I’m feeling really low just in my own life with this ADHD medication I wish I’d never started. Somehow, Arsenal’s calamity is like the mirror to this struggle in my emotional life. Yesterday was a result no one can defend, hence all the pent up rage exploding at the manner of defeat and the expectation now that we’re gonna blow it. Arteta can stop begging fans to support. Time for him and the team to give us reason to cheer, or this project is over. Would be a sad end to 6 years of building. Please don’t go out like this.
Over 1600 arses. Shows the level of feeling
Aye, 'twas a rough night as it has been whenever we've shat the bed since January. No matter how tired I am or how late I go to bed, I wake up around 4am feeling hot and bothered, and then I remember Arsenal's performance as the cause of it.
How is everyone coping this morning.
Woke up at 3:30 am and wondered why.
Then it all came back to me. Couldn't go back to sleep.
Was thinking the players and manager will be really feeling sorry for themselves and couldn't have slept well at all.
Trying my best to block out all football media etc
Going to be a tough month.
It's 07:13. I can't get no sleep! No tearing off tights with my teeth, though! Just a quiet hope that Chelsea will do us an enormous favour today despite the unwelcome LinkedIn Liam jibes on here.
The dog woke me up at 6.30 so I could watch her vomit on the floor and then take her outside for some serious diarrhoea.
Still better than watching the Arsenal.
Sounds as if your dogs bowel movement is more fluid than our tactical approach.

"has Everton for 20 million in 2 years written all over him" I believe it was
Haha maybe you meant Foden though 😂
I actually blame you for slagging off O'Reilly when the cunt will probably score a few more important goals for man city before the end of the season
lol i'll own that one
This has been our easiest run at the title since 2022 and we are fucking shit so it doesnt matter
Brilliant point. Makes it worse.
2022 we could at least compartmentalise by blaming it all on rob holding

I've been having problems sleeping for a few weeks. Today's result is going to make it worse cos there'll be lots of turning (in my mind, at least) but definitely no tossing!
It feels like we are Ali at the end of his career taking a battering on the ropes, except we don't have the title belts.
imagine we didn't play like cowards at forest (good point apparently). or implode away to wolves.
Agreed
He's still a bald cunt
the only way to prevent raya seeing such an excessive amount of the ball is to give him the #9 shirt.
Two keepers playing exactly in that programmed way suggests it's tactical. A diabolical one.
imagine we didn't play like cowards at forest (good point apparently). or implode away to wolves.
Ah, you had to say it, didn't you? I've been chewing over those two results over the past few weeks cos of the margin they could have provided. Add Brentford to that. Just like Hincapie's mis-control against Villa, Saka's mis-control led to an unnecessary throw which resulted in their goal. Shite, shite and more shite.
Double chins up.
All is not lost.

Ssshhhhh, Arteta might read the Arse!
Raya had 49 passes, the second highest after Rice with 50. FFS.

Without Semenyo and Guehi they're probably 6 points worse off.
That's what annoys me about this bald cunt. Lucky enough to be able to spend his way out of a tight spot

Supping a 9% porter right now called "Yeti" very, very good. Starting to give less of a fuck.

We can reach 88pts if we win all ours.
*As if
Can't we at least get a fucking Semenyo injury
C115eh can only reach 85 points if they win ALL their remaining 8 games.

Gyokeres said the dry pitch didn’t help. I don’t think that was the problem but why is our pitch not optimal?
Bournemouth didn't mind it.

Sounds quite interesting, cheers for the suggestion, I'll give it a watch tonight.
30 Days of Night, but yeah, excellent film, including the lovely Melissa George.
30! You're right yeah
Thought the vampires were proper scary in it. Apparently they took inspiration from sharks in the designs
Always liked 40 days of night as a vampire movie. Danny Houston was brilliant as a horrible cunt vampire

I haven't seen Sinners, but the South of America does have a tradition of vampire literature. True Blood, Interview with a Vampire TV series, etc.

I guess it is just the premise and location in the deep south that makes seem a bit incongruent, if that makes sense but based on what you guys say I'll give it a watch.
The constant plinking of a piano on the background was very annoying.
I usually think Kermode is spot on in his reviews, but he said the soundtrack is great.
It's fucken awful

Worst film I have seen ages. I fell asleep what a pile of absolute shite.

Just heard the term 'battle cock' in reference to Spuds stadium. Didn't know that's what that chicken was supposed to be.
Heh! I hears that. My bro said that’s what you get when it’s programmed by AI
Good stuff it's not just me
Wife says the soundtrack is driving her mad 😂

OK I'll give it a shot, unlike Arsenal. Lolz. Cheers.

All due respect, they're all part of the team who let it slip previously and look like they might now. Honestly very few I'd be sad to see go.
Havertz, Ødegaard, White, Martinelli, Trossard, Zubimendi, Madueke. Four of those have serially disappointed. But too many to move at once. Easier to change manager, the common denominator. Would like to see whether this squad can play flowing football. It’s the lack of instinctive, improvised passing, has to be a manager thing more than players’ limitations. And if it is the players, well who picked them? Who saw Havertz and thought “free flowing”. Who decided to spend £45m on an understudy to Saka who lacks flow as well? A shame.
Sean penn won a fucking oscar for that? Looked like a coked out wreck
Sinners was brilliant, deserved all the acclaim.

Heh, you certainly have your hands full. I've been there! It gets better mate. My youngest is 31 today he's gutted with the result though so not an ideal gift. I agree there are no easy games left for them, but sadly they are hitting form and will have smelled blood, still they have shat the bed before, hope they do so a gain, I just hate that we are cheering on those Chavy cunts.

Saliba hasn’t done a lot wrong this season. Losing a top 3 defender at worst is not helpful.

Tbf, City drew their two last PL games and we'd been on a small win streak prior to Bournemouth. Still feel like City has some slips here and there.

There may be another twist or two before the end of the season, hopefully in our favour. I'm preparing myself for the worst though. It's just as well I've two boys to look after who are turning two years old soon, otherwise I think this season would turn me into an alcoholic wreck
Binged Southland, what a fucking brilliant show, better than The Shield.
Love LA Noir/Crime stuff, though.
What's it on?
I do believe though if we bottle this prepared for guys like Saliba to make their move

Not really a fair assessment, of course I still want our team to win, but I just think it is a very tall order based on the lack of form and recent performances. Just calling it as I see it. Three shots on target, one. a penalty is a fucking joke. Now we can't afford to lose next weekend especially if they win at the Bridge tomorrow.
From unheimlich to vergegenwärtigung: the latent horror in my head becomes the horror in the room.
Emotionally, this is the worst season I've experienced so far. So far. It's the hope that kills you.
That was dire. We tried hard in the stadium today to lift them but Bournemouth were better throughout. Benny and Havertz were slow, Zoobs' passing was off, Big Vic was in no.5's pocket.
But worst of all, there was an abject lack of fluidity. We have been drilled so much to playing a certain way that when a teams set up against us with a coherent plan, whether it's bypassing the midfield a la Southampton or having a four-man forward press like Bournemouth or Man City, we don't seem to have the tools to respond. Why couldn't we find space in the midfield to beat the press? It was awful, and yet, familiar.
We went from plan A, the usual patient build up, to plan C, aimless long balls to nowhere. Where was the plan B?
It is so depressing.
We need to fucking take it to Man City. No fear.

I found it quite funny in its shambolic mess - unlike Arsenal. But I did watch on a fuzzy stream. Thought Leo Di Cap was funny. But Sean Penn shouldn’t have won the Oscar though his character was weirdly ridiculous hamming. Delroy Lindo in Sinners deserved it imo.

I said it last week and I’ll say it again. These players and this manager have a chance to get it done and be heroes or let it slip and forever be known as bottlers. Ask Slippy G how that feels. It’s that simple. As fans we’re at their mercy and will have to live with it.

Kai, Noni, that Ukraine guy we were prepared to spend mucho denari on until his agent told him to go to Chavs, these are all attackers that Arteta wanted.
Even the ones we're being linked with are so underwhelming and functional.
Silver lining - is there a chance that today's performance was so abject and devoid of anything worthy of elite level professional football for a club with lofty ambitions that it will shake Arteta and the players out of their caution and passivity? A wake up call where caution is thrown to the wind?
Attacking players must surely not enjoy playing in this team right now!
On one hand, I don't think they're as good as we need; on the other hand, it's hard not to imagine what a more attack-oriented coach, like Papa Wengz, would get more out of them.
Attacking players must surely not enjoy playing in this team right now!
It certainly doesn't look like they do.

I agree.
I get it, but how often do the forwards receive the ball quickly without two opponents on their back?
The system asks them to do too much.
The system absolutely hobbles the attack. Arteta views his attackers as defenders first and attackers as a secondary bonus.
Look what Martinelli did midweek; some of these guys are capable of more, and I want their professional pride to want them to attack like that in spite of Arteta's gruelball system.
I've said it ad nauseam, but this season Sakas average position has appeared more often than not closer to the corner flag than the goal.
For a lefty on the right, that is completely nonsensical and happens every game so has to be by design.
How do you expect your forwards to succeed in such an environment.
Really don't care if any or all of the so-called forwards left in the summer.

I am just now seeing the bring your lunch, dinner quotes from Arteta. He should ask the fans to bring their sleeping bags next time.
Enough of that shite talk. The fans will be up for it given what's at stake; we don't need quotes, however well-meaning, which will only lead to idiotic banter and hostage to fortune.
Really don't care if any or all of the so-called forwards left in the summer.

Exactly. Professional pride to motivate them to run through brick walls. It's a joke how those who've left him down the most have kept their places, but one mistake from others, and they quickly cast aside.

Some of these players have absolutely downed tools, and most of them should be dropped if there were other options.

There are without doubt a couple of complete charlatans, masquerading as Arsenal 'fans' for career purposes also both being used by Sky Sports as talking heads and fan reps.
I think Sophie Nicolau is quite balanced.
Some of those players weren’t good enough but still: a defensive mistake will cost you your place in the team. But creating absolutely fuck all offensively won’t. That’s the problem and the mindset.
Thing is the punishment isn't always applied. This is what, the 3rd, 4th goal we concede from a player running off Zubimendi? He's kept his place all the same, despite all the talk of his minutes and fatigue etc. Saka did also fail to track back on two or three goals. White also, could have gone for Mosquera in light of his recent lapses. Need to light a fire under some of these players' arse.
I've said before, the excuse that it's on X (and YouTube) so they can be ignored itself ignores how this has become a fashion. There are any number of podcasts now and some very sophisticated graphics...

The sidelining of Eze after Villa suggests there's a fear of being cast aside if you make a mistake. Reminds me of his treatment of players who fall out of favour. For instance, I thought Pepe could become a forward like Van Persie if coached properly. His finishing was excellent, so I was intrigued by the possibility. Instead, they destroyed his confidence by bringing in Willian just as Pepe was finding his groove.
Other players cast out into the cold include Zinny, Tierney and Ethan.
We haven't got may. How often have two of those three players been on the pitch at the same time?

Ødegaard did just for multiple seasons. Whatever about his current form, he is just that.
Zubimendi has excellent passing range but is stymied somewhat as a deep lying playmaker.

I've said before, the excuse that it's on X (and YouTube) so they can be ignored itself ignores how this has become a fashion. There are any number of podcasts now and some very sophisticated graphics and claims of coaching knowledge. The only reason I keep going on about it is that some of it does echo what gets said in defence of Arteta.
An example is the narrative that Zubimendi is the best No 6 in thr world, that his vision, positioning and ability to read the game is second to none. But when he continues to fail, the excuses are very much the same all round. It's because he's exahuasted, not used to playing so many games etc.
Blogs said lower down that we don't progress the ball centrally because we don't have any creative midfielders. Is Zubimendi not considered a creative midfielder? I thought he was. Madueke on the right can barely carry the ball or pass with any regularity. He honestly makes me pine for Pepe, because Pepe had more skill.
The "nerdy tacticos" is really me saying that football commentary in general has been heavily influenced by these young internet savvy people with cliched words and phrases they've smuggled in pretending they've always been about and they keep excusing these performances when most can see (or rather many of us fear) where this is going.
If it happens, it happens. The one thing that's true and on the money is for anyone to invest their self-worth and emotional state on the performances and results of multi-millionaires who, quite understandably, don't really care either way, is foolish. I've done so for my own mental health issues, this looking back to the place I grew up, this connection to home.
But that doesn't require Arsenal to win anything, it doesn't change the past. If I feel old, life has passed me by, that's on me. And I'm sorry as well, as far as me being on edge. That's down to me being on medication for ADHD which wears off and which, tbh, if horrible and I really need to get off it and return to some more natural ways of keeping my mind right.
Sorry for the long post and apologies for getting worked up. I hope we still go on to win the league, I hope I get to share some joy with fellow Gooners In London and across the world. But if it doesn't happen, life will go on, there are plenty, plenty of other things I need to be concerning myself with.
I feel some tough love needs to be served PDQ

It'll toughen them up, build their character... [Vietnam thousand yard stare]
I think I'll have to go and lie down in a dark room.
I'm still angry
Very angry.
The line-up today offered no control, just speed on the wings, but no one making accurate through balls.
The same line-up has been found wanting time and again. Why did Mikel think it would work today?
Ødegaard, Eze, Nwaneri (arguably).
That is a legit weird take.
We haven't got may. How often have two of those three players been on the pitch at the same time?
For years I've wanted speed and ball carriers. Martinelli was our only speed merchant until Madueke joined. Neither offers control.
We really haven't invested in a player that can carry the ball and draw players to create space, except for Eze.
Oh and our throw-ins, really make me want to fucking throw-up.
And why do you think we don't have creative midfielders (bar Odegaard)?
The same reason why we don't prioritise ball carriers - to minimise risk.
I'm not going to change my mind, if it works this season, fine, but I really don't want this style of minimal risk to continue. It has its place, but it shouldn't be dictate our style of play.
Teams have figured us out. Press and push us out wide, double up on the wingers and Arsenal will go backwards or get a corner.

Why are we letting the opposition score with so few chances? We're not even solid at the back any more. Oh yeah, silly me we have a porous midfield.

Heh! I've already posted about it, but I can't be arsed to find it.
Today was frightening in terms of banality of our play, too many players not making the effort if the skill wasn't there, inability to adjust tactics and go long in the face of Bournemouth's press (same against City) because they're so wedded to a rigid system of play... for all of Wenger's faults, he prided himself on giving the players license to come up with solutions themselves. This lot seem to lack autonomy and, hence, invention and spontaneity.
"Bournemouth steal Arsenal's lunch" or something
Haha they did that and their dinner.
"Bournemouth steal Arsenal's lunch" or something
The fans brought their lunch and dinner. Arsenal provided the dysentery.
Hah! This comment he made was always going to be used by the press if we lost. Had a feeling when I read the prematch press conference
We don't attack centrally because we don't have any creative midfielders. Or just one, sometimes.
We have a midfield????
Or maybe we just don't attack centrally because that is our tactic

If I were him, I'd be considering torture at this point. Dunk their heads in water buckets, electric shocks, flog them I dunno. Do or die at this point, none of that coddling positivity nonesense. And that's coming from a psychiatrist.

Apart from the quality of the players itself, do we have even have any recognized attacking patterns, passing combinations apart from horseshoe ball and set pieces? We do not even attack centrally because we don't have a quality dribbler who can take on opposition players, create space and deliver the final action, whether it be a shot or assist.

He is a proper Chelsea fan, would revel in the opposite
Watch us become prime Barca if City gets ahead
Have a horrible feeling that this will be the case. We will excel once the pressure is off
Our defense had been rock solid but unfortunately it’s gone to shit as well.
I'd switch Rice to DM, put MLS left 8, retain the rest of today's team. Zubi is becoming a weak link
I’m going to wish you all a happy evening, I’m off to the Chelsea supporting father in laws 70th birthday meal, the prick

City need to be perfect. One draw and their max point total drops to 83. It'd have to be a pathetic collapse for us to not clear that, so us holding them to a draw should still be enough.
We just need...
We have to win our games for that. Right now I am not confident of beating Wolves if we play them.

You keep referring to these "nerdy tacticos" here, but I don't recall anyone on the Arses being like that. As Gooder, Kleine and Hazza have pointed out, that's entirely on you. That's not to defend Arteta or the team after today's horror show, but placing stock on the opinions of wankers online is a sure fire route to anger and disappointment. They can't influence you unless you let them, which says a lot more about those who take thede pseuds seriously. It's utter bullshit, like so much online irrespective of the topic.
I think the reason I’m so disappointed today is that I thought if we got a win today we could actually win the league
He's actually the type of guy to walk if he fails again this season. Principles and all that
I just cannot see it but if he does be sure to remind me :)

Genuinely a team which has gone on crazy runs. I don’t think 7/8 wins in a row is beyond them in a run in, hope I’m wrong

We just need to get our shit together, mayne Arteta can slip some blue pills in their drink for pre-game or sth cause we've looked flaccid since March

Enough with the cherries! All I want is a winning chav in blue tomorrow

Unless Rice and the players take it on themselves and completely ignore the set staid tactics I honestly can't see anything but a total collapse of the season in the coming weeks.
It’s amazing what playing games does for a players performance and consistency

We're better off points wise than we were after the Wolves fuck up
Not sure why I'm doing this to myself but fuck it.
Arteta has to get the team up for the next two games. Tell them to just fucking have a go
Thought Myles was good today
He wasn't bad which is why it stood out.
Jimmy Hill is still upfront
I'll take that. Heard Dempsey is out for the season as well
Not a bad thing for the mugsmashers to win today. Chelsea will desperately need something out of tomorrow's game to stay within touching distance.
Give it up it's over 😭
You are making it worse. Cheer me up with the good stuff; is Woy Wogson still in charge there by any chance?

Fucking right! The purpose of the squad was to ensure we could compete on all fronts, but you do that by properly integrating all the players so that they're not called on and expected to perform by hitting the ground running. That's just stupid. Players need game time to get rhythm and a proper feel for the game.
Him, Bobb, Wilson, Muniz, Jimenez

At least it's a home, not that that means too much.

With a generational squad of all-time greats ? He’s French Ancelotti. How many times did he out think an oppo coach? None, he had Ronaldo, Benzema, Modric, Ramos to win games for him
Just a natural, Mik would coach it out of him. LOL.
Then send him on loan
Very good for a team like Fulham
He really pushes them forward at every chance
I think so, great left foot

Of course there would be some additions to beef up the squad as well. But Arteta as a mgr seems to have peaked. Unless he managed to get over the line.

Anyway we all want the same thing big picture and that for our team to bring home the big trophies.. I think those of us who aren’t ”Arteta out” find the footie abysmal at times .
I think even the Arteta in find it a hard watch too.

God! I just imagined us losing to City next and Cherki doing his clown moves, them wasting time, keeping the ball, Bernardo cunt's smug face. Please don't do this to us Arsenal :/

I love Iraola or rather the concept of him don’t want him for us because of what we have.. Let’s just go for the ultimate water carrier Didier Deschamps

We need to sell many of those midfielders and attackers. I don't know that Arteta can do that. A new manager might.
Anyway, got to stop now. Too worked up. Sorry!
Moving players on with Contracts and Wages will be the problem , whoever manager. I think sll good midfielder. Just over played. And other side coin under played , so rusty ,or just back from injury

Yes, we never really threatened them at all, at home with everything to play for No excuses. Sad, negative sideways football has become the norm. Shocking, but yet not surprising at all. I think this team would struggle against third tier opposition at the moment.

Get in a good attack minded mgr and he'll probably add 2 creative players and a tricky winger and basically become unbeatable
Enrique, Ancellotti, Iraola, even Fabregas. There are many names. You just want me to name them so you can do that thing of dismissing them in the same dxeceitful way you dismiss other fans' rage.
Enrique happy at psg ( unless he gets sacked ,ancellloti, signed extension at Brazil. Iraila never managed a high pressure game in his life . Fan. I believe will be a good manager one day but could be too much too soon
Plus Arteta is most successful ever for the owners . Made them more money than Wenger . If anything they will give Arteta a contract extension. Stan loves Arteta and his champion league
Won’t happen this summer though. We’ve dug ourselves into a hole we can’t immediately climb out from

The unfortunate truth is that with already-good teams (ie ones not in need of a rebuild), their success usually has significantly more to do with player/squad quality than with the manager. That’s how Ancelotti had success at Madrid despite doing basically no coaching. It’s also why we’ve been good for a while but not won anything. We have shot ourselves in the foot with our squad building and it’s not immediately fixable. Stick Iraola in charge today, your midfield options are still Rice, Zubi, Havertz, Norgaard. You can’t coach your way out of a poorly built squad, or one built with someone else’s ideas in mind

Enrique simply plays a better style of football. It's an ambitious passing game. He has the players of course, but that's his philosophy. I doubt he would come to Arsenal anyway. But we have a bedrock of a defence. If we can keep those players (thank you Arteta and Berta) then we can get a manager who believes in attack, in a passing game, not this horseshoe crap cowardly football.
Back from a walk with my trusty Berner and a visit with some friends, the fresh air and cool temps did me good.

The Rice long distance shit also
I'd also be looking at how long Flick has on his Barca contract.
Back from a walk with my trusty Berner and a visit with some friends, the fresh air and cool temps did me good.
Can't believe how we seem intent on shitting the bed, but we haven't played well since mashing the Spuds. We just look so disjointed, as if this is some pre season knock. I don't get why, it is right there in front of the team and they just seem to freeze. I think it is mental. Maybe we can get the spirit back with a win over Sporting, or maybe catch a break with Chelski doing us a favour but this is painful to watch. I don't really remember their keeper having a save to make, maybe a looping header from Jesus. So, so poor.
Plus I doubt Alonso would apply for a job his good friend is at.

All good names like them all not sure anyone is better. I get the Enriquez argument but would counter argue even disregarding the financial disparity they break same rules as city for sure .. that that league gives opportunity to resting players for cups and is by far superior to any domestic rival .. by good names
Ending up at pool I think
Feels to obvious. Hopefully they hang onto Slot for a bit longer. What if Germany have a shit wc, could Nagelsmann be viable?
I wish you could read your own posts.. ..
Again, qwhat the fuck kind of typical comment is that. It's some schoolmasterly patronising shite. It's bollocks. You do it just because you want to feel superior. You're not. You're just incapable of allowing fans to vent and your pretend you know better. That;s bad enough but these little tactics "do you read backl what yoou've written" are rhetorical devices to evade dealing with the issue. As I said, deceitful.
Wouldn’t happen in a million years but could we give Xabi Alonso a ring

I wish you could read your own posts.. ..
The danger to that "risk analysis" teain of thought lettra is the lqte Wenger experience. We get wedded too much and for too long to a person/system because of stable but insufficient yield, avoiding the risk of a collapse of the status quo. We saw what that lead to, we had all it takes to win many titles (PL and otherwise) during the last 4 years, it didn't take many changes either to get them during the Wenger era but we witheld from it. God knows how much more successful we could have been.
And yet you are incapable of naming one better than Arteta got it ..

It is deceitful because you pretend that your calmness is somehow more logical and a better analysis and use the emotion to dismiss the actual more honest analysis. I was referring to the need to take our chances on getting a better mgr. Arsene had to go as he was a shadow of himself towards the end. Nothing wrong in sacking a mgr not fit for purpose unless our intention is not winning the league. You think he'd be in charge at Madrid for this long?

Mate come on. “It’s all psychological” is lazy analysis. It’s the Roy Keane school of thought- you’ve got to want it more, be brave, etc. Some players are equipped to break lines and pass progressively, some aren’t. Ask Hincapie to play like Lewis Skelly and he won’t be able to, it’s not psychological, it’s player profiling. We are choosing players that are incapable of doing what we want our team to do, that’s not a psychological issue, no amount of ‘psychology’ is going to make Havertz into de bruyne.
I genuinely don’t think you can .. one recourse analysis intelligence and logic. The other is only rage and disappointment.
Analysis, intelligence and logic? What are you going on about? It's sophistry made to look sophisticated that only pretends to be calm but actually tries to obscure the genuine logic underneath the rage of the honest fan who knows their football. Your way is deceitful. You're not calm or you wouldn't feel the need to berate others to make yourself look good.

Ode has stunk the place out too at times. He does try to progress it but often spraying balls to the left and right and rarely straight ahead. He also keeps passing back.
Oh yeah he’s been shit for ages but stylistically we are lacking a high touch midfielder. We started to look more like ourselves pre Eze’s injury when he started to get more involved and our attacks would cycle through him

We can all also paraphrase the kind of posts that you typify as the rebuttal. There's plenty of them repeated ad infinitum on social media, often berating fans for getting upset and calling them all sorts of nasty stuff. It's great if you can not get worked up, but there was alot to be upset about today and what makes it worse is the repetition, this has defined several seasons for Arsenal. the commentator said that April is the worst month historically for Arteta as Arsenal manager and it's by contrast the best month for Pep at City. That is the definition of winner and loser. Sorry, but that is what Arteta will forever be defined as, despite all his hard work, if he can't win this league from this position this year.
I didn't hear that or rather read that anywhere.Anyway they can't all be gold standard,

Not using Ethan

There is no absolution here.

This is what the squad is for. This is why we have given Arteta close to a billion £ to challenge on all fronts. Yet he keeps using the same players over and over and they break down. Their replacements (al approved by Arteta by the way) are not trusted, not given enough game time to get their rhythm and are often brought in from the cold and expected to perform like the main core players. If Arteta fails to do that , then it is a big problem on our hands with Mikel.
By selling our young academy grown talents for "pure profit"
I didn't hear that or rather read that anywhere.Anyway they can't all be gold standard,

I don’t think the primary issue is psychological (although you can see they’re nervy) - it’s a personnel and tactical issue. They could have been really confident and assured today but you still don’t win games with a gassed Zubimendi, a physically shot Havertz in midfield, and Nelli/Madueke on the wings. The technical level is too low and our buildup is over coached and easy to negate. I don’t believe that winning a league and relieving that cloud of pressure would negate those technical and buildup issues - it’s a product of the squad building

What I wish is that all those nerdy tacticos with their online graphics and trendy terminology were honest enough to analyse why Arteta's system is so limited. I don't even think it's the system per se, but the focus as others have said on not getting beaten rather than going out to win. At home today agaist admittedly a good passing side and can anyone really deny we played as a unit with fear?
But if he does win the league, it doesn’t negate how we’ve looked all season. We will have scraped over the line with the only real challenger being the worst City team in years. Do you seriously expe...
We'd be better if we manage to win it this season as the pressure will be off. It's the fear of another year as second that is crippling both the players and mgr. Coming second after winning it isn't such a bad place to be
Odegaard has been a shell of himself all year and probably needs replacing, and yet this side is crying out for him. We always complain when we see him picking it up off the CBs and having a million pointless touches, but we are now reliant on him doing that, otherwise every game the rest of the season is going to look like we did today. Criminal to let Ethan go and warm bench for Marseille
We have been told we can buy more and better players for next season.
By selling our young academy grown talents for "pure profit"
We had played almost if not 20 games than them and they hadn't played for at least a week if not more. Were you not listening to the commentary.
I saw the game with my own two eyes thank you very much. And didn't like what I saw

I'll keep him if we win the league or champions league. Lose both, he definitely has to go. No excuses
But if he does win the league, it doesn’t negate how we’ve looked all season. We will have scraped over the line with the only real challenger being the worst City team in years. Do you seriously expect this side to compete next year in this state?

You can post laughing emojis and get off on trying to ridicule people… do you.
What is irrational though? There is a good reason people are treating the City game as a fait accompli.
Brutal, but agreed, just about
Abramovic built a dynasty sacking mgrs. Got in Scolari, wasn't doing it, sacked him. This club needs to get a bit more ruthless
for heavens sake we were at HOME to Bournemouth, seven games away from winning the title, and whilst not wanting to diss the opposition they should have been beaten before they started. That is on Arteta stop playing with the handbrake on FFS

We might still scrape it over the line this season. Be a nice note for Arteta to go out on a high, full circle etc. Criminal if he’s still here next season - we will look like Liverpool have done this season, bereft of ideas, scrapping for 3rd and 4th. This team goes no further under Arteta
No, I don't expect him to change at all. Hopefully we can grind out enough wins to get over the line.
Our defending and pressing needs to improve massively for us to do that
No, I don't expect him to change at all. Hopefully we can grind out enough wins to get over the line.
This just had same conversation with my brother.. Don’t care how we do it .. grind it get over the line in anyway possible.. when we are past this massive pressure I’m certain we will mostly play more expansive football it’s clear what end of the field we need to recruit..
You're going to get lynched if you mention the P name here! His ability to turn and slip the ball to the side for Rice to run on to has disappeared from our midfield. Think back to Man U's first goal ...
Arteta refused to replace those guys with like for like. We all felt it was about Saka, Martinelli, Jesus and Odegaard. The real driving force was Xhaka, Partey and sometimes Zinny inverting
No, I don't expect him to change at all. Hopefully we can grind out enough wins to get over the line.
Despite the understandable gloom, I think you are right. Thanks for the positive words.
There isn't a footbal clunb in the world who the majority of fans wouldn't react like this. You act like you're so above it. That's what's on you.
Yeah wasn’t claiming it but come to think about I am now ..I could post today and name 3-4 people who will lose their absolute shit when we lose .. It’s always the same guys .. could probably parahrase the posts ahead of time as well it’s nonsense.
You expect Arteta to change his approach? Man's wedded to this turgid system now. We better get used to it for the foreseeable

We might end up with a similar scenario as Brentford where keeping an assistant as the boss improves the team. I'd rather simply replace the manager and retain the back room staff
Watching Zubimendi pass backwards and sideways makes me miss Partey and Xhaka
You're going to get lynched if you mention the P name here! His ability to turn and slip the ball to the side for Rice to run on to has disappeared from our midfield. Think back to Man U's first goal against us in the 3-2 defeat. There's no way He Who Mustn't Be Mentioned would have tried to pass backwards rather than laying it forward for Rice when the space was there.
Watching Zubimendi pass backwards and sideways makes me miss Partey and Xhaka
Especially when he can play excellent forward passes
If you're feeling very low and depressed, you don't get to claim some sort of superiority here!
😂 least rational bunch of people ever ..
My team lost of course I’m low .. don’t have to go insane over it. But I’ve seen Intelligent people lose their shit in high pressure situations. .. So don’t know why I’d expect more from you.. even on your best day.
You expect Arteta to change his approach? Man's wedded to this turgid system now. We better get used to it for the foreseeable

I get that one would be tempted to ask what is left for Arteta to do, with Jover taking care of set pieces...but maybe that's for the best?
Watching Zubimendi pass backwards and sideways makes me miss Partey and Xhaka

Yes this exactly, we could have Kane upfront and he’d just get the same chances Gyok gets
Start to realise the strength Merino brings to the midfield
😂😂😂😆
Just caught up on the chat between courses, the glaring problem is lack of movement. It's been there all season. Until the "system" is relaxed a bit to allow players to move more then this will be the way we play.
We had such an early chance today with a corner and Havertz missed a header from 5 yards out.. He cannot be the striker that a title winning team needs. Same for Gyokeres who can probably finish better than Havertz but requires a LOT of service and chances...
Kai plays intelligently but game fitness is a little off. I would keep Gyok

For all of his technicality and intelligent movement he is simply not gifted with elite physical gifts so he’s often slow to react and leverage those skills.
And let’s be honest he’s not a consistent finisher

Amazingly, the Brains Trust can't figure this out, nor can it address other glaring issues.
We look like a team that doesn't practice attacking.
Same issues all season, with no answer beyond fans hoping we 'click' at some point.
Right I’ve had enough football for this weekend, until Chavs beat City .
I promise no more first arses from me on match days
Remember when we used to score two three goal in the first 30 mins and blow teams away :") What the fuck happened to this Arteta.
I don’t care at this point- Gyok is no sacred cow for me but I’ve seen nothing to indicate Kai would improve things.
Kai plays intelligently but game fitness is a little off. I would keep Gyok
If timber and saka dont come back we will be embarrassed further. Ode too is needed. We are creating zilch and our set pieces have been ineffective.
People think Havertz would have won those balls today? Do me a favor. Merino would have.

It really doesn't matter who we have upfront; we simply can't get the ball to them to create enough chances.
We could do just as well playing without a striker, except the person best suited to that, Merino, is injured.
Oh, I agree, but we need an outlet to hold on to the ball when we go long. It's safe to say we're more likely to get that with Havertz than Gyok, who I like and have supported despite his limitations.

I think because they play to players strengths rather than to a rigid system
Sorta like that’s the mark of a decent manager
They sold all their best players from last season yet they still look slick and people want to buy this new crop.
I think because they play to players strengths rather than to a rigid system
Odegaard was approaching that sort of form two seasons ago but the injuries seem to have taken that from him
I think it’s time for Odegaard to go this summer, he’s done really well but the current setup is no getting more than 50% out of him, the lack of runners is painfully apparent in his lost ability to pick a pass forward
I’d say on Iraola though, he is under pressure just to differing levels. Make no mistake about it, fans expect teams to win or play well, Bournemouth have done well the last couple of seasons so the f...

Havertz has to be upfront against City. Odegaard and Saka back. Time to batten down the hatches.

I’d say on Iraola though, he is under pressure just to differing levels. Make no mistake about it, fans expect teams to win or play well, Bournemouth have done well the last couple of seasons so the fans expect Europe.
Also they’ve lost Semenyo and Kluivert is still out, both players who’d have done well for us imo

I mean that one is hard to measure until you put the man in the hot seat.
I can only judge by how teams play and Bournemouth are set up as well as anybody.
Saliba and Gabriel talked about leaving for trophies before ..
Do you think they would have left if Arteta had walked last season? Not sure.
Having said that, it would be a very timely bellweather.

It's not so much about attractive football for me cos we suffered under Wenger doing that and getting nowhere. It's more the coaching I see other teams have received whereas our deficiencies have become systemic.
Do you really think Arteta has the level of pull such that players are wedded to him?!
It's not Arteta , it's Age . Their age . A project it's 3 or four years. They can go Bayern ,psg , Madrid and Germany competing for all the big trophies from day one
He makes a bunch of no names looks like a very slick outfit- even after getting the team gutted the past few windows.
That guy is an exceptional managerial talent.
I think you misunderstood, Iraola is a really good manager, I was talking about Utd. However, I have to say Bournemouth's last five PL games were draws, and he's had multiple stretches of really bad results.
It's been our thing as of late to make opposing teams and managers look exceptional, no matter how better we're supposed to be.
Eh? What's that? Dare I Google that?
Best not probably lol!
Yeah but Frank played conservative football. Iraola platforms his team so that a bunch of no names looks players look ready to make the move to bigger teams.
Iraola has no pressure to win big games. See how much his present run of no defeats but lots of draws is being celebrated?
Any draw we get is a near disaster no matter the period of the season. Iraola wouldn't survive the Emirates crowd
He can pass, shoot, take free kicks, set pieces, dribble, manipulate the ball into space for players to attack... fucking depressing how lacking our midfielders are by comparison.
He is always looking to create a scoring chance no matter what the consequence and he has the skill to pull it off.
Bournemouth used the City template of sitting four across the pitch in front of our keeper to great effect. The problem that Kepa faced leading to him standing with the ball was replicated by Raya a number of times.
If the midfield doesn’t show in space for the keeper we’re going to have the same problems next week. Havertz just isn’t mobile enough in that position and Zubimendi looks shot of energy and confidence and there’s absolutely no point in lumping it long because it just keeps coming back at us
Do you really think Arteta has the level of pull such that players are wedded to him?!

Last summer's transfer window was a massive roll of the dice. If we miss out, Artera has to realise the gamble didn't come off. Spending like we've doing means this no longer a 'project', it's win or bust.
Noni's habit f running the ball out of play is not a downside of his game I saw when he was at Chelsea.
No, it was the board. Wenger warned them they would lose a future captain, all for the sake of £5k a week.
Ahhh. I don't really remember how it all went down, just know it hurt.
The one benefit is that this is a decent, settled squad. It certainly wouldn't be a wholesale rebuild.
Our squad is full with talent in every position. We should be winning the league
The one benefit is that this is a decent, settled squad. It certainly wouldn't be a wholesale rebuild.
There are several players that need to be shipped out due to age, injury or both - White (sorry to say), Jesus, Trossard. That list could also include Odegaard, but that means a replacement which would be expensive.
We have three lefylr backs - Califiori (great but injury prone), Hincapie and MLS. I'm certain one will go - & that won't be Hincapie as he's on loan with an obligation to buy.
We have two fowards - the very limited Gyokeres amd The mercurial but now-injury prone Havertz (remember when he was indestructible, with mutant genes?).
So, how much will the players listed bring in? Not much if MLS & Califiori are not sold.
We need a left winger and a forward. Tje forwa4d will replace Jesus, if Gyoketes and Havertz are retained. Given their ages, I assume it will be a young player.
As for Tross's replacement, we've been talking about that for years and it will cost, so I think Nelli will go.
That's a fair bit of churn
The one benefit is that this is a decent, settled squad. It certainly wouldn't be a wholesale rebuild.
The squad won't be settled,I f Arteta leaves, players will leave the project. Some of The top players . The only settled will be we are stuck with the players other top teams won't buy or who are on big wages

Exactly. Once a week.
Don't think villa fans saying attractive football Gabby Agb. Always slagging them off on talk sport breakfast
Is he the yardstick? Until their midfielders got injured, Villa played and moved in a way which we have not done this season. I don't particularly like them due to this supposed rivalry they have with us, but honesty is important given where we find ourselves.
Feels like that was Arsene.
Both Arsene and David Dein.
It was absolutely us when we let go of one of the world's best left backs because we were unwilling to pay good money to retain our players. We absolutely fucked up here with that decision
Feels like that was Arsene.

One of the kids at this softplay looks like Haaland for fuck sake
Can't get a break today
Not having that excuse anymore. We play the extra games because we're supposed to be good enough.
Thanks for saying what I would probably have said but not in such a concise way.
Maybe Spuds will cheer us all up by tonked by Sunderland tomorrow
Wouldn't matter. It will be a bigger story if we bottle this league than them getting relegated
They're a good side - I watched them beat Juventus 3-0 in the Coppa Italia - but Serie A is becoming an outlier when we talk about top leagues.
I know they’ve had investment but you don’t make the strides they have without Cesc being an exceptional managerial talent.
I don’t disagree that an experienced manager is a safer bet- I just don’t think there are a ton around anymore that are big enough for this job. Enrique is one though.

Only thing that will make it better is if Chelsea get a result
fuck him anyway! "I nearly swerved off the road for 5k"

Bournemouth are PSG-esque in their play. Even Utd have improved since Carrick took over because they have ball and outstanding no 10 in Fernandez who never seems to get injured, unlike our captain, aided by the likes of Cunha and Amad. Despite their recent form, Villa have played attractive football this season.
Why are teams with less resources than us able to play the game with intent, drive and movement whereas we resemble Harry McGuire's relatives in Easter Island statues?
If we don't win the league, only way I'd accept Arteta staying is if he brings in an attacking coach. Maybe even demote him to a defense coach and bring in a new manager that isn't as cowardly.
I think we should get Ashley Cole as manager ;)
I have ready that he still has a lot of affection for Arsenal and still was very friendly with some of the old club staff despite his departure.

That Brighton team played some delicious footy
I know it's an easy default but Serie A... the position the team is in now... I think we need someone who has experience winning things and, if not that, someone with PL experience.
Ancellotti would be a good place holder, but he'll be in demand and could be past it anyway. But I agree it needs a big name with a record of attacking football. I'm tired of this system of play, never liked it. It's good to have defensive structure, but if you have no boldness, you don't win things.
I don’t have the same level of contempt for Cesc as I do RVP

I'm not convinced he can handle the pressure of a title chasing club. Looks like another Potter
Potters teams did not show the level of sophistication of Iraolas reams
Our tempo while passing and trying to buildup is generally awful even with Odegaard and Eze in the team. Part of the reason is we play it safe, the other reason is because we don't have technical players at all. Just look at the way Bournemouth played past us.... so horrible and yet great to watch. While we were playing at pedestrian pace.
I don’t have the same level of contempt for Cesc as I do RVP

You have been crying for attacking football- this is Cesc Fabregas we are talking about here.
There are managers with more clout who can deliver that as well.
Berta has never had to appoint a manager in his career. Why would we trust him with that decision?
Arteta had never managed a club before. I think Berta is the only one in the present club hierarchy with the knowledge to appoint the right man. But as others have said, it's still too soon. I just think so much if this is on Arteta. I can't believe these players all need three or four touches to pass a ball. That is painful to watch and it's bloody ugly as well. Can't keep using excuses as to why it happens. It's clearly part of the way Arteta sets up his teams.
I know it's an easy default but Serie A... the position the team is in now... I think we need someone who has experience winning things and, if not that, someone with PL experience.

And, for the record, I think we'll regress with whoever else comes in because I don't think we have the executive structure to get the right man
Can’t agree with that. We just don’t know if it will be better or worse.
Assuming we have the balls to make a change I can’t see Enrique wanting to come.
I would take Iraola or Fabregas.
Fabregas no fucking way
Iraola is a top manager. They are so hugely impressive how they play out of the back, how they press and how they attack. They sold all of their stars and he’s got them going again with a bunch of no names.
Lets be real, Edu and his "mates" weren't wonderful either.
Berta is new in the the job yet doesn't get a grace period like those before him. Bit harsh.
This is true.
It’s a young man’s game these days.

Blogs, would it have been helpful to have had a member of previous Arsenal team on the coaching staff?
No shade on Cesc - what's past is past - but far too premature.

Well, shit - that's the hope!
I'd take the former if pushed.

Berta has never had to appoint a manager in his career. Why would we trust him with that decision?
Assuming we have the balls to make a change I can’t see Enrique wanting to come.
I would take Iraola or Fabregas.
Who is the other person on the board with the footballing experience or vision to handle such a responsibility?
There's the $64,000 question!
Berta has never had to appoint a manager in his career. Why would we trust him with that decision?

One was deflected but the second one he should have hit with his left instead of checking back to his right foot.
I have a hard time criticizing our highest goal scorer in all comps since Auba.
Ever...
Hard agree.
The biggest problem is we still do not have an answer to how teams are pressing us. We have no patterns to advance from the back.
To think the solution is our CF to win the long ball is fantasy. I don’t care who is starting.
And, for the record, I think we'll regress with whoever else comes in because I don't think we have the executive structure to get the right man
Everything will be in the hands of Berta and who knows whom he will appoint if Mikel goes...
I said "We couldn't find a way through their press, and because we have a centre-forward who just can't win a header or a duel, we couldn't find an outlet by going over it"
The criticism is implicit ...
He won just about every aerial duel when playing for Sweden. But it wasn’t shit balloons in the sky
I think we'd be better off with the Kai that hasn't been broken by 12 months of serious injury. But not necessarily this verion.
He’s twice the player Gyok is technically but he is so slow to react it is not a major advantage at this point and he’s flat out not a better goal scorer.
He’s absolutely limited no question.
But guys like Saka, Trossard, Martinelli, Odegaard, Jesus, Havertz, etc have offered nothing really this season. I know injuries play a role but when fit they’ve ...
I've been hard on him, but I now suspect he's still not 100% fit. Still, when he's playing it's been too loose and casual.
Nobody is gonna convince me we’d be better off with Kai at #9 right now. We are probably desperate enough to make that change but I don’t see it happening.

At his best, I think he's just about the best option for that position in this system... but it's still not quite enough.
Nobody is gonna convince me we’d be better off with Kai at #9 right now. We are probably desperate enough to make that change but I don’t see it happening.
Our build up from the back is the biggest problem with how teams are setting up.
If Saka, Odegaard, Timber and Hincapier are fit, we should play Havertz as a striker against City and use Martinelli to help out against Doku. We need to keep it tight. Who knows, we might get chances on the counter, but it'll be about re-discovering our solidity.
And, for the record, I think we'll regress with whoever else comes in because I don't think we have the executive structure to get the right man
It would be the honorable thing to do
Agree
It would be the honorable thing to do
That would be the best outcome but I have a hard time believing that.
👍 such a shame if it ends that way, but it’s for the best I think. Need some fresh ideas.
I hear that but when you see him in the flesh (apart from pens) that's an extremely limited player there.
He’s absolutely limited no question.
But guys like Saka, Trossard, Martinelli, Odegaard, Jesus, Havertz, etc have offered nothing really this season. I know injuries play a role but when fit they’ve done little.
I’ve always been a Tross guy but we need one of these guys to step forward.

Okay. That's fair enough.
The first player you went to, though... I think there were bigger culprits out there.
I said "We couldn't find a way through their press, and because we have a centre-forward who just can't win a header or a duel, we couldn't find an outlet by going over it"
The criticism is implicit of those who can't find a way through AND the centre-forward. Honestly.
I didn't single him out at all, wtf. Please see what I wrote.
I just made the observation that our centre-forward isn't the kind to provide an outlet so we couldn't go over the press. That's obvious ...

Completely switched off for their first goal, let the man run off him to score.
Echoes of Eze against Villa, but the deflection was unexpected. The fault lay with White and Noni for not picking up their player. White may have sacrificed his body for the club, but we're paying an awful price for it at the moment. Too many times players are getting in behind him rather too easily. He's an experienced player, not a fucking novice.
Blogs, what’s your take on Arteta if we don’t win the league?
I think he'll walk
While I don't think you're wrong about guy, singling him out after that clutch penalty seems a bit excessive.
I didn't single him out at all, wtf. Please see what I wrote.
I just made the observation that our centre-forward isn't the kind to provide an outlet so we couldn't go over the press. That's obvious to everyone no?
It does appear that the impetus behind the Gyokeres deal was Berta... but let's be fucking real - there would have been growing pains with Sesko as well.
There is a severe lack of ball carrying quality which has been exposed in this team. That’s why Calafiori and Dowman look like rolls royces when they come on.
As I said below, he wasn't alone in being crap, but he was definitely crap.

On paper, there is a fairly good amount of creativity in this squad... been largely leached out of the players, unfortunately.
I disagree, Blogs. Couple of times he lost out, but he carried and passed well. Compare him to some of the appalling passes we saw from Gabriel, Saliba, Raya, White, Martinelli and Trossard.

La Liga is completely different to the PL.

Everyone else has universally shit the bed. If they were doing their job Gyok would not even be a focus.
It would but I don't blame players for being injured. I blame the state of a squad that doesn't have enough creativity in general
Let’s be really honest here, Odegaard is not going to change anything in attack.
There are three other players behind him who rarely received the ball and when they did their passing was atrocious. Why are you singling out Gyökeres as if he was the only issue. I agree he's lumberi...

It's not really the job of wingers to win those kinds of duels, it is for a centre-forward (generally)
Back to goal duel no- but they can make runs to open up space or get played in behind.
Mids absolutely culpable for not committing to win the second ball. I can’t count a single one we won.

His back passes, and those of our entire defence, have been huge factors in our catastrophic form recently. It invites unnecessary pressure which has been compounded by our keeper stepping on the ball in a vain attempt to draw them in. Fucking joke Arteta and the coaches have not addressed this cos every team is going to set-up that way against us.
And for all the 'We have to get Gyokeres chances' stuff, he completely whiffed two good opportunities in the last 10 minutes.
Agree
Also want to see midfield reconfigured. Zubi is gassed
even a double pivot of Rice and Norgard. Change something!

MLS? uh?
I thought Rice was very good and so was MLS. They had the timing, the intent. But too many around didn't.
MLS was awful
It was more a general point. For balance, I thought Gyokeres was crap, Havertz was crap, Madueke was crap, Martinelli was crap, Zubimendi crap. Too many players were crap.

This! Our midfield were the main culprits today for both their goals. We don't pressure teams anymore, allowing them plenty of time and space to pick a pass. No wonder the defence looks fed-up.

Zubi is gassed is an excuse. He's simply not physically or mentally equipped for the highly athletic and competitive nature of Prem football. He's tired because he's had to over-exert himself. His back passes have been unacceptable as well. Can't get past his marker.
We couldn't find a way through their press, and because we have a centre-forward who just can't win a header or a duel, we couldn't find an outlet by going over it
Many of those long balls just sailed over Gyoks head straight to the keeper but we also didn’t follow up on the second ball. Kai would have been useful once we noticed this. Everything just seems uncordinated - the thinking and therefore the output.
Jesus wept if this is our fanbase we have no hope, Do you want us to be 27 points in front of Citeh before you can relax?
27 points in front would be luvverly
Jesus wept if this is our fanbase we have no hope, Do you want us to be 27 points in front of Citeh before you can relax?

But this is where playing Havertz would would have made sense. He can use his height and strength to offer a focal point. Gyok can then come on for the last 20 minutes, and he can also start on Wednes...
Havertz isn’t winning that duel either let’s be honest. Merino would.
Would be nice if our captain would stay fit for a change

C115eh have to go to Everton and Bournemouth so hopefully they'll drop points there and play Brentford and Villa at home, it's not over yet!!

Why is Gyokeres the main focus?
I couldn't believe we were pinned in by Bournemouth! We used to say "attack us and find out", but I think I prefer teams sitting back against us now.
They press to force the long ball to the CF or wings because they are confident of winning those duels 1v1
But do you think the board would not renew the contract if he wins nothing?
Well with the money that's been spent you'd think they would want to see a return on the investment, I really don't think the board care though not in a footballing sense.
And yet he drops their best player Enzo for the game, it’s the hope that kills you
Yes, that was so disappointing, but I hope Lavia steps up cos there's a top player in there.

It’s something but it’s true. Just as effective as a CF and far superior as a mid.
Merino is a smart and intelligent footballer. We have really missed his ability to knit midfield and attack. Too many were unfairly deriding him as a lump cos they're fixated with aesthetics.
As any kind of fluid attacking force we have been poor for months . I'm nearly home now. Feeling a bit numb. "More in sorrow than anger."

We're definitely not getting past either of the Spanish teams in the semi either let alone Bayern.

I will follow him on LinkedIn if he can do us a davor
Please, less of the LinkedIn jibes. I really hope Chelsea will do us a massive favour tomorrow. A huge slice of luck is necessary to win the league, and I'm hoping ours will come tomorrow cos they need top five for CL place.
Gyok will end up with more goals in all comps by seasons end than anybody since Aubameyang
And still be labled crap by quite a few!
As any kind of fluid attacking force we have been poor for months . I'm nearly home now. Feeling a bit numb. "More in sorrow than anger."

We don't.
Teams can lock us into our own half because they are not that worried about the mobility of Gjokeres, Havertz, Trossard.

It is the lack of movement that kills us. All teams now know exactly where our players will be. We keep blaming Zubi but when he has the ball, only one person moves and that’s Gyok and he’s too far away. The constant hugging the touchelime and passing there is causing problems. Also, none of the wingers aim to get in behind, just always waiting for the ball to feet. It’s madenningz
Does he go if we don't win it?
I honestly don't see how he can stay
For me it’s his cup record for which he has to go. He takes cups for granted an example of which is his selection of Kepa. He should have won an Europa league and more domestic cups.
Has to!
We're definitely not getting past either of the Spanish teams in the semi either let alone Bayern.

Can't believe I'm defending guy (somewhat) but I think this sort of behaviour is his way of coping.
You're right, we all do it in different ways. He does this every time we lose, be witherig about the fans like us losing our shit. Neither way is wrong, except one needs to put down the oethr, the other reacts. We've been here before...too many times sadly.
I honestly think that the league is gone now
Does he go if we don't win it?

So annoying we can't at least put some blame on Oliver for a dodgy decision. We deserved a booking for those slow throws
Madness. We have over reacted to the perceived “awareness” from refs. We just needed to not do anything silly. They are short. Don’t touch their keeper, don’t hold anyone, attack the ball.
Yep! Can't help but think we've let criticism get to us. Who gives a fuck what the likes of Obi-Mikel and Alan de Pardew think when a title is there to be won.
It reminds me of England's rugby team throwing the 1991 world cup final away by trying to play flowing, attacking rugby due to criticism from the likes of David Campese, who stood to benefit from us abandoning the forward orientated game which had brought so much success.
and "control" don't forget the control!
That aspect as actually made us so much worse.
If you’ve got a half arsed defence with Lichsteiner and Luiz you need control but we can forgive some of the control for greater risk
The fact that Merino is viewed as a more palatable option than Havertz is really something. Failed #8/de facto 9 - the best CF in this system - arguably a lesser light than a cumbersome, orthodox deep lying midfielder (albeit a great finisher).

I think Gyok has been very unfairly criticised, sure he's had annoying moments, but for the little service he gets he's done better than alot give him credit for.
He might not be the second coming of giroud (he was a bit of donkey) but then giroud saw much more of the ball than Vik has ever.
His philosophy is "If you can't win, don't lose". The players have also brought into that.
His philosophy is if you can win don’t
This is all on Arteta. If he told his team to go out and win 4-0 they probably would. But instead it’s all about minimising risk. Fuck him.

Merino and Timber massive misses.
I’d rather have Merino than Kai right now

But he's not worse than the nameless players in Bournemouth who dealt with us today. If he was available to them, we'd be quaking if he gets close to our box
He was very good when he arrived to be fair. Him and Zinny changed the way we attacked. It's sad how he's now completely relegated to the bench
A big net positive but my god the finishing was utter gunk.

Why did Arteta lose so much confidence in Jesus? He used to alter his positions in game when Saka wasn't doing it. He at least offers some high pressing and unpredictability
Jesus ain’t it.
Next weekend will be the decider, will probably need a win, will probably lose because why would anything be good ever
We are running out of games to get a reaction out of this team. Worst form we’ve been in for many seasons.
If we're honest we have never got going at all. It's always been like we've been waiting for it to just "click" but it just hasn't happened.

Anyway, time to go face the day.
The irony in all of this is our best chance to win something is actually probably to go into a shell and be hyper defensive. Trying to play more open at this point seems pointless.
That would be true earlier in the season. Now we leak goals

The difference was short corners . But corners not broken . Bfc shorter team than us, what was set piece coach doing ..
My biggest fear is losing key players in the summer if we go empty handed. I don't see this team winning the champions league so this is our only remaining opportunity
He was hoping Tross would give him a performance. He’s gotten a song out of most subs but Leo is in the gutter
We are also somehow very dependent on our wingers constantly beating their defenders. I mean, why dont we use the ball? Play into space? Just pass and overlap and make that pass instead of decoy to something else?
I know I keep asking the same question but it looks so obvious and after losing that LC Dina, surely Arteta and the players thought, let’s try something different? In attack ?
Ok.. I am depressed too but need to get on with the day. I’m in the US and this just ruined the whole day.
Arsenal Football Club, aren't responsible for my happiness or lack there of...
I dunno.. I just wanted our team to bring a little bit of joy I guess.
I don't know how you instill confidence in a team though. It's up to them to solve it.
Clean sheets. Playing attacking wise to our strengths. Not today . I did worry when Arteta said before kick off we want to ' out pace ' then , but they had 22 days more rest for fatigue . ...Horses for courses
We're all losers here buddy!
Heh the problem is the Arsenal team seems to be fine with losing.
I don't know how you instill confidence in a team though. It's up to them to solve it.
You gotta provide them a blueprint for success because they can’t figure it out themselves.
For most of his time as manager Arteta’s blueprints were working. We are seeing the league figuring out how to play us and we hve not pivoted well enough.
If you're feeling very low and depressed, you don't get to claim some sort of superiority here!
We're all losers here buddy!
I forgot how badly Arsenal fans handle losses.. I came in here for the wrong reasons .This is on me.

Doom doom dooom we are all gonna die .
You said you're feeling very low and depressed. There are helplines available lettra.
If we don’t finish this Arteta has to go quite simply. These players will no longer believe in his methods anyway.
I don't know how you instill confidence in a team though. It's up to them to solve it.
People expecting a result at the Etihad and a clean run of victories?
The word I',m thinking of is deluded.
Doom doom dooom we are all gonna die .
Kai is horrible value for the money. Highest paid player until Saka’s new deal
Yeah huge wages, liked his goal mid week. Brilliant first touch TBF
People expecting a result at the Etihad and a clean run of victories?
Such a waste of a comment my guy.
Yeah people didn’t need me to say it.
It was so early though and I know Nelli is brainless but Tross has been bad. Would have kept Eze and Kai on.
He was hoping Tross would give him a performance. He’s gotten a song out of most subs but Leo is in the gutter
Did you say "massive advantage"? I get being positive but come on
I could explain, but figure this one out yourselves guys
Dude you are definitely not a statistician
Such a waste of a comment my guy.
League is done. Would take an aberrant capitulation from City to hand us back the initiative... and you just would not back us if it goes to game week 38.

More ball security and regain control of the game. But Tross remains in the gutter in terms of form.

Can anyone make sense of that tross for marti sub yet btw?
Does it really matter who plays on the left
I agree with your points. Trossard and Jesus have been unprofessional at times this season. Experienced players who should have brought nous to bear have the main culprits. Havertz was woeful.
Trossard didn't look fully fit. Brilliant block tho around 85 minutes mark to stop the Bournemouth shot

They aren’t elite so they don’t have the high level creative intuition. So they need someone to coach those patterns. Bournemouth looked a class outfit but clearly individually those all aren’t world beaters

Yup. I wouldn’t mind Klopp as well. Gung ho football

Take Rice for example, great striker of the ball. He runs half the pitch and the pitch opens up and then he makes a terrible pass. Sometimes just do what’s best in the situation.
We have absolutely no leaders in this team.
City still have to go to Bournemouth by the way 🤣
I will follow him on LinkedIn if he can do us a davor
😂 You know what me to
Definitely won't, put him in that city midfield with Weasel face Bernardo and watch him soar
He will 100% thrive in the City midfield. That is how Guardiola steps up tactics
Starting to look a lot like the '89 season
God I hope it doesn't come down to the last game of the season!

It was like a half-hearted plan. We will go long but didn’t commit to it. If you go long, someone has to win the seconds ball. I mean, it made no sense. Gyok was against 4 players.
Yes. And if your guts can’t win the initial ball then gamble to win the second ball. We did nothing but give possession back.
Or become the new Kalvin Phillips

Just not professional. These are highly paid top class professionals and they have to cope with pressure and do a job. We aren’t out of it but after today you can’t be confident about remaining games. Is not all Arteta - these guys are meant to be able to do a professional job and they’re coming up short.
Dowman didn't do anything of note. Took the one too many touches you criticise Noni for when an early cross would do.
Think Dowman might just have a bit more recourse mate.
Pretty sure my cousin's two seats are going up to £3,600 each for next season.
He could as well have gone to City instead and won at least 2 league titles

Could be fighting relegation at Wet Spam

Bournemouth pressed like City did a few weeks ago, more or less exactly the same
If we play out from the back like we did today next week, City will put 4 past us
Feel sorry for Declan must be heartbreaking.

It's different though. There's a big drop in quality and Zubi is poor, says a lot. Madueke was poor as well, but that's his limit. He's not a quality player, neither is Martinelli. But they both have athleticism. Trossard cam on and made us worse. Eze was too deep and didn't move quickly enough when he got it. They din't make the ball do the work. Dowman kept waiting for the ball they just didn't get it to him quickly enough. Gyökeres works hard, but he's so lumbering, it all adds up to what looks like a pub team going forward. So bloddy frustrating. I'm already preparing for us bottling it. It makes it easier for me. The online Arteta cultists will say that now is the time to show faith, but most of them are 23 years old. Been through this too many times. I prefer to accept this team will blow it again. They can surprise me all they like, please do. But I don't see it. Arteta's team and system are terminal bottle jobs. Sorry, but it looks like that.

There's no doubt - Arteta's football is basically a sentient structural equation model.
I'm not sure there was any confidence to begin with at kick off
I can forgive to an extent a lack of ideas in the final third against a low block. But I have less time for our organization playing out from the back. It seems all very intuitive and based on technical quality but now the nerves are showing and teams are pressing us hard.
Also Bournemouth pressing was incredible knowing that they could commit men high because our front four could not win 1v1 duels.
The thing that killed me was we couldn’t win a second ball. Just anticipated we aren’t going to win the first one.
In hindsight would it have been better to have had Havertz up front to hold the ball up and draw players in and fouls? We sent the ball long so many times but it kept coming back.
We should have changed the shape of the team after the intternationals. With Havertz back and Gyok. Just try to do something different because it hasn’t worked AT ALL throughout the season.
The attack is bad and the defence is leaking.

That is damning
Our whole style of play has been distilled to maximise any incremental advantage and to minimise risk. The obsession with "duel winners" together this means that our style is to grind out points. Basically, it's Mourinho - without elite strikers.
When our duel specialists fail to win duels - inexplicably virtually all if them simultaneously- we look totally toothless.
So many fans wanted creativity to be brought in. It simply hasn't. Eze only, but this was undermined by Nwaneri being loaned out.
Win the title or not, there needs to be a major change in recruitment and a major change 8n mindset
I don't know how I'm going to cope with another second place, especially to City.
I'm off for a walk to clear my head
Sadly, it won't change the result - or the piss-poor performance AGAIN
I was confident till I saw that fucking front 3.

This. Been paid very handsomely and given the keys to the city with player and coaching appointments.

But he does, rested Saka and Calafiori. But when he plays Nørgaard we’re no better.
The same is fine . In midfield. Worse is only issue if Noordgaard players over a tired zubi.
Maduake didn't look tired. Dowman did nothing of result , when he can on. One good cross, one very poor cross. No shots .
Eze wish he would drive at box and shoot , he had space. Same Trossard

PL is hard to win. We all know this... but the failures in the EL and domestic cups are so, so glaring. The disingenuity from some fans who laud Arteta continually... how the fuck do they square their bullshit with the lack of tangible success.
The fact knowing we needed to win the game and he doesn’t change shape and subs like for like until the last few mins says everything about his tactically flexibility
He should buckle up or leave. No time for self pity
Agreed
The worst thing about these early kick offs is I can't drink to get through them

You have to acknowledge that the league has adapted to nullifying our tactics this season and we have not adjusted. That’s on the manager.

Ten-hut" is a US military term for "Attention," used by leaders to call a group of soldiers to a strict, immobile standing posture. It is a shortened, distorted shouted version of "a-ten-hut" designed for easier projection and improved coordination, often used interchangeably with the phrase "Squad, ten-hut!".

So city bought new players in January and AFC didn't let Ethan go on loan ?
And you think the squad is ?
No we wont. Accept it. If city give it up maybe.
This team has had a poor run. And Arteta has not fixed it. I cant see him changing things. Looks lost.
Where is ode and Saka when you need them
Fucking injured while man city have a full strength team
Great point, Kleine. Add Cala to that list, although MLS acquitted himself today.
The trouble is, MA does not rest anyone
Dude has a big squad doesn't use it.

But he does, rested Saka and Calafiori. But when he plays Nørgaard we’re no better.
That has not provided any advantage this season. It has not led to anything. Waste of time and utterly banal at this point.
Imagine he comes out and says this is the team we are playing, do what you can. It’s like we are the underdogs always.

But no one else has his passing range. Nørgaard just doesn’t have the same quality. Zubimendi is one I’ll single out as being ill-equipped for this league. Has the passing range but not the pace or strength to get ahead of the first man. It compresses our play and we receded into our own box taking risk after risk. He’s worn out because he physically can’t handle what is needed to progress the ball to start our attacks on the ground. The key position, lauded as the best in the world, Vitinha might even struggle here but he’s getting into space to play the passes Zubi just looks too afraid to try.
Also this lying in the press conference. I know he doesn’t want to give anything away, but I think on the other hand it speaks of confidence in his team if he says this is who is going to play.
That has not provided any advantage this season. It has not led to anything. Waste of time and utterly banal at this point.

Any word from the lego haired cunt yet?
Has he said we deserved to win the game?
I don’t understand the tactics though- just play the ball forward out of the back. It’s no more dangerous than passing it back and forth with four men pressing high.

This isn't the City of the first half of the season. They still have issues but they're a better proposition with Semenyo.
They don't even need to be as good as the City of old. They just need to take one game at a time. they probably have that full confidence that we will implode.

We really don't know how to progress the ball forward unless we have Odegaard and he is fragile and can't be relied upon.

Didn’t see the movement in front of them to create the opportunity for the pass For all the criticism levelled at him at least Odegaard shows himself for the ball and looks to progress it
Get Bergkamp in as attack coach
Why? What has he achieved as a coach that we need to give him a chance? Did he pull any trees at Ajax when he was a coach? I would LOVE for our legends to be a part of our coaching setup but only if they can offer something
Someone should waterboard Arteta until he swears to drop his chickenshit football bullshit.
He can't stay if we don't. If he doesn't win but stays then I'm not watching us next season, too stressful
Same, yeah. He hasn't signed a new contract yet, so there's that.
1 trophy in 2 finals in 7 seasons with the backing he's received is very underwhelming.
Sustained winning and culture is incredibly difficult. Ten Hag has more trophies. Slot has a PL.
It’s ok to acknowledge both.
I am fine saying he has to leave now if we don’t win it. Personally in my professional life I’ve had to change the culture of a big team and I empathize how difficult that is.
I don’t understand the tactics though- just play the ball forward out of the back. It’s no more dangerous than passing it back and forth with four men pressing high.
All that passing is ok if the intention is to beat the press and gain on numbers. But doing it and then hoofing it just makes us look foolish and low on quality.
This isn't the City of the first half of the season. They still have issues but they're a better proposition with Semenyo.
I think he’s done an incredible job. The metrics speak for itself.
But where we are at now we must win. I don’t see a way back for him if we don’t get it done. Like I said both things can be true.
This is the sensible response. People forget how terrible we were. However, losing the LC final and the exit from FA Cup, and losing this league from here( especially after the last 3 years) shows that he has reached his limit.
If we lose the league, it’s over. Not just for Arteta but for the team. Can’t see them mentally recovering for another run.
The worst part is that this is the worst Man city team ever. Not to take advantage of this and still crumble shows that Arteta and the players are just not elite.
Yep! Noticed it too. Eze was so languid, but he didn't do much wrong.
For those constantly saying Dowman this and Dowman that, we saw why he may not be ready to start. Not sending the ball in a few t...
Dowman wasn’t used properly. No give and goes. Our whole attack look like strangers. This is very, very bad. It’s like watching a car crash in slow motion. We’re 9 points clear. Need Chelsea to do us a favour. But I don’t see us changing. This is deep in this Arteta era’s blood.
It is like he is draining the creativity from everyone
Get Bergkamp in as attack coach
We only have 2 creative players in our squad - Eze and Odegaard. The former was benched for a LOT of games because he failed to defend and the latter is now injured and very fragile and cannot be expected to win duels....
We have only big lumps and non technical players everywhere else.
I still have hope for the league this season mostly because City can also drop points
citeh will not drop point now
I still have hope for the league this season mostly because City can also drop points
I can’t get over the touches, the wrong choices of players to pass to. Not the intuitive one, one that looks coached. It’s not working out. The nerdy tacticos will say it’s still in our hands but toda...
It is like he is draining the creativity from everyone
I don’t understand the tactics though- just play the ball forward out of the back. It’s no more dangerous than passing it back and forth with four men pressing high.
This.
I don’t understand the tactics though- just play the ball forward out of the back. It’s no more dangerous than passing it back and forth with four men pressing high.
I think he’s done an incredible job. The metrics speak for itself.
But where we are at now we must win. I don’t see a way back for him if we don’t get it done. Like I said both things can be true.
1 trophy in 2 finals in 7 seasons with the backing he's received is very underwhelming.
Trossard played like he was drunk. Falling over all the time. Not just him, but all across the team it was dire watching the league leaders.
Yep! Noticed it too. Eze was so languid, but he didn't do much wrong.
For those constantly saying Dowman this and Dowman that, we saw why he may not be ready to start. Not sending the ball in a few times when the opportunities were there and getting brushed off a tad too easily.
I think he’s done an incredible job. The metrics speak for itself.
But where we are at now we must win. I don’t see a way back for him if we don’t get it done. Like I said both things can be true.
He can't stay if we don't. If he doesn't win but stays then I'm not watching us next season, too stressful
Have to agree here. We have given him the resources and if he fails to get us over the line, that is on him. His inability to trust his squad players and constantly overplaying his best players have r...
Playing Kepa in the FA cup and the Carling cup was such a poor decision.
Resorting to ugly football is the silent killer tho.
Fans can better stomach getting joy from the team but falling short. Give the fans no joy in terms of how they play and fall short? Yeah you're fucked.
Someone said it a while back, but we take more risks around our own box than we do going forward. We saw it with Raya today, several times he took unnecessary risks. Fucking unbelievable.
You are right, they look so worried about the consequences of losing the ball in the final third by trying something
I’ll revert back to Brighton away last year and Nwaneri trying the flick which didn’t come off, I know the word was he got injured, I’ll never believe it
100%, this is arguably the best squad we’ve ever had and yet they look petrified to express themselves and as I said 6 weeks ago, he will play them every game irrespective of the opposition and now we...
I can’t get over the touches, the wrong choices of players to pass to. Not the intuitive one, one that looks coached. It’s not working out. The nerdy tacticos will say it’s still in our hands but today should never have gone like that. Bournemouth were good but we were gutless. Nervous, second guessing everything. I don’t blame many out there. Zubimendi definitely, not a big player. Martinelli, Trossard, Madueke, Havertz, just nothing about them is class from a passing perspective. Even Eze take an age to bring to ball forward from midfield. Dowman was hardly used. In a PSG side he’d be fed into space. We barely got it to him and he was arms up calling for it. So gutted at that performance. But the sad thing is it wasn’t a surprise. We’ve seen this movie three or four years running. Different personnel, same ending. What’s the unifying factor in all those capitulations? We all know.
He hasn't transformed anything. Teams rise and teams fall.
Long and short of it.
With so many teams in "transition" currently, including citeh we've really fallen short
I can’t believe he has done nothing to fix our attack all season.
His insistence on using same set of players and tactics is his biggest undoing. Everybody can guess our team sheet and tactics 3wks in advance.
I think if you look at at it as a whole 6 seasons, a billion spent and one FA cup is very poor
Have to agree here. We have given him the resources and if he fails to get us over the line, that is on him. His inability to trust his squad players and constantly overplaying his best players have resulted them in breaking down frequently.
If he has done what he has done at Spurs, he would have done a great job. At Arsenal he has to win trophies
Got the team competitive again but lack of trophies/finals is a big, big stain. You just cannot fall short like this in every competition season after season.
I think he’s done an incredible job. The metrics speak for itself.
But where we are at now we must win. I don’t see a way back for him if we don’t get it done. Like I said both things can be true.
I think if you look at at it as a whole 6 seasons, a billion spent and one FA cup is very poor
It’s more he’s not learned the lessons from the past few seasons, I’ve said literally the same thing this time last year so why hasn’t MA learned - we have all seen it
I totally disagree. It’s ok to believe he’s done an amazing job but also realize he’s hit a ceiling too.
Agreed but not transformative. Save that for Wenger.
Someone said it a while back, but we take more risks around our own box than we do going forward. We saw it with Raya today, several times he took unnecessary risks. Fucking unbelievable.

Exactly. He plays every team like they're peak Barca. Same players, same positions, doing the same things.
He is so unimaginative.
Pure Wenger this
Arteta's tactic of playing football by the margins is a huge issue for a team that plays in the premier league and wants to win it. We cannot build a cohesive tactic apart from set pieces.
I totally disagree. It’s ok to believe he’s done an amazing job but also realize he’s hit a ceiling too.

Trossard played like he was drunk. Falling over all the time. Not just him, but all across the team it was dire watching the league leaders.
Yes, and that's the position we need to get him into. Such a shame he couldn't time his run just a fraction later.
He does make this run multiple times every game, trouble is we never play the pass
He hasn't transformed anything. Teams rise and teams fall.
I totally disagree. It’s ok to believe he’s done an amazing job but also realize he’s hit a ceiling too.
Arteta just can't stay if he doesn't win the league
I don't see how
What he’s done to transform the club is worth way more than an FA Cup.
But it’s about trophies now and if we don’t win it you have to say he’s taken us as far as he can.
We will never know but I’d argue that with the money invested by AN Other we’d probably not be far off where we are. I’m not sure he’s done anything as yet someone else couldn’t have done
Best open play strike was his offside shot
Yes, and that's the position we need to get him into. Such a shame he couldn't time his run just a fraction later.
Not his fault, he's reached his managerial ceiling. Some managers are good at squad building, others come in, and win.
I think we now need a winner
I can’t believe he has done nothing to fix our attack all season.

Not being funny but he’s spent a billion
I’d expect more than an FA Cup
What he’s done to transform the club is worth way more than an FA Cup.
But it’s about trophies now and if we don’t win it you have to say he’s taken us as far as he can.
Bournemouth are one of the most watchable teams in the league. As much as I hate them at the moment.
As my home town, I have always liked their pluckiness. But did not like them today.
People will claim this is how football is played in the premiership now, grinding it out in the margins. Bournemouth just shut them all up. Played us off the park.
Vik shoulda just taken that on his left
Yes, but clearly didn't trust himself.
I may seem like a shit fan for doing so but the TV went off at 1-2 nothing today showed me anything worth watching till the end.
Top gooner Clive Palmer left Wembley early. Everyone is going through it watching this club, my guy.
Bournemouth are one of the most watchable teams in the league. As much as I hate them at the moment.
I agree, look how well they played, enjoyable team
Nah I’m not having that but it’s starting to look like we are hitting the ceiling
Not being funny but he’s spent a billion
I’d expect more than an FA Cup
Fucking pathetic. All over next weekend.
I may seem like a shit fan for doing so but the TV went off at 1-2 nothing today showed me anything worth watching till the end.
How in the world is Iraola out of contract this summer
Bournemouth are one of the most watchable teams in the league. As much as I hate them at the moment.
Owes his entire career to a bloke he then ostracized
Nah I’m not having that but it’s starting to look like we are hitting the ceiling
Hopefully Berta was brought in for such a scenario.
Getting a good replacement for Arteta, if this season ends up with zero improvement.
Bournemouth have beaten us 3 straight on the trot.
We won at their ground earlier in the season
Remember the slating Kepa got for putting his foot on the ball in a vain attempt to draw in the opposition during the final? Well, Raya was impersonating him in the minutes leading up to Bournemouth's second goal. That was compounded by Gabriel's weak attempt at sending it long only for the ball to end up with Scott.
For folks worried that Arteta will leave for bigger and better things please tell which big club will take him as manager?
Seriously worried that Raya, Gabriel, Saliba and Rice could all get decent offers this summer and be gone. Time to move on even if we do falter over the line because he is not changing his philosophy.
Awful display from the top to the bottom.
How in the world is Iraola out of contract this summer
Top manager
How in the world is Iraola out of contract this summer
No we beat them at their place earlier 2:3
Oh yeah they had us twice last season.
Owes his entire career to a bloke he then ostracized
Pretty much. Then hires someone with the credentials who is his mate.
It's a test from god supporting this club
I do agree with that statement kleinie
Bournemouth have beaten us 3 straight on the trot.
No we beat them at their place earlier 2:3
City win tomorrow.... 6 point gap
They beat us next weekend.... 3 point gap
They have a game in hand
100%, this is arguably the best squad we’ve ever had and yet they look petrified to express themselves and as I said 6 weeks ago, he will play them every game irrespective of the opposition and now we...
No it's not ffs
We make it hard for ourselves sure...but im still not giving up
It's over pal
The management has sucked all the confidence and self-belief out of the team.
I think that's to do with how they are being instructed to play. It elicits pressure and stress.
100%, this is arguably the best squad we’ve ever had and yet they look petrified to express themselves and as I said 6 weeks ago, he will play them every game irrespective of the opposition and now we are seeing it again by how absolutely fucked they look physically
Lads have you considered the bigger picture and how we'd be a lot worse off without him?
I can. Same issue. They’re not trained to play one-touch. Just boring five touch cowardly football. I don’t blame the players entirely. It’s how they’re coached. It’s clear Mr Farah Fit square hasn’t got the ability to get over the line. He’s done well up to now. Let a winner take over in the summer. He doesn’t deserve this title with that gutless system.
Bournemouth have beaten us 3 straight on the trot.
Not possible
No way, by playing like this
We make it hard for ourselves sure...but im still not giving up
what a time to forget how to play football Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bournemouth have beaten us 3 straight on the trot.
His cup win 6 years ago was a total fluke.
Wasn't even his players ..I mean anyone who signs havertz zubi madueke and gyk
O hate Bournemouth. Next time we play thel I dont care if we get 6 red cards, I want us to snap their legs off. Cunt team
Just too easy for Bournemouth. They had our measure and we didn’t have enough
Shame the rest didn’t show as much fight as Rice and Gyokores
It's a test from god supporting this club
His cup win 6 years ago was a total fluke.
Won it with someone else's side.
He's reinstated the club as a competitive outfit but it ends there. Club/fans are entitled to want more.
His cup win 6 years ago was a total fluke.
Owes his entire career to a bloke he then ostracized
It's like ritual torture. City next week... I mean...
Vik shoulda just taken that on his left
Time to stop celebrating Arteta for what he did 3 years ago.

The management has sucked all the confidence and self-belief out of the team.

I still think we can do it...play nice boys
No way, by playing like this
Lads have you considered the bigger picture and how we'd be a lot worse off without him?
No one wants to watch that shite
Great strategy to get out to PL race so we can concentrate on the champions league
4, 3, 2, 1, 0
City are going to absolutely paste us
Lads have you considered the bigger picture and how we'd be a lot worse off without him?
Careful what you wish for, lads. Might be six seasons without a trophy.
Hold up...
I still think we can do it...play nice boys
Great strategy to get out to PL race so we can concentrate on the champions league
Haha
Great strategy to get out to PL race so we can concentrate on the champions league
Halt those contract talks
Halt? Fucking rip them up!
Absolute pile of shite
Yet another piss poor performance
Lads have you considered the bigger picture and how we'd be a lot worse off without him?
I cannot believe this form
This is all on Arteta and his fucking gutless brainless football
The Woolwich bottling company
Halt those contract talks
Thanks Arteta but it's time to go
Time to stop celebrating Arteta for what he did 3 years ago.
Fucking hell. That's that. Need Chavs to do us a favour.
Which won't happen
Fucking hell. That's that. Need Chavs to do us a favour.
They are getting rammed with no lube
Terminate his contract for that the fucking cunt
Seriously!?
How the fuck are paying fans to blame for this shit!? cunt
Some on Highbury Squad recently. Not much endorsement from the chat. People are starting to see through these guys now.
Fucking hell. That's that. Need Chavs to do us a favour.
LeGrove going to be spazzing out at half the fanbase on twitter.
Seriously!?
How the fuck are paying fans to blame for this shit!? cunt
Corner
And I have no confidence
LeGrove going to be spazzing out at half the fanbase on twitter.
Good news is lads like Moneypenny will soon permanently fuck off
If City wins all their games, will they win the league?
It's theres now
If City wins all their games, will they win the league?
Probably on goal difference
I really do want mik and that cunt heinze gone. today if possible.
Poor header Gyökeres
Devon Loch will have nothing on Arteta
This will define this club
If City wins all their games, will they win the league?
LeGrove going to be spazzing out at half the fanbase on twitter.
Said this for the longest time and people scoffed.
I totally agree man
1-2 down, 3 minutes left and we're still giving the ball up v cheaply
Been absolutely found out this season without Carlos as the number 2.
He absolutely fucked that appointment and is paying the price.
Loks like it
Been absolutely found out this season without Carlos as the number 2.
He absolutely fucked that appointment and is paying the price.

Been absolutely found out this season without Carlos as the number 2.

I said this earlier. Did that even go out? They are desperate every time to give throw ins
Going to that Samurai exhibition at the British Museum later. Hope the Katanas are safely stored.
What to do man. This is really depressing
Can't even ask the number 2 to take over, as he's even worse.
Think I might do a BoJack Horseman rewatch
I can’t believe we can’t win the second ball off the long ball. Just anticipate the are gonna win the first ball. I don’t think we’ve won one.
He just seems to be bereft of ideas, can't understand why he has fallen off of the perch so dramatically when he seemed to be quite a progressive manager.
We need an attack minded coach to lift the players and introduce some dynamism into the club.
Igor Rococo interim boost
Will not be forgotten to be mentioned by the media
Fire him tonight. New manager bounce might get us over the line.
Hah
Fire him tonight. New manager bounce might get us over the line.
Jesus lol
Fire him tonight. New manager bounce might get us over the line.
So yeah Limp Bizkit remains the highlight.
Limp very appropriate
People say 22/23 wasn't a bottle job but that shit against Southampton was horrific. Out of every other comp early too.
So yeah Limp Bizkit remains the highlight.
To throw away the league 3 seasons out of the last 4 is a fucking joke. No wonder we’re a fucking laughing stock
We can no longer do what made us good. Defending and shielding, being strong and robust. All gone, and what we have left is a meek, timid, and scared team who seem scared.
Also the whole thing about how these players don't know how good they are. Maybe tell them, mate?!
Arteta/club well within their their rights to ask the fans to bring the noise today... but you can't help but feel there's a silent 'because we really, really need it' in there.
Pep for me. Try to give him a challenge
Best of luck to Jack tomorrow!
Careful, you'll all get told it could actually get worse if the club hired a different manager...
If the football is good you can accept trophyless runs, but this atrocious football that looks like failing again is painful to watch and brings no enjoyment just frustration.
Our technical level is down the drain. Zubi gives this image of this master passer, but is actually poor
He can be frustrating at times, but I think it's because he gets so little of the ball so when he does we just hope for something
Our entire forward line sees so little of the ball under this style.
If the football is good you can accept trophyless runs, but this atrocious football that looks like failing again is painful to watch and brings no enjoyment just frustration.
100%. I preferred challenging for top 4 and entertaining football
Pathetic bunch of cowards this lot when it comes to the crunch.
Fucking awful performance
If the football is good you can accept trophyless runs, but this atrocious football that looks like failing again is painful to watch and brings no enjoyment just frustration.
With the exception of Gyok, none of our forwards has performed this season. They survive on breadcrumbs for chances.
He can be frustrating at times, but I think it's because he gets so little of the ball so when he does we just hope for something
It’s clear that this squad are massively underperforming so the only option is a change from MA now
Lucky to get another corner. Horrendous delivery.
We used to be a physical team at the peak of Arteta ball. Something about how we play now is so weak its maddening. So many lost duels.
It's so alarming! we kept clean sheets for fun in the past
With the exception of Gyok, none of our forwards has performed this season. They survive on breadcrumbs for chances.
Can anyone see anything but a loss at the Etihad?
Everything depends on Linked in Liam
you know we're not keeping a clean sheet
We might get a pen!
Absolutely nobody worse at throw ins than us
Best case scenario is 0-0
you know we're not keeping a clean sheet
We used to be a physical team at the peak of Arteta ball. Something about how we play now is so weak its maddening. So many lost duels.
Can anyone see anything but a loss at the Etihad?
Best case scenario is 0-0
Trossard for Martinelli was a mistake at that stage. Bringing on Eze and Max was enough to see what happened. Afraid Trossard is offering nothing recently. Bit of panic from Arteta at that time.
9 mins plus to save the season. COYGs!
yay!
And if we lose to City, then that’s it
Can anyone see anything but a loss at the Etihad?
9 mins plus to save the season. COYGs!
Great interception from Gabriel... if we someone dig out a win, big moment.
Couldn't get the ball to Martinelli, or Gyok, and now Max. It's like some sort of pattern.
Lose today and it is done.
Oh yeah. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves. If they can't handle the heat 7 games out they ain't winning anything.
It was also a ridiculous free kick.
And if we lose to City, then that’s it
Lose today and it is done.
And if we lose to City, then that’s it
yes.
Yes but even so...16 year old boy to save Arsenal FC?
Doesn't look your run of the mill 16 year old tbh
And if we lose to City, then that’s it
Need to get the ball to him. Not in this gutless system
Yes but even so...16 year old boy to save Arsenal FC?
How many fouls is Jimenez gonna be allowed before he gets a yellow. Gyok that was shite
So what’s the gap if we lose and City win all their games. 3 points?
yep
Wasted time all game, now we're in a hurry
So what’s the gap if we lose and City win all their games. 3 points?
If this is a trophyless season, it's high time this club looks to someone established. If fucking Tottenham can lure Conte and Mourinho...
We're winning fuck all and we all know it.
Bloke admits to leaving the League Cup final early and has the temerity to slate fans for being afraid of mockery.
They take so long to pass
The only thing that will save us is Chelsea taking points off C115eh tomorrow and we all know that ain't happening
We have a 16 year old to save us.
Need to get the ball to him. Not in this gutless system
If this is a trophyless season, it's high time this club looks to someone established. If fucking Tottenham can lure Conte and Mourinho...
If?
Arsenal Vision lads having him on again at the end of the season?
Clive is a snob.
We all agreed to grin and bear it watching us play ugly and yet we still concede two at home to fucking Bournemouth
Arsenal Vision lads having him on again at the end of the season?
If this is a trophyless season, it's high time this club looks to someone established. If fucking Tottenham can lure Conte and Mourinho...
Nah, Arteta can leave and take his mate Heinze with him. That has been his downfall, bringing that prick in.
THIS!!!!!!
They're giving this bloke a new contract lol
Seems he's reached his absolute peak. Time for a new voice
Don’t worry lads. We’re signing Anthony Gordon, that ought to fix it
Will be good to see how much he can contribute defensively
Don’t worry lads. We’re signing Anthony Gordon, that ought to fix it
god forbid
Nah, Arteta can leave and take his mate Heinze with him. That has been his downfall, bringing that prick in.
Dunno what else to say other than if you don’t pass forward out of the back you invite this shit.
Zubimendi should not be p’ayed anymore. He's been a major source of our struggles.
terrible player
Don’t worry lads. We’re signing Anthony Gordon, that ought to fix it
Zubimendi should not be p’ayed anymore. He's been a major source of our struggles.
They're giving this bloke a new contract lol
Please don't say that
Sick of this fucking story on loop
anything better than this wank
They're giving this bloke a new contract lol
Arteta needs to just fuck off
Jesus for gutless Zubimendi
We have a 16 year old to save us.
least we wont see arteta next year and wastin money on shite
Yeah Gabriel Jesus that should do it
Haha sensational
Club/fanbase is going to have to learn to live with some unpleasant epithets... because they're tried and tested.
Yeah Gabriel Jesus that should do it
And so ended another title attempt. Thanks guys. Fucking bottle jobs
Can’t pass out of the box. Outplayed by a “lesser” team. We’re bottling this. All down to shit tactics from Arteta
We need 15+ new players next season
LOL
We deserve all the shit we get, we deserve the bottler tag. We are a joke
We need 15+ new players next season
I said don't write obituaries earlier... fucking hell, we know the jig is up now.
The players don't learn. Arteta never learns.
Year after year after year... oh my lord.
Fuck them, shit like this don’t win anything
Nooo dont say it. Fuck man
Yeah I'm gonna need a lot of people to leave this club shortly.
Huffed and puffed and sold some merchandise
Stop fucking booting it David you cunt
Palying out hasn't worked
Trying to give me a stroke
By playing like Stoke
I think it wasn't massively different. What was different is we scored a load of at pieces
Nope it's not. We've never really "got going" at all this season. Kept on expecting us to but we just haven't.
How can we never win the second ball off the Raya long pass
You can have a fully fit xi and nothing much is going to change in terms of what we're seeing.
I guess I can see that happening.
Stop fucking booting it David you cunt
We're missing too many facilitators unfortunately, no Saka, no Ode, no Ethan.
You can have a fully fit xi and nothing much is going to change in terms of what we're seeing.
The only thing we're getting next weekend is a pasting
Minimum 3-0
The only thing we're getting next weekend is a pasting
true dat!
Trying to give me a stroke
This wasn't how we played earlier in the season
I think it wasn't massively different. What was different is we scored a load of at pieces
This wasn't how we played earlier in the season
That’s before they’ve played 50 odd games tho
Trossard’s so much slower these days
He's shit waste of space.
This is all just very unenjoyable.
Trossard’s so much slower these days
Like Saka
A draw is basically admiting defeat, no one can tell me with a straight face we're getting anything next weekend.
The only thing we're getting next weekend is a pasting
Trossard’s so much slower these days

We need to get him the ball.
We did and he fluffed it.
A draw is basically admiting defeat, no one can tell me with a straight face we're getting anything next weekend.
We need to get him the ball.
True
Max, so far, has had no impact, to be fair.
We need to get him the ball.
Back four and Zubi need to pass the ball forward there is nothing else to say
This is how we play, he can't change it mid game
This wasn't how we played earlier in the season
Can we bring on Reiss Nelson now?
Max, so far, has had no impact, to be fair.
The point is we can’t get out of our own half, our buildup is fucked, and that’s not going to change without personnel changes
If you want a high technical level and quick, incisive passing then he is the last midfielder you look to.
I would not. We need to go for the jugular - what the fuck is he going to offer? Good header on him... but still.
The point is we can’t get out of our own half, our buildup is fucked, and that’s not going to change without personnel changes
If we lose or draw this game playing like this, Arteta is the one to blame
This is how we play, he can't change it mid game
genuinely would bring on Norgaard- I don’t think zubimendi has been our worst player but something needs to change with our midfield dynamics
I would not. We need to go for the jugular - what the fuck is he going to offer? Good header on him... but still.
If we lose or draw this game playing like this, Arteta is the one to blame
These cowards need to go spend a month or two in my home country, might grow a spine.
OOOOOOOOOOOO nice shot Rice
i think bournemouth should put arteta out of his misery
Only if they make a mistake
genuinely would bring on Norgaard- I don’t think zubimendi has been our worst player but something needs to change with our midfield dynamics
Brought out the worst and killed the best parts of this team.
100%
How can we not progress past the halfway line with passes. It’s embarrassing.
How are you going to fucking clear that. My fucking god.
Carlos Cuesta provide individual-level meta data and focus. Definitely a void.
Big mistakes creeping into Raya's game this half.
Yep we had a little bit of identity before.
Heinze has made us worse too.
Brought out the worst and killed the best parts of this team.
I genuinely don't think I can watch any more of this
FUCK OFF RAYA!!!! FUCK ME!
Cripes!
When you sub off Martinelli and replace him with a player who hasn't scored this year tells you all you need to know about our play this season.
We play every team like they're peak Barca.
So fearful and nervous.
We will probably play the real Barca in 3 weeks time
FUCK OFF RAYA!!!! FUCK ME!
Carlos Cuesta provide individual-level meta data and focus. Definitely a void.
Big mistakes creeping into Raya's game this half.
cant wait for this manager to fk off
We look like a pub side
Shame Gyökeres
Just find him
He really doesn't get the service he needs
I am not, but what the fuck are we doing going backwards? It's Bournemouth not Barca!
We play every team like they're peak Barca.
So fearful and nervous.
I don't want to watch another season of this
Arteta out of ideas like his team
Even if he bags the title, this project cannot continue if there is no attempt to change the method. This is absolutely horrendous.
Heinze has made us worse too.
We look like a pub side
Shame Gyökeres
Just find him
If he bags the title there will be less pressure
I do think this plays a part. But this is also a squad purpose built for him and technically it is very poor.
Nice strike. More of those.
sorry didn't mean to quote!
Even if he bags the title, this project cannot continue if there is no attempt to change the method. This is absolutely horrendous.
OHHHHHHHHH FFS!!!!
Even if he bags the title, this project cannot continue if there is no attempt to change the method. This is absolutely horrendous.
If he bags the title there will be less pressure
Even if he bags the title, this project cannot continue if there is no attempt to change the method. This is absolutely horrendous.
Mourimho's Chelsea was better than this..
We’ve not won any aerial balls so why are we hoofing it
I am not, but what the fuck are we doing going backwards? It's Bournemouth not Barca!
Even if he bags the title, this project cannot continue if there is no attempt to change the method. This is absolutely horrendous.
This is incredibly cowardly
then hoofs it. Fuck my days.
Don't blame him tbf
Sad to see us like this.
at home
then hoofs it. Fuck my days.
Completely pointless
Fucking hell no wonder the crowd is restless! Prices going up next season too!
then hoofs it. Fuck my days.
Raya getting more touches than outfield players.
Raya has had more touches than quite a few I bet!
That's a fucking breakaway and Eze is rooted to the spot like he expects Bournemouth to get the (non)penalty.
Will be such a different game. All players in our half, try to break us down.
Probably not performance wise but in terms of
Points and statement, massively
They seem to be winning all the second balls
and the first ones
They seem to be winning all the second balls
Because they are
Eze just stationary. Need far more urgency there.
They seem to be winning all the second balls
It does feel like we don't want it enough, which is crazy to say. I dread to think what will happen when we play city
Don't even want to contemplate that until this match ends. A lot to stomach with the score as is.
It does feel like we don't want it enough, which is crazy to say. I dread to think what will happen when we play city
Will be such a different game. All players in our half, try to break us down.
But they are fighting for midtable.
Mad isn't it!
Bournmouth still just look much better, they want it more it seems
I don’t think “they want it more” is ever good analysis. Do you think this arsenal team doesn’t want to get forward? They are better than us tactically and technically, it’s not a question of desire
It does feel like we don't want it enough, which is crazy to say. I dread to think what will happen when we play city
Zubi’s the issue. Gutless
Bournmouth still just look much better, they want it more it seems
But they are fighting for midtable.
Yes Max. These cunts need to be pushed around a bit. They have to feel pain with every duel
Wow look how they're keeping the ball
Rice genuinely world class, genuinely also a conundrum. Can play most midfield roles to a really high level but also lacks the real craft of specialists at 6 and 8.
Has the cutting edge of a butter knife.
Have we even got the ball down? Ffs
Bournmouth still just look much better, they want it more it seems
High line needed. Too easy for them. No pressing atvall
Rice genuinely world class, genuinely also a conundrum. Can play most midfield roles to a really high level but also lacks the real craft of specialists at 6 and 8.
I've been saying that for over 60 years!
drink and drugs help somewhat lol
We havent had the ball for a long time. Worrying
Take off havertz and continue to play goofball straight to their keeper. Right
All of this from Rice deciding to pass vack and press us when we could have gone forward. We need to fucking stop this nonesense
I swear this team is gonna kill me
I've been saying that for over 60 years!
Trossard has don't nothing since villa! Marti didn't get the ball at all
Did next to nothing with those fleeting moments when he did. Also think Trossard is the more likely to do something against these guys... lack of explosiveness notwithstanding.
I swear this team is gonna kill me
Trossard is better as a sub, he'll score today
Trossard has don't nothing since villa! Marti didn't get the ball at all
This, he can't do much without a decent ball, barely got one or two.
Fucking helll!!!!!! wtf Raya
Trossard has don't nothing since villa! Marti didn't get the ball at all
Slightly better passing possibly
His run and pass on Tuesday was sublime.
No pace with Tross though.
Pace is nothing if you can’t control the ball
No pace with Tross though.
Slightly better passing possibly
No pace with Tross though.
Martinelli rarely uses his pace anyway
Not much else he’s done. Not elite, never will be
No pace with Tross though.
Please Eze pretend it's sp*rs!
More of the same from Arsenal.
Maybe the pre-game Mogadon wasn't such a good idea by Arteta
Madueke corners are superb.
Step the fuck up Trossard I know you got it in you
Wouldn’t necessarily have brought on Tross but Nelli has been no better than anyone else
Fucking crazy how we're all relying on a 16 year old lol
Looks like Eze and Trossard
....and Max
Looks like Eze and Trossard
Madueke stood like a statue on the halfway line cheers mate
Think it's to keep the middle from being croweded
Eze Trossard, half and half
Madueke stood like a statue on the halfway line cheers mate
We need technical security up front. I would bring Eze in for Gyökeres and use Havertz as a nine
Raya sees a break rolls it out we fucking go backwards. Cunts.
If Jesus gets introduced the fans need to invade the pitch and get the game called off
If we see Jesus and Tross they need to stand up and be counted
Go home you're drunk!
Super risky pass, but it only needed to be a bit softer to open them up. We cant keep going long and ceding possession.
That wasn't a foul imo MLS did well
If we see Jesus and Tross they need to stand up and be counted
lol bro
If we see Jesus and Tross they need to stand up and be counted
FFS, go long Raya, this lot can't play out with this press.
He is trying to play some line breaking passes as no one else seems capable of it
FFS, go long Raya, this lot can't play out with this press.
4-4-2, hit Kai and Gyok with long balls and get Noni and Martinelli to attack the second ball.
That tackle from Lewis-Skelly was fine.
FFS, go long Raya, this lot can't play out with this press.
Every minute that passes without a sub is a minute wasted, btw. We are not scoring with this 11
They keep the ball really well
Oh havertz....
someone needs to take him out back
Yes, feels similar. Need Eze and Dowman to break that spell.
"spell" being the operative world. I reckon we build the stadium on an old Saxon burial ground or something.
I think Arteta had chances to probably save 10, 15 mins off of legs at end of games which he didn’t do well enough.
Norgaard is great aerially. He is very useful when teams launch high balls into the box late in games. We coukd have used him against brentford
I'm sure he's good enough to have started 5-10 games and brought on as a sub for another 10.
That's what I think.
He was captain at Brentford, he's pretty solid albeit not amazing.
The way Arteta sets the team up invites pressure and stress. It's a self-fulfilling problem he has created.
It didn't need to be this way.
He has the ability to carry that ball into the box and create something
If Zubi could get that Bergkamp mean streak to him, fight fire with fire sometimes, loosen up a few teeth, he'd get harrassed much less.
MLS is basically our only chance of progressing the ball through midfield.
Cherries did the double over us last season. Need to stop that run, now!
This feels like games we’ve seen in recent seasons as this time of year. All the pre match anticipation's and ending with disappointment.
Villa at home two seasons ago comes to mind
We so badly need...
Yes, feels similar. Need Eze and Dowman to break that spell.
Need a bit of final third magic from MLS
He has been really good.
Anyone got Reiss Nelson’s number
Most defenders have
Need a bit of final third magic from MLS
Think Norgaard just might not be good enough
I'm sure he's good enough to have started 5-10 games and brought on as a sub for another 10.

I’m all for replacing Havertz with Eze. I do think Havertz is dropping back because Zubi once again is playing conservatively, conceding space in key areas.
But that was a penalty, wasn't it? Or are even our own fans going to chuck shit at us for decisions going in our favour? That's not to detract from Bournemouth moving and playing like PSG whereas we'r...
For me it is a pen by the laws today, but do I think it is actually what a penalty should be? No fucking way.
I think how impotent our high press is a clear indication of our fatigue but here we are.
I think Arteta had chances to probably save 10, 15 mins off of legs at end of games which he didn’t do well enough.
Feels like there have been so few games though were there has been more than a goal in it going into the last 20.
Anyone got Reiss Nelson’s number
Poor first half. Lucky to get the penalty, no way would score from open play. Kai close with the header but that was it. Meh.
But that was a penalty, wasn't it? Or are even our own fans going to chuck shit at us for decisions going in our favour? That's not to detract from Bournemouth moving and playing like PSG whereas we're stilted and lacking cohesion.
This feels like games we’ve seen in recent seasons as this time of year. All the pre match anticipation's and ending with disappointment.
Villa at home two seasons ago comes to mind
We so badly need to break out of this pattern
Think Norgaard just might not be good enough
I think Arteta had chances to probably save 10, 15 mins off of legs at end of games which he didn’t do well enough.
Poor squad management if that's the case, you can't tell me Norgaard couldn't have played in alot of games
100%
I think it's a mixture of fatigue and opposition teams pressing him
It’s fatigue imo- he looked like one of the best mids in the league for half the season.
Looked in Aug/Sep like he could be that player for us. Did we misprofile him or is he just knackered
He's obviously tired. As others have said, he's never played so much football and especially not at this intensity.
Think Norgaard just might not be good enough
Poor squad management if that's the case, you can't tell me Norgaard couldn't have played in alot of games
I completely agree

Nervous East Upper.
Kids taking pens against Gunnersaurus.
Need to switch things round in second half.
Would love to see Dowman.
I think it would be perfect for him.
Defender was mimicking Christ on the Cross. Right arm was stuck out.
Not a 'lucky' decision.
That reminded me of our Jesus which is not helping.
I'll tell you what we need. We need the boys to start using their elbows more, Muay Thai style. Every team that presses our midfield gets us inntrouble because of our lacking buildup. They also always get extra physical when the mids get the ball facing our goal. Our lads need to give a good front teeth check every time they climb our back, get them to back off a bit
Looked in Aug/Sep like he could be that player for us. Did we misprofile him or is he just knackered
Poor squad management if that's the case, you can't tell me Norgaard couldn't have played in alot of games
Yeah! I don't see how anyone can argue that it wasn't a stonewall pen!
Nailed on pen. Seen some given a few inches from the body. This was above his head
Dont most of you guys have your own set anyway?
Charming
Defender was mimicking Christ on the Cross. Right arm was stuck out.
Not a 'lucky' decision.
But it wasn't already stuck out. He stuck it out as the ball was passing him...
You Kai's penalty in the half-time kids competition was quality. The best Kai on show today.
Timber has been a massive miss and so has Merino
He actually stuck his arm out as the ball was passing him!!
Defender was mimicking Christ on the Cross. Right arm was stuck out.
Not a 'lucky' decision.
We need Max but I fear having White behind him and Kai next to him. First half we were already wide open.
I’d bring on Eze, Dowman, and Mosquera but i appreciate this isn’t fifa
I thought that Zubi was bought to make those passes

Yeah! I don't see how anyone can argue that it wasn't a stonewall pen!

We need a team with the quality to play a high line.
Next season we need to fix this.
Never ever happening
WTF Keown!
It was a clear handball
Yes, by today's standards, but not when he played.
We need a team with the quality to play a high line.
Next season we need to fix this.
Heinze has been the death of any type of attack

Agree with you, we are not going to fix the attack. But can’t let the game drift away, need some proactive subs.
I'm sick of seeing the ball given up so cheaply.
Have to ask, if the stress is hurting them now, how bad is it going to be in a few weeks at time to Newcastle?

+Home
Kai has got to score that header.
Have to ask, if the stress is hurting them now, how bad is it going to be in a few weeks at time to Newcastle?
Arsenal merch team runs a damn sweatshop but they're missing a trick with stress balls.
Dont most of you guys have your own set anyway?
Let's just get the win.
We simply aren't going to play free-flowing football.
I've said so often that the 2026 results have caught up with our performances. We just need to eke out a win.

Just dint let Kepa behind the counter, he'd drop it.

If you notice that, initially, the person who is going to take the penalty never picks it up initially. It avoids the taker getting sledged.
Eze is better around the opposition box. Dont think he would be good around ours.

That's where a Nwaneri would have been godsent. Think on that Teta...yes I still resent us sending him on loan

Hearing Limp Bizkit is never a highlight of anything
Maybe the onus is on the word "Limp", seems appropriate!
Arsenal merch team runs a damn sweatshop but they're missing a trick with stress balls.
😂😂
Arsenal merch team runs a damn sweatshop but they're missing a trick with stress balls.
It wasn't a good cross though, without the deflection there isn't the chance to score.
Still got in behind too easily.
Hearing Limp Bizkit is never a highlight of anything
I have to agree
Hearing Limp Bizkit is never a highlight of anything
boooooo!
My cousin who's in the west stand agrees with me that apart from the penalty hearing limp bizkit has been the highlight of the match lol!
Hearing Limp Bizkit is never a highlight of anything
I get that this is just how this team plays and we aren’t going to reinvent ourselves as a creative passing side with 6 games to go but can we at least stop playing havertz in midfield
It’s got nothing to do with playing him there. His touch has been poor and he’s not getting forward enough. He’s also needed defensively. It’s the quality of the final ball. When I saw him picking up the ball for the pen my heart was in my mouth. Relief when he handed it to Gyök I think everyobe felt that. We need Eze out there ASAP.
Glad to be going level at half time. Some very poor performances in the first half especially Kai, Martinelli and Madueke. Zubi not too far off. Saliba, Gabriel, MLS and Rive holding them off. Raya is a very good keeper.

That’s not really Zubi’s game though
I'd sooner bring in Eze for Zubimendi
Eze is better around the opposition box. Dont think he would be good around ours.
Zubi needs to get the attack started from deep. All he does is play sideways and back which finally Raya gets going again.
All very disjointed
How many times have we played now this season where well over half the team have been below par. Cannot carry on
New manager next year, things will be better .
That's what I love about our club, we just make it super duper easy for ourselves. Like sitting on a fluffy cloud. It really is a wonderfully relaxing team to cheer on. Huzzah for the chaps!
Well said...
Not a great half. White went to sleep for their goal, but the penalty was nailed on. Havertz has been very poor, Madueke has been poor and Zubimendi is doing his annoying six touches and a backwards ...
It wasn't a good cross though, without the deflection there isn't the chance to score.
At what point do we consider hiring a shaman to lift the curse?
The problem is they are playing through us with ease. Rice at 6 with Kai and Eze does not fill me with confidence.
Need more ball quality on the flanks

Not a great half. White went to sleep for their goal, but the penalty was nailed on. Havertz has been very poor, Madueke has been poor and Zubimendi is doing his annoying six touches and a backwards pass thing. Hopefully we can just grind this one out.
Given how we've played, we've done well to go in level at half time. Let's hope we can play better in the second half.
That's what I love about our club, we just make it super duper easy for ourselves. Like sitting on a fluffy cloud. It really is a wonderfully relaxing team to cheer on. Huzzah for the chaps!
MLS has played well. Rice a captain’s performance, dragging this team through it’s nerves. But we need changes up front. Dowman and Eze though I think it’ll be on 60mins now
I get that this is just how this team plays and we aren’t going to reinvent ourselves as a creative passing side with 6 games to go but can we at least stop playing havertz in midfield
Got a lot to shake up before the next half
Ok acnh fishing til next half
Dec, Gyok and MLS only ones showing energy.
Poor first half. Lucky to get the penalty, no way would score from open play. Kai close with the header but that was it. Meh.
I'd sooner bring in Eze for Zubimendi
Agreed
I'd sooner bring in Eze for Zubimendi
Very lucky to be level. Changes needed
What a tune!!! Limp Bizkit!
I missed any buildup to this game. Is Odegaard crocked again?
Bournmouth look much better
Havertz just isn't a midfielder. He's deeper than usual and still ineffective.
Has to come off for Eze
Havertz just isn't a midfielder. He's deeper than usual and still ineffective.
Madwookie doing well to draw the fouls
Oh he's just being his usual self
Havertz needs to come off. He's been crap
Raya needs to be careful there. Those seconds will be totted up readily.
Kai is a 9 or nothing at all. Maybe a last 15 minutes midfielder to chase a goal.
Wow that was a good ball we got lucky
My blood pressure must be sky high
Not a good position for him in this type of game
I don't miss Xhaka at all btw but my god the club made a hash of midfield signings.
Xhaka actually played like a CM. Made lateral and vertical runs and gave Martinelli constant support.
He has, he's played enough minutes now so can't blame just coming back from injury anymore
I don't miss Xhaka at all btw but my god the club made a hash of midfield signings.
Our CDM is our box-to-box and the most quintessential 8 in this team (Zubimendi) is a fucking Mariana's trench deep-lying playmaker.
I was never convinced. Maybe just not being played in the right position, he looks absolutely out of his depth.
I agree with ya. Maybe also something to do with the minutes hes played like others said but he's definitely gone down in my eyes
Arteta looks stressed
If he wanted possession, he picked the wrong line-up
Playing too deep. Waiting to get hit
Remember when we used to say Xhaka will be easily upgraded?
Zhala was a better passer and miss those Xhakabooms
Badly missing someone to play through the lines quickly
Remember when we used to say Xhaka will be easily upgraded?
Still miss him to this day
Remember when we used to say Xhaka will be easily upgraded?
I'd take him back in a heartbeat.
I would take Xhaka back all day long
No he isn't, Rice and he should switch
Exactly
We talk about our attackers but this set-up doesn't exactly enable our midfielders to shine either. Zubimendi is not a mediocre footballer.
He’s class and he looked every bit physical enough for this league up until the last few months. You can tell his legs are sapped.
Which is bad news considering our entire game model is physically outdoing the other team
Can't remember the last time we did that
Remember when we used to say Xhaka will be easily upgraded?
Think he was mis-profiled tbh. Not a 6 by a long shot.
No he isn't, Rice and he should switch
We seem to have lost the element of physicality in our game - being pushed off the ball far too easily
Which is bad news considering our entire game model is physically outdoing the other team
I've grown to hate Zubi a little bit. He's too fucking soft man. No grinta

He hit a wall. He’s never played this much with so much intensity. He’s undoubtedly a class player
He's wank
Seriously what has happened to Zubi

At what point in the season did Zubi Zubi Do become Zubi Zubi Don't?
Zubi is going to cost us at least once in the run in
Seriously what has happened to Zubi
We've been no better since equalising
Our press is nonexistent anymore. They pass through us like a training exercise
How the fuck did Zubi miss the ball
Awful.
If I were to throw these players a bone, it has to be enervating winning so many matches through sheer will and toil.
How the fuck did Zubi miss the ball
Hope Gyok is not hurt there. Should have earnzd Senesi a yellow, Oliver
Not bad considering the service he gets, IE none.
Exactly!
Dictionary definition of an orthodox CF the highest scorer in any Arteta era season. Tells you something.
I would still like some subs though at half time. Maybe Dowman for Havertz/Madueke
Get zubi off
Not bad considering the service he gets, IE none.
Literally everyone else is way underperforming their GA
I would still like some subs though at half time. Maybe Dowman for Havertz/Madueke
Fuck off ref!!! free kick all day
That’s not bad at all for his first season and how crap we are in attack
He’s on like 18 now I believe
He’ll get 20 goals in all comps easy
Not bad considering the service he gets, IE none.
He’ll get 20 goals in all comps easy
That’s not bad at all for his first season and how crap we are in attack
What is this stupid refcam???
Say what you want about Gyok but he’s done his job and got the 20 goals we said we needed.
Literally everyone else has shit the bed in terms of G/A
City have the right idea - to fit a guy like Haaland in the team you need technical wizards around him to cover for his low touches. We have surrounded Gyok with wrestlers and cloggers which makes him look shitter
So much power behind his shots
He’ll get 20 goals in all comps easy
He can't do much but my god he can thundercunt a football
We all know how potent these players can be in accommodating set-ups.
HAHA!! Blogs getting annoyed with fletch too lol
Gyok just smashes the ball
With precision
Say what you want about Gyok but he’s done his job and got the 20 goals we said we needed.

20 G/A in all comps?

This!

Literally everyone else has shit the bed in terms of G/A
We're in this despite absolute shit.
Gyok just smashes the ball
He hits a fucking amazing penalty
Gyok has his limitations but he also has the minerals not to let you down in that kind of moment
100%
Gyok might be slow and pondering, but he sure can hit a football
Goalie's attempt to save was just about perfect but the sheer pace on the ball beat him.
I was so scared when Havertz had the ball
I was petrified when martinelli stood over it
Clutch from Gyökeres. A lot of pressure.
Gyok has his limitations but he also has the minerals not to let you down in that kind of moment
Did you hear the cheer when Havertz handed it to Der Bomber!!!
A gift. Now wake up you prats
Bet the mortgage on blasts them, old school.
I was so scared when Havertz had the ball
Is this the debut of this Refcam shit. Makes me highly uncomfortable.
No. You not seen the horrifying close ups of Bruno?
Is this the debut of this Refcam shit. Makes me highly uncomfortable.
The most pen of all pens.
Fucking lucky. No way we can afford to miss this gift.
Fuck off fletcher it's a fucking penalty ya cunt
Time for Gyok to kick the keeper in the net
Nerves are apparent and nobody see that’s more than Bournemouth
Playing like this all year
Their passing is crisp, movement swift.
They look good
Can’t see us getting anything without some subs
They’re coming. Inevitable. I think half time has to be. Please be bold Arteta.
Can't believe I'm the one saying this but let's not write obituaries just yet.
It will be a miracle of we win anything playing like this
Nerves are apparent and nobody see that’s more than Bournemouth
Bournmouth look so much better than us, first to everything
Their passing is crisp, movement swift.
Subs need to be made now. The title is on the line here and that forward line is a net negative.
Today is the day that the title starts to disappear
I want Zuvimendi ofg for Dowman
Bournmouth look so much better than us, first to everything
Cannot construct attacks from the back... but when would Arteta ever change shit up.
Can’t see us getting anything without some subs
Nice. We did fuck all for 30 mins at home
Pathetic init
Eze for Havertz and Dowman for Madueke at HT or the manager is a coward
This
Nice. We did fuck all for 30 mins at home
No shot on target, nothing.
Wow Rice. Everyone droping a stinker
Eze for Havertz and Dowman for Madueke at HT or the manager is a coward
I mean this is the first time we’ve seen Eze in the team. He might not be fit to play a half.
This forwatd line has never been good at ball retention and creativity. I'm not sure why anyone would think Martinelli, Madueke and Gyokereswould suddenly change. The front line needs quick release to speedy wingers - thus the poor ball security.
I get that he's Saka back-up but Arteta signed a wildcard when his system demanded someone with infinitely more technical security and discipline.
which, ironically, Nwaneri has
He is killing me off, prick
Thank fuck it’s just him today and not McCoist too
This Madueke signing is just such a mystery. Will Nwaneri have done a better job?

Fuck off Fletcher your more annoying than hemorrhoids

Arteta/club totally within their rights to ask fans to be raucous and lively today... but you just cannot start games like this off the back of that.
So close Rice to Gyökeres
It was Nb but also very annoying how no ones seems to be able to thead a pass in behind. The lack of quality for a team of our ambitions is shocking
Eze for Havertz and Dowman for Madueke at HT or the manager is a coward
Should have passed to Martinelli but my god... you cannot tell me this team cannot pass better. Such half-baked nothingness in attack.
So casual

Raya seems the most attacking player
Thats on the manager to make them play our game
@northbank - Havertz is absolutely playing as a midfielder, not a second striker, and he’s stinking it out
It’s nothing to do with his position. All front four are stinking the place out with atrocious final balls. They’ve had the space. But yeah, Havertz is playing deeper.
This team. Massively flawed. They just don't know how to get it done
Take Raya, Gabriel, Saliba and maybe Rice out of our squad and we are basically a mid-table team.
@northbank - Havertz is absolutely playing as a midfielder, not a second striker, and he’s stinking it out
Bournmouth look much more likely to get a second
They'll win
Just wonder about Eze’s actual fitness
If he was fit, he'd be a starter with Ode injured
Tbf all of our technical players are hurt. Except Tross who has been shit since December and Jesus who is useless.
Then find a way to win with what you have. Arteta vouched for Madueke himself.
This happens every season. We get to such a crucial point and then we play games like pre season
Unfortunately can easily see us huffing and puffing and then conceding a second
Picking this front three again is just dumbfounding. Deserve everything we get.
Bournmouth look much more likely to get a second
Will Chelsea take him back?
We bought him over semenyo
Just wonder about Eze’s actual fitness
Madueke just irritates me.
Will Chelsea take him back?
Max gonna have to come in early today. This front three has no ball security at all.
And Eze

If we dont get a shot on target here then they can fuck themselves
We didn't
Madueke just irritates me.

Our most technically proficient player is currently revising for his GCSEs
What a pass from Raya though
That was nice, deserved better
FFS Kai! Pass it straight back to them dickhead
What a pass from Raya though
Finally a Gyok foul is blown
Havertz really is dogshite
Tbf all of our technical players are hurt. Except Tross who has been shit since December and Jesus who is useless.
FFS Kai! Pass it straight back to them dickhead
What happened to Zubimendi? Guy's a shadow of himself
Shouldn't be hoping as opposed to expecting an equaliser to this degree. I mean, we're probably not going to pass through them like Argentina v. Mexico '06.
Get some more corners please
Zubimendi picks up the ball in space, does a 360, and passes it back to a CB.
Awful, that or kicks it out for a throw.
But hey ho. Should refrain from individual players being burnt. This is the managers image and it's nasty.

Sometimes this bunch of players are disgustingly below standard. God man
Martinelli not for the first time cant do anything with the ball
His run and pass created the goal on Tuesday
Martinelli not for the first time cant do anything with the ball
Kai is not a midfielder. Maybe in the last 20 minutes of a game.
He's started well, apart from his throw-ins.
Come on guys. There is a title on the line
Havertz has to score that. Borderline sitter.
Really no excuse to miss
It was the first thing they did. fucking joke!
Well we’ve been chasing shadows most of the game so there’s that
Honestly can't believe that didn't feel up the back up the net.
Havertz has to score that. Borderline sitter.
He missed a lot of sitters
One attempt, one goal. Classic Arsenal
It was the first thing they did. fucking joke!
One attempt, one goal. Classic Arsenal
It helps when the attempt is an unchallenged shot from the 6 yard box. Ben has been a defensive liability for a while now.
The technical level in this side for one leading the league is so so bad.
You’re not wrong. Looked like the kits were reversed.
Havertz has to score that. Borderline sitter.
The technical level in this side for one leading the league is so so bad.
What does it tell you about the technical level that Bournemouth are knocking it in circles around us at home and nobody is shocked
Gutless wonders the lot of them. We deserve nothing this season playing like this
One attempt, one goal. Classic Arsenal
We have had no attempts
Need more from martinelli.
Its not good, but it's less than 20 minutes into the match
One attempt, one goal. Classic Arsenal

Ben was trying to hold the offside line but not coordinated with the others. God man, I hatr this fucking Bournemouth team
Madueke too not tracking back
More than enough time for a response. Concentrate lads
Ben was trying to hold the offside line but not coordinated with the others. God man, I hatr this fucking Bournemouth team
Ben was in no mad land
For instance, Clive Palmer.
We’ll bring on eze and dowman at some point, start to look like we can play football, and the manager will forget all about it and play havertz in midfield again with the same front three next week
Whatever happens today, do not want the self-appointed intelligentsia of this fanbase blaming the fans.
Ben was trying to hold the offside line but not coordinated with the others. God man, I hatr this fucking Bournemouth team
Raya has had more touches than all the midfield.
Totally unaware of what was behind him
Fuck - was the cross deflected?
Yup. Ben White and Madueke not aware of what was going on
Fuck man that was coming.
Bournemouth lets the ball do all the work. We make such hard work out of build up and playing out the back.
The problem is the multiple goals that will be required. We don't do that with great regularity.
Fuck - was the cross deflected?
Well, let's see what we're made of etc. etc.
Fucking better.
Well, let's see what we're made of etc. etc.
Their guy Rayan is tricky. Hope MLS is focused.
Crazy pass by Noni- bailed out by MLS
Crazy indeed. Good from MLS
Hospital pass by Noni, then an overhit cross by Martinelli. Jesus man
Interesting pass from Madueke. If Lewis-Skelly has a good game his impact could be incalculable.
Crazy pass by Noni- bailed out by MLS
Not a hugely encouraging start but Bournemouth playing well.
They are really well organised. Unbeaten in 11.
Rice tried to do that, Martinelli asleep
Yup he was flat footed there. Gyok getting some joy fown the flanks
The orchestrated collective movement when they play out of the back is mightily impressive. We don’t do that.
Rice tried to do that, Martinelli asleep
Not a hugely encouraging start but Bournemouth playing well.
Fuckin hell their passing is so much crisper and accurate
Lots of space on Martinelli’s side
We need to find him!
They always do that. We need to crack them when break the press to make them cower back.
Lots of space on Martinelli’s side
High press from Bournemouth, we like a bit hesitant playing out.
They always do that. We need to crack them when break the press to make them cower back.
Hands up who reckons Oliver would have let us get away with that
Ha! Never!
High press from Bournemouth, we like a bit hesitant playing out.
Wonder does Raya find it a bit demoralising inviting all that pressure to pass through op forward lines and then witnessing the defenders and midfielders in front of him instantly go into conservative mode.
Hands up who reckons Oliver would have let us get away with that
Delaying the game is only ann Arsenal punishment I guess
This Evanilson is a dangerous player, keeps running all day.
Dreadful. To be fair no one is moving, like statues.
MLS throws...dear, oh dear.
Hate 'em!
Oliver has stopped dying his hair.
MLS throws...dear, oh dear.
Disagree. Not just saying this cos it’s us, but I have felt all season that they are so desperate to flag for a throw and are often guessing - saw it happen to west ham yesterday too - no idea why they let offsides play on for so long yet seem so conservative when it comes to touchline/goal line. Whole of the ball over the whole of the line anyone?
Ah well, Gyok should be sharper there then but I liked how Ben played the throw quickly
I dunno didnt seem to be out for me
It was.
That's the type of thing Gyökeres needs to do far better. No excuse to run that out.
I dunno didnt seem to be out for me
That didnt go out you donkey ref.

I can do the first one, but the last two..i will end up pissing myself
Oh, that's not good. Wishin a speedy recovery km and hopefully that 3-0 win prediction works out
Early Arse
Well in Classy!
GOYGs time to go 12 points clear!
Let's hope we don't run like stone!
Good to see Eze on the bench but I can’t believe the injuries we have at this juncture. Backing MLS to have a good game. Cmon boys!
Arse!
Be lucky classy.

Worried about the full backs. Hopefully Ben White is back to his best with the recent game time. Odegaard, Calafiori missing too many games for my liking.
If Ben White cuts out the stupid fouls I think he will be OK.
Right! Here we go!
See you at half time
COYG!
Who was that wanker doing punditry for tnt just now? Told MLS ‘don’t bother coming into midfield, just play as a normal left back’. Why tell players not to lean into the thing they’re good at? If you ...
He can find himself out of position and isn't so sharp at recognising danger behind him, then he struggles to get back and that's when he risks fouling. He's done that too often. Needs to cut that out, but I agree he's needed surging forward too. That's the strongest part of his game.
100 games in red and white for Dec today
Could be worse! The front four's ok, though a lot depends on Madueke's distribution from the wings. Good options form the bench in Eze and Dowman.

If Eze is fit I wish he was starting. Don't want to wait for the subs before we have any attacking threat. Fingers crossed everyone.
Paracetamol/acetaminophen for aches and fever, nasal spray for nose congrstion, lots and lots of fluids.

Any cures for a raging cold that seems increasingly flu like (apart from a double LIIT and a 3-0 win)?

I need to somehow get from my bed to the lounge without teleporting
I'm nervous as a whore in church
Sweating like a paedo in a playground

Nervous Arse. Pre-match thoughts : I hope our buildup in the back is immaculate, cause Bournemouth are good at pressing and have punished us for sloppy play before.
We need to intimidate them back into a deeper setup and set pice them to death. Then never let them back into it. COYG!
What can relax me and give me joy?
I know, I'll have another doppio. That's sure to work!

Darren England always fails to correct Oliver's decisions. I honestly thought that they would be split, even if only for the optics. Remember, they were two of the four Premier League referees to be paid £20k for officiating in UAE.
Who was that wanker doing punditry for tnt just now? Told MLS ‘don’t bother coming into midfield, just play as a normal left back’. Why tell players not to lean into the thing they’re good at? If you had Trent but told him not to join the attack there’d be no point picking him! Also given the players ahead of him, if MLS can’t help out in midfield or pass through the lines then we won’t get out of our own third

I love Ben. The club is in his debt for wrecking his body, but post-injury Ben White is not the same player. Seeing Ben and MLS starting is a worry.
But we've been dealt the cards, so COYG
Wonder if Saka/Timber will return this season
I imagine both will be available next Sunday. Managing load I hope.

Going with the wife today, hopefully she'll be good luck! The last time she came we beat Lincoln 5-0 in the cup.

Not the ideal line-up against Bournemouth.
Nevertheless, time to buckle up and prove our credentials

The full-backs have a lot of responsibility, especially MLS. I think he should be well aware not to make any rash challenges with Oliver about. It will be inexcusable if he does.
Sad to see Calafiori missing again, but maybe managing him for next Sunday. Good to see Hincapié back though. Him and Mosquera equally good options from the bench if the first-line full-backs struggle.

@everyone Arsenal: Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly, Zubimendi, Rice, Havertz, Martinelli, Madueke, Gyokeres
Subs: Kepa, Mosquera, Salmon, Hincapie, Norgaard, Eze, Dowman, Trossard, Jesus

That's good news I guess :)
Fuck, just seen it's Michael Oliver reffing, the effing sadistic-looking prison officer type! Keep safe boys, nothing risky.

Agreed. Though a starting line-up of Martinelli, Eze, Gyökeres and Saka is certainly doable and if Saka isn't ready to start, much as I'd love to see Dowman start, I can only hope that Madueke when he gets on the ball, acts on that first instinct when he beats the defender and doesn't keep checking back and forth for more. If he can trust that instinct, he has enough pace and power and a fair bit of quality to make a difference.

Fuck off Bruce.
Havertz behind Gyökeres has more than once proved decisive. He operates further forward and more direct than Ødegaard. I have had this discussion in other places too, I object to saying that position ...
I agree havertz for odegaard isn’t a like for like replacement but playing him nonetheless means you have to sacrifice a midfielder you’d otherwise have had - I see too much long ball and inability to pass through the lines when we have both havertz and gyokeres up front + 2 centre mids. The Sporting goal is a great example of where it can work though, we just don’t do that enough
Martinelli - Havertz - Dowman with eze behind would be my front 4 of choice today but i don’t hugely object to gyokeres starting in place of havertz
Havertz in a Bergkamp kind of role
Yes, only if Eze has done his work or feels any twinges from his recent injury. I'd actually like to see Havertz, Eze and Gyökeres on the pitch at the same time, with Dowman, but I doubt that'll happen.

Havertz in a Bergkamp kind of role
My nightmare scenario forward line-up for today is Trossard, Havertz, Ødegaard and Madueke. My nerves won't be able to take that. Just naming it here as a sort of exorcism!
not opposed to gyokeres continuing to start but we’ve got a big enough sample size of the havertz midfield experiment - how many good games have we seen from him there
Havertz behind Gyökeres has more than once proved decisive. He operates further forward and more direct than Ødegaard. I have had this discussion in other places too, I object to saying that position he operates in is "midfield". He does drop deep at times but nowhere near as much as Ødegaard. And he seems to link up well with Gyökeres, one of the few who seems to (I think Eze does as well and Martinellli). In fact, I'm still concerned about how Saka and Gyökeres link up but I'm hoping if Saka is back he'll have a bit more energy and pace about him than I saw before the latest injury. Saka at his best is still a handful for most defenders. Just fecking pass to your striker once in a while!
I'd like to see Eze and Gyökeres start today
Well classy classy.
Big win today, c'mon lads.
Definitely will too as I will be busy trying to get to the airport.
Would like to think that against a high line then Eze playing with Gyokeres would create some good chances
