full match. A right ding-donger. Proper cup tie. A welcome distraction last night.
Id like to heavily sedate until game is over and awake to a lovely Arsenal victory.

Lets do this.
I've never bet on us to win I've bet on us to win, part of a treble: Norwich, Man U, Arsenal.
Feeling positive; darkest before the dawn.
Pressure is on Man City. At some point, that will manifest itself.
That's what I'm sticking with.
