"it's generally better to not repress them."
AAAAARRGGH! ARSENAL YOU FUCKING CUNTS!!!!

That was me postmatch haha. Now I'm back to my usual cool and collected self 🧘♂️
Why don't our cunts shoot more from outside the box?
I know it's clearly instructions from Arteta, but fucking hell.
That opportunity that we had before we scored 1st (I think) when Rice intercepted...
🤷
What are we supposedly best at? cornalties.
What happens more often than not when you take distance shots that don't go in but deflect off defenders? cornalties.
It doesn't seem like rocket science but here we are.

Am looking forward to a little perspective from Mr Mangan tomorrow morning. Have you lot read all the pieces put together on the Arseblog News..A lot more measured than you lot or the forum.
Mrs, at the end of the day it's football, there are more important problems in this world than a football team being almostsuccesful, not quite good enough to fulfill their potential and win some big competitions. That's always going to be the ultimate reality check.
Measured and reasonable enough to your liking? And yet two hours ago I had a couple replies removed here for going on unhinged tirades of mindless verbal abuse (sorry to those were exposed to it btw).
At the end of the day, we all know this football thing is not a "reasonable" passion to have. Maybe it gives some a reprieve from their everyday stuggle, maybe there's some vicarious validation because some identify so much with this club, maybe some get reminded of their painful personal failings when their team self-sabotages one more time.... there's many reasons people are this emotional about such an unimportant thing. But emotions are not a bad thing inherently, and it's generally better to not repress them.
I don't get how odegaard gets so many chances
Apparently Arteta is ruthless but it seems to be very selectively ruthless
I mean to be fair I can’t think of the last proper captain (I don’t count Auba) who has been yanked this many times. It does not help that Eze is not pulling up trees when given the chance.
It does feel as though the personnel may not be the issue, could be that the coaching staff and manager are letting the players down. I wonder if there are any real leaders in the squad who are willing to call it what it is and allow them some more freedom when it's required.
I could see Arteta dropping Haaland and Salah for not putting in enough defensive work.
Who does he play instead of Odegaard? Eze isn't looking any better. Havertz isn't fit, and Nwaneri just left.
Does it really matter when Arteta just wants us to score from shoving defenders around on corners and long throws?

Yet another thing they aren't allowed to do. Shoot from distance/edge of box.
The pass out wide from the edge of the box is infuriating, yet it's symptomatic of this team and its buck-passing.
Eze is the long shooter and it's sad to see what's happened to him Another sideways passing horseshoe of sadness merchant to join the collection.

Take the fucking shot, man! Look at their 2nd and 3rd goals... Outside the box!
Not seen Norgaard do anything wrong when he's played, even when it's been out of position in defence.
Just Arteta making a muddle of a perfectly decent player while others are carried. Weird.
Thank you for reminding me sp2. They had 10 men as well. Cunts.
I was at that cunt.

The four sub changes for the second game in a row was a concern. So many of our lads just look like they are phoning it in. Maybe they just don't believe thay can go all the way.

vieria even, he was criticizing the mentality and leadership after the game. he might inspire these slugs at the very least.

Give it wrighty end 't season
And Jesus Christ if I see zubimendi during the week, fucking hell.
The man seems to play every minute. Why the fuck didn't norgaard get some minutes against kairat
Yet another player frozen out who could contribute.

Didn't we lose to them at home in the FA Cup last season?

I cant imagine that fifa manager career mode quadruple substitution inspired much calm.
They were like for like as well 🤦
A manager that should've been more adventurous was conservative again.
Also, losing again to an interim-Carrick led team, FFS!
Fuck me reading odegaard post match interview, what a load of beige shite
Fucking step up man, Jesus Christ I want to give him a shake
He needs to be sat down for a few games, captain or not.
He was pathetic today.
It's mental. He actively gets in the way of our attackers. How many times has he got in the way of Gyok's headers?
It's overcomplicating pseudo wank. Imagine if it were the other way around, with the attackers interfering with the defence. Mental really.
With Own Goal not far behind.
Ha!
Sad times! This group of players are better than this.
This makes me realise how many International players we have in our team. Does MA just project anxiety onto the team?
I cant imagine that fifa manager career mode quadruple substitution inspired much calm.
Even when he comes on as a midfielder, he's instantly getting shots on target and winning headers, which are foreign concepts to everyone else.

it's really only a matter of time before the refs start cracking down on the set piece goalie crowding, then tets is really up shits creek.
We all loved the novelty of a DM becoming our main striker last season!
Bit fucking ridiculous that he's still the main man now still!
With Own Goal not far behind.
Cesc would not flourish in this team. It's all about OOP. Creativity is choked.
I agree, I just think he would say fuck it, and make those forward passes anyway. Too many of our attackers are scared to go outside the lines. Cesc would be brave and do it anyway.
Even Xhaka would do a job. I'd take him back tomorrow.
That's the regret isn't it? After he left there were games made for him and if had of done we'd have gotten over the line.

cesc would have gotten binned off early on, too much forward passing, not enough physicality.
setting the team up so jurrien fucking timber can get touches in the box is mind blowing shit
I don't get it!
Ode is a shadow of those players, both in terms of ability and captaincy.

He has two or three good games a season, and people think (or perhaps hope) that's the norm. It isn't, it's this Fay Casper the Ghost football that's the norm with him.

I hate to come here after a defeat like this, but I've been saying this for a long time: this Arsenal team under Arteta does not know how to attack. I don't buy into the psychological analysis of PL title race pressure and all of that. This team's identity is not based on attacking, free-flow, fluid football. They can hardly pass the ball forward. How can you get frustrated from the attack today, if this is always how we play? This is an upgraded version of Stoke. The only difference today is that we conceded 3 goals. But we scored 1 Own Goal and another 1 from set piece. A casual day for the Arsenal.
Do we play better in the Champion League? Yes. Admittedly I don't know why. But clearly we are struggling in the PL for some reason, and this has been the case for three consecutive seasons.
The occasional great performance can't mask over this. And our good performances are based on a high-intensity physical game. We never outperform teams in terms of creative play. We just don't.
We should be worried that Saka has not hit the next level, and has even regressed. We should be worried that Eze comes in and looks bereft of confidence. We should be worried that our recruitment in the attacking positions has been incredibly disappointing. We should be worried that since we let Zinny go, lacking that inverted full back who pulls the strings from the back, we look bereft of ideas. We should be worried that we rely so much on set pieces.
You can make the argument that with a more solid defensive performance, we score two goals and snatch a narrow win. Okay. But isn't this what we've been trying to do for the past 2.5 seasons? It remains to be seen if this will win us a title. In any event, it's boring as hell.
Can anyone imagine the manager substituting Adams, Vieira or Cesc off after 55 mins in consecutive Premier League games as Arsenal go for the title? Exactly.
Ode is a shadow of those players, both in terms of ability and captaincy.
What I would give to have Cesc in this team pinging passes forward.
I thought odegaard was back to himself after the Aston villa game
We know why we beat villa and that was all to do with them losing a player.

I'll be surprised if we can scrape a point away at Leeds if we play like this
Agreed, lose that and I think we may as well kiss it goodbye.

Very poor today. United showed us how to play a pacy attacking game. Arteta needs to sort this out, we have the players, they need to be let off the leash.

Nice one! I just shoveled a ton of snow in -10c bright winter sunshine, I thought it might help. It hasn't.
Played like a bunch of wankers against an incredibly shit team and got what we deserved.

We can all accept losing if the game is exciting and good football but to lose playing the turgid non-football we are producing this season is beyond the pale.
Yes we are still top but everyone around us is performing sub-par as was the case last season and that helped Liverpool win the league, albeit playing better football, but look at them now.
My fear is that if we do a Devon Loch our better players may well want out.
I will probably be a lot more level headed tomorrow but the manner of the defeat is frustrating.

How bad are we at counter attacks as well btw!?
It was just so bad.
Something flying under the radar I just remembered, since we're airing out our grievances. We have had a very weak performance against top teams this year. Draw and loss vs Pool, draw vs City, draw vs. Chelsea, a win and a loss against Villa and Manure. Only positives so far are Newcastle and Spurs, although their positions in the league make it a stretch to consider them "top" teams. In the past title races with Arteta, we've had the upperhand against most of the top dogs, this year we've been really disappointing. I dunno if a team with that record can go on to win the league.
Did we mis profile Eze? He is an anti control footballer. He doesn't contribute through a whole game. He provides moments, amazing moments but always on the periphery
Think we just need to get him ...
Is he absolutely mortified now to take a risk after the not tracking back against Villa?
Arteta had to have known that Eze was of the maverick variety. Also, Gyökeres and Madueke are very orthodox, transition-oriented players.

No I know you're right but...but why aren't we bringing on Nwaneri. I've...seen him play.
Sorry - of course we all have. And I get the loan but whatabout the here and now?
Sally we can't spend 65m on Eze and then loan the cunt out

I did see it. And feel Eze is more in need of loan minutes elsewhere personally. Don't think the other signings (barring the usually excellent Zubi) can be...salvaged.

Did you see his goal last night? Running through the centre of the pitch, beating a man then shooting? We don't do that here.

Can Ethan be recalled from the South of France?

How much pace has Saka lost compared to 2-3 seasons ago? Don't think we can have 2 "slow" forwards on either side of our striker. If one winger has to be a creator, the other winger needs to be excellent in 2 things at least " pace and goalscoring" to complement the striker.
Why were the pundits saying we looked anxious. I just thought we looked unengaged, I presumed we were very tired having had rather more games than most other teams recently
.
If we sign Sally fucking Gunnell then I'm walking away from football
HAHAHAHA
Nice one centurion, nice one ;)
I'm just here for your reaction.
The only thing that could top it would be Bobz reaction if we resigned Giroud.
Haha not seen bobz in years
Maybe watching Giroud be successful after Arsenal just broke him. He's now gibbering in a corner somewhere
A world where we sign Anthony Gordon has all the trappings of a world where Arteta still manages Arsenal after a sixth trophyless season.
If we sign Sally fucking Gunnell then I'm walking away from football

We are linked with Anthony Gordon for the summer... another forward who is simply not an exciting player at all but is willing run the hard yards....

I just saw a replay of the final Gyok chance. Was that him attempting to play a pass?
But is he a good dribbler? He has pace and a few tricks, but he kicks the ball ahead of him and chases after it. No touch, no finesse, just awful to watch. I think he's a total waste of money. I prefe...
Pretty sure he has some of the best dribbling stats in the league for an extended period now. I think the eye test shows this too.
We are linked with Anthony Gordon for the summer... another forward who is simply not an exciting player at all but is willing run the hard yards....
This manager loves hard-working but underwhelming attackers.
I don't think I trust him with signing forwards.
Leeds away will be another major test.
Fucking Spurs away terrifies me at this stage.
Over £150m wasted. That's enough to blow a league title. It's amazing we're still top, but I don't see how we improve. We look like we've got no more gears.
Leeds away will be another major test.
You'd wonder where forwards fall in the spectrum of quality in Arteta's mind. You'd almost think he views them as interchangeable.
That is a terrible statistic for Madueke. He is a very good dribbler and due to this he is willing to run at opposition defenders and get in the box but his final actions in the penalty area are poor ...
But is he a good dribbler? He has pace and a few tricks, but he kicks the ball ahead of him and chases after it. No touch, no finesse, just awful to watch. I think he's a total waste of money. I preferred Pepe and that's saying something.
I agree Manager or team psychologist has to find a way to ease the pressure. That Carling cup looks very critical now.
Ay. I reckon some of the control obsession would ease as well.

I don't want to see our attackers scared shitless of what zone they should be in, in which phase and which direction they should be facing when the ball is in the third percentile. Christ.

I’m in the US so have to deal with this for a whole day with a brother and Father who support Man U.
After last week’s 12:30 debacle as well. Not watching us for the next two weeks. Need my weekends back.

We get a manager who knows how to win, Arteta gets to go learn how to win
Anyway hopefully it's all moot and the players wake up.

Arteta will need to widen his frame of reference to do that, I think. Had years under Pep's tutelage... not a given he'll be a major success elsewhere.
Man I'd trust any dickhead to win the league with PSG

I just don’t know how we went from free scoring 2.5 years ago to this. Ode needs to be rested. Rice needs to be given the Captai’s hand band, and Arteta needs to stop over thinking things. Let Saka get closer to the box and let the full back provide width.

If Enrique were to become somehow attainable, there is no maybe!

This is what I see. A combination that of both. We have systemic problems yes, but there are also so many opportunities that we just don’t take advantage of. So many runs just ignored.

Not going to argue that Nwaneri could have had that role instead. For whatever reason
Arteta decided he’s not a winger and only a right 8 Odegaard understudy and I’m not convinced of that decision.
Yeah the signing looked unnecessary from the off. Anyway we still have the lead in the league and hopefully City and Villa remain more crap than we are.

We're four points clear, in all four competitions. And there's a very good chance we collapse now. The faces on Gabriel and the team after that Utd winner were of footballers whose souls had left them. Stunned they were. It may be that this changes them up and Arteta is motivated to make a deep change. But I don't see where they can do it. These attacking players don't have it in them. Our three new additions have all been poor and our captain and starboy having poor seasons. It's utterly hopeless.... and yet right now we're top. I just don't see how it lasts.
I think it's a mixture of both. If you asked me what the number one issue is I'd probably say first phase buildup in the center of the pitch. And I do think that is heavily influenced by Mikel's tacti...

Madueke no goals no assists in the league
Fucking hopeless. He's actually worse than what he was at chavs.
Madueke is a headless chicken. Runs like Fforest Gump playing college football but without the end product
£50m headless chicken. It's such a waste of money.
I have half a mind to have our first xi play in the CL game. Odegaard got rested against Inter so he could put this performance?
Yeah, at this point, that might be a good idea. Need to get some confidence back for quite a few players.
Madueke instead of Martinelli was definitely a bad call.
And at the moment, maybe Odegaard edges Eze, but both of them are looking poor.
Saka still dangerous, but teams have definitely figured out his cut back thing, and the other forwards are too often not making runs for crosses. Timber was where Jesus or Trossard should have been.

The only comfort I can take is we were beaten by a calamitous error and two magnificent strikes.
Anyway I just need to go somewhere quiet and try to forget the game
To go into 24/25 with five midfielders and a green Nwaneri was a fucking disgrace.
How it wasn't flagged far more frequently at the time confuses me.
And those glorious slalom dribbles through tightly packed defences. Hasn't got the knees for it anymore.
Yep

Those paper thins squads really did a number on some former starters.

Jesus' superpower was always his ability to bring the ball down against a CB and bring others into play. He lost that ability literally years ago.

We do play in a complicated way, with players roaming here and there. Manu went back to basics and beat us & city at home - they played with freedom
He got it wrong with Madueke. Period.
Madueke is a headless chicken. Runs like Fforest Gump playing college football but without the end product
Gyokeres did more in ten minutes than Jesus had in the rest of the time he had played
Jesus' superpower was always his ability to bring the ball down against a CB and bring others into play. He lost that ability literally years ago.
Then again barely anyone has thrived at CF under Arteta. He managed to stop Auba scoring FFS. Who even knows.
But his two goals got him hyped to the skies. He was nowhere today. A waste of a half. Not that Gyökeres was much better.
Gyokeres did more in ten minutes than Jesus had in the rest of the time he had played
He totally got it wrong with Madueke today as Saka was basically nonexistent on the left. Would have been better off with Martinelli. Not sure that is an experiment to ever revisit.

I ain't been on socials at all since Inter of here so I have no idea if that's true.
But yeah we've spent something like £170m on Jesus, Gyok and Havertz plus £200k+ wages on two of them.
The whole management of forwards has been a sham.
I don't wanna here about other clubs spending when we've been so inefficient in that space.
But then Eze is no different? And Sakas end product is miles off previous seasons.
Odegaard around 22-24 had some of the best creation stats in world football.

I think it's a mixture of both. If you asked me what the number one issue is I'd probably say first phase buildup in the center of the pitch. And I do think that is heavily influenced by Mikel's tactics. But that said- sometimes the pass is there to play on the turn and we do not take it.
Yeah that's fair. Hard to come back from what he's been through.
He looked totally ineffective today and I thought there was more effective physicality when Gyokores came on.
The Milan game gave Jesus more credit in the bank than he really deserved and I thought that showed today.
He’ll be gone this summer and we’ll have to spend serious money to step up
These are all Arteta's players, the fact that so many of the attack are not functioning, you have to look at what is dictating that, and that's the manager.
If it were just the odd attacker not playing well, you could maybe blame that individual. But there is an apparent collective malaise about our attack that has persisted for nearly the whole of Arteta's time here.
As a squad player, fine... but we probably overpaid at least 10m there.
He totally got it wrong with Madueke today as Saka was basically nonexistent on the left. Would have been better off with Martinelli. Not sure that is an experiment to ever revisit.
A £50m experiment!!!

If Chelsea manage to turn that tie around against us we are fucking dead.
I think it's best we consider this is as bad as it can be. I feel dead in terms of our chances. I don't even think it was choking. This team just doesn't have enough matchwinners to win the big stuff. We look like amateurs in big games. That Cunha goal just took the wind out of all our sails. It needn't have been like this, but better now. Anything from now is a bonus. I do feel like this is a very overrated team. Great defence, but someone like Zubimendi, for example, gets hyped to the skies by the influencers and by Arteta, but once again showing his physical deficiencies which cost us dearly.

There has been a huge shift towards 'control' and percentages. The set piece domination etc etc
It's not all a coincidence.
Unfortunately I don’t think Jesus at point is quick or strong enough to take advantage of that play
Yeah that's fair. Hard to come back from what he's been through.
Are you suggesting we have a squad full of players incapable of playing quickly and through the lines?
It's a mixture of both. There are some things tactically that Mikel does that I don't like. I do not like how he uses Timber in the final third.
Consider that pulling Odegaard this season has been fairly frequent. This indicates that he is obviously not happy with Odegaard taking a hundred touches inside only to lay it off to Gabriel.
If Arteta isn't instructing offensive players to be overly cautious, he certainly isn't fostering much fleet of thought or visualisation.
Are you suggesting we have a squad full of players incapable of playing quickly and through the lines?

Does Zubi make that pass playing for a different manager? Our players first thought is play it backwards, keep control. It's like an attack only happens when there is no option to play it safe. Comple...
Zubi has done that several times, not so much a fluffed pass but just not appreciating the hustle of the PL and that there are ALWAYS players closing you down and closing in on the 'keeper when you receive the ball away few metres outside of the box. Reminds me of what Özil said about the PL vs La Liga, in Spain you go 2 goals up as a big team and 90% of the opponents will go into damage control mode and try to hold you to max one more goal. In the PL, every team.keeps attacking, keeps running, and YOU need to keep running and never let up. Zubi has got to wake up to the everpresent danger of receiving the ball from your keeper in this league.

I think Arteta is a guys of percentages and margins like he has told many times - not someone who is going to go for it or take big risks. Even his subs are predictable, for example today I wish he had tried something like Gyok and Jesus up top and take a defender or midfielder off.
How many situations did we have that resembled the positions of Dorgu and Cunha in those first 30 mins, and how many did we actually threaten from. It feels like any goal opportunity for us is a roll of a dice, throw it in the mixer, hope that it jumbles in.
Are you suggesting we have a squad full of players incapable of playing quickly and through the lines?
You're arguing against scratched vinyl here.
I'm not giving up hope yet but this team wants to beat it out of me. If we don't beat Leeds and don't get through Chelsea we are done.
Well it isn’t over till the fat lady starts singing, but it just feels this weekend she’s started doing vocal exercises in the wings

Right maybe efficient is the wrong term, I meant that it works more often than not (top of league and CL and improved results vs. Emery and late Wenger. Shuts the critics up to a certain degree but can't fully convince

It's not fluid, it's not real attacking play. It's zonal pressure, it's squares and expectation of working it to the byline and percentages of players running in. We play attacking football like a set-piece. No imagination, no triangles, no confident passes to team-mates. All wait, was it, wait or run with the ball. expecting pace will be enough. Make no mistake, this is data-led football attack and quite frankly it's ugly to watch and more to the point ineffective. Attack needs imagination and there is no imagination here and tbh the quality of players is lacking too.
We need to win the Carabao Cup. This may act as a spark for instilling some self belief in ourselves
This might be the only way. And I hope he tells them, just go and put it all out there.
We have to get by Chelsea first.
Chavs, City and United frequently won the League Cup in their title winning seasons.
If Chelsea manage to turn that tie around against us we are fucking dead.
In fact it might be massive for where the title ends up
Maybe a cup match will suit them and they'll not play with such fear

It’s also the type of player. Players need to be courageous. I also cant imagine the manager saying “don’t make a direct pass”. I think the general safety first approach to defence means that players have internalised this and don’t take chances.
But when I watch the games, it’s the players not making the passes and runs they should.
When the stakes are high, Odegaard is hiding under his duvet. Still, I look forward to seeing how this can be pinned on Gyökeres and Madueke in the morning.
Great, masculine strikes by Cunha and Dorg...
I can easily pin it on many players. Madueke can't seem to run with the ball without it running away from him. Awful control. A very average, far too expensive player. Gyökeres was a little better but still nowhere good enough. And Eze, I've been kind because his arrival was exciting. But he's been so disappointing since the Spurs hat-trick. Another nondescript performance. No one in the attack did enough, barely any proper link up play, just running with the ball and waiting, waiting, waiting, for the Hollywood ball.
Yeah. A trophy would be lovely.

No, I think it's how Arteta sets them up. Caution, caution, caution.

Even watching All or Nothing none of the team talks were about being safe. Perhaps his methods some players to tense though I don't discount that.
Not sure how much longer we can retain the top spot in the League and CL by keeping playing like this. If we meet any decent team in the knockout games, even if it's Real Madrid, I don't see us winning.
Arteta could walk then and there as far as I'm concerned. If this club loses another semi-final...

If Arteta doesn't win the league he has to go, I don't see any other way. Another 2nd place finish and he'd be a fucking husk of a man anyway.

Just got back home from my bro's. We've all agreed the household is now a bad luck place to watch the matches, Gutted. Popped into the local Tesco's to get some biscuits for my tea. Felt like I was about to have a breakdown in the shop. Everything got noisy, everyone was getting on my nerves, was getting light-headed. One of my worst football nightmares come true, sucker-punched by United, even got a banter what's app message from my cousin in Milan.
Oh Arsenal, oh Arteta, why do you do this to us? you can't win the league playing percentage football. Tbh, the changes were brave, but the players who came on were just not up to it. And we're still four points clear. If ever there was a silver lining. But something drastic has to change in attack. We play as individuals, no interplay. What's happening?
Still need to calm down...

Not making excuses but the goals of the season highlight reel are going to be 90% goals against us. For some reason we have a knack of conceding these this season.
On the flip side a considerable percentage of the goals we are scoring are also set piece and own goals. In the second half especially, set piece looked like our only option.
In the first third of the game. When we were great, United founder pass the ball because we snapped into tackles and they lost the ball so much. They completed 0 passes in our third! Trossard and Jesu...
We were keeping a good level of the smothering but safe football that we usually do. But we were also missing out on many opportunities to make our advantage tell. I remember being frustrated until the goal came. A lot of what we do feels very weak but then forces you to begrudgingly accept it as efficient. Until it doesn't and people get mad at the perceived weakness

You know those moments where our cb has the ball, but every cm is marked and so the pass goes wide?
Just once I’d like a pass into those cms. Let them spin and see what they can do against their marker. We don’t even try theough the middle. And they just stand still, marked.
Amazing how that happens game after game after game.
I was watching the forest game and found myself urging them to pass quickly. I watched Villa today and the difference is night and day.
I don’t get the slow passing. It makes no sense to always wait. When we make runs, ode and co never pass. It’s so frustrating to watch.
Anyway rant over.

Bruno rarely makes a mindless pass. Always with intention. The thing I noticed today over and over is often he'd get the ball, backpass to Casemiro, he'd reset his position to collect the ball back almost immediately and then go forward with a pass.

I meant the general style of play, not that specific goal.
You can hate him but Bruno is the best attacking midielder in the league by some distance. He is always on the front foot.
The amount of touches between Odegaard and Trossard on the ball today was driving me insane.
Amazing how that happens game after game after game.
The lack of urgency in our play is rather concerning.

It could be because our defense usually is solid so it takes something special to beat it. But then again we do make some blunders like the Gabi back pass at Bournemouth or Zubimendi today.
Exactly, and that's on the manager. Safety first means the majority of passes will go sideways and backwards. And heaven forbid someone should take an awful risk of taking a shot.

We'd still win this league though. We thankfully are the best of a bad bunch.
City will still travel to Anfield and Stamford Bridge
That has been our hope. But we drew with 17th place forest!
Anyway, I think I’m expecting a catipulation so won’t be shocked or surprised.
I can’t believe we’re worse bottle jobs than Spurs.

Not throwing in the towel yet but if we don't respond after this it's hard to see a way back. Neither Odegaard or Eze are really stepping up. Jesus was terrible- just a false dawn player.
Well history points to capitulation. This is a bit early though. Maybe dropping to third might wake some of these boys up a bit.
We can’t cope with being in the lead. I know it’s tough but we need to find a way to manage. It’s always easier being the hunter than the hunted.
We can’t deal with the Tag of being favourites. I think Chelsea will now believe that if they come at us, we will crumble.
Does Zubi make that pass playing for a different manager? Our players first thought is play it backwards, keep control. It's like an attack only happens when there is no option to play it safe. Completely arse about face!
I had this bad feeling when we were inviting them to attack (even though we were 1 up), then Zubi fucks up and we go to pieces
We'd still win this league though. We thankfully are the best of a bad bunch.
City will still travel to Anfield and Stamford Bridge
Which will make this even more of a catastrophe if we don’t in.
I think we will throw it away.

Got you. I agree. They are not fighters and certainly can’t handle pressure.
Fergusons teams had immense pressure on them. And thrived. They dreaded letting AF down. Wenger built teams with incredible characters, fire and determination. They didn’t need motivating. Even Mourinho had Drogba with that killer drive.
I just don’t feel that looking at our players. They look too spoilt. Need a Suarez or two, savages raised on the streets who can take a game by the scruff and drive others forward.
Killer instinct.
I had started to believe though

I hoped for a change but can’t see it. It’s a real shame and as much as I want Arteta to win a trophy with us after all he’s done to turn us around. I think if we don’t win anything this year, questions need to be asked. ( I can’t believe I am saying this).
Maybe it’s the emotions talking.

Eze plays like he’s retired now he’s home.

2 pts from a possible 9 is fucking shit!

They're all very capable of producing high level matches but Arteta has them all tied up in strait jackets
Shity will smell blood now.
Yes and they will pounce. They have a defender now and another goal scorer.
It’s better to lose it now than in April. City might be top by the end of Feb.

and Arteta would be broken too
Our way to attack when we are under pressure is by whipping in 50+ crosses, rarely any buildup through the middle.
If this group finishes second again, they're fucking done. How do you recover from that as a footballer
It’s not pressure. They’ve been clear at the top of the table for months. It’s the opposite of pressure, it’s complacency. They are too comfortable and wrapped in cotton wool by MA.
I don’t know what you mean by this and how they are wrapped in cotton wool.
This team could not respond to draws and losses by the challengers. That’s a clear sign of a team that cannot handle pressure.
They are not
complacent.it is passivity and control football without urgency. We have been playing exactly like this from the beginning of the season. It has nothing to do with having a lead.
Sorry to continue my ranting, but why the fuck did Madueke come on before Martinelli?
Our gaffer really is son of Moyes with a pinch of Pep. He took nothing from the old man.
He has basically learned from the time he was with the old man that we cannot afford to be open at the back and get slaughtered with regular 3-0+ thrashings against big clubs and he has also learned not to ignore set pieces.
Shity will smell blood now.
Ugh. We’ve wasted three seasons. Four seasons in second after being favourites would really be too much
Totally out fought today. We never showed our quality or wasnt allowed to.
didnt put them under pressure like they did us.
Totally deserved the result.
Maybe this is a timely kick up the ass we need.
Those were two very well struck goals from Manure to be fair. What I would give for our players to attack through the middle and blast in shots like that

Mikel should make the players go out and do a typical day job tomorrow. The can listen to talksport and get shit from their coworkers like we do. Let Zubi get the piss taken out of him all shift. I guarantee he wouldn’t give the ball away cheaply again.
A dose of the real world
Anyone listening to the post match stuff from the gaffer?
What's he got to say this time?
Its insane. No one was asking for Saliba to get more assists.
What we DONT want is a CB attempting a cute cutback from the byline to a LB in front of goal. Is Arteta trying to get an achievement?
It’s overthinking. Trying to be too clever for the opposing team.
We are too focused on not making mistakes at the back.
Saliba has folded a bit under pressure but our winning strategy cannot be faultless defence. It is putting too much pressure on the backline to be perfect and not enough on creativity.
We need a shift.
Rice playing so deep in the last few mins didn’t make sense, get him in the middle so he can have a shot.
Rice has all the attributes to be a Gerrard type but unfortunately the straight jacket football we play restricts him.

Said this multiple times. How are we working on patterns to get Timber and Saliba into dangerous positions but can't do the same for Saka?
Having the attackers do the attacking? How old-fashioned.
My honest opinion why our defenders are bad at throw inns or take too long are because none of our other outfield players are brave enough to come and ask for the ball to be thrown at them as they fear they may lose it
I was thinking can we throw Kanu and Wiltord on?
Sigh. Too much ranting from me.
It’s not overconfidence. It’s exactly like being caught like a deer in headlights.
They can’t handle the pressure. They need to be told to forget the title. Just for the next 3 months.. play each Ma...
It’s not pressure. They’ve been clear at the top of the table for months. It’s the opposite of pressure, it’s complacency. They are too comfortable and wrapped in cotton wool by MA.
Nothing is a given! I’d say by the way we’ve played this season we haven’t done enough.
Somethings are a given. Unfortunately.
Rice playing so deep in the last few mins didn’t make sense, get him in the middle so he can have a shot.
Also I hate these like for like subs by Arteta. He really is more Moyes than Wenger. Wenger used to throw all the attackers on if we were losing.
I was thinking can we throw Kanu and Wiltord on?
I could murder white sometimes
MLS and Timber are just as bad TBH
And the throws are still fucking terrible.

Its insane. No one was asking for Saliba to get more assists.
What we DONT want is a CB attempting a cute cutback from the byline to a LB in front of goal. Is Arteta trying to get an achievement?
Bested by Caretaker Carrick.
Not for the first time either
Overconfidence is the exact opposite of what this team are. Not one of them is oozing confidence. All the money spent on players and we are still relying on goals from set pieces, own goals or scrappy...

They can’t handle the pressure. They need to be told to forget the title. Just for the next 3 months.. play each Match like any other.
This team has never showed up when it was tough. We always buckle. Our hope this year was that everyone would be worse. That’s why we’re top.
We can't create goals and I get to read news about how we have roped in ***wait for it*** an expert coach on "throw ins"
And the throws are still fucking terrible.
We can't create goals and I get to read news about how we have roped in ***wait for it*** an expert coach on "throw ins"
Those were two very well struck goals from Manure to be fair. What I would give for our players to attack through the middle and blast in shots like that
Fantastic strikes .. but defensive mistakes for their first and the third
Those were two very well struck goals from Manure to be fair. What I would give for our players to attack through the middle and blast in shots like that
Oh come on man, pass it out wide run down the line and pass it backwards.
Odegaard would be excellent at CL level because of the amount of space he gets but he is struggling now

Does Arteta realise that other teams have big data as well?
Can tell guy is obsessed to his detriment.
When the stakes are high, Odegaard is hiding under his duvet. Still, I look forward to seeing how this can be pinned on Gyökeres and Madueke in the morning.
Great, masculine strikes by Cunha and Dorgu, been too long since one of ours pulled one of those out in a desperate stakes moment in the league.
Squeaky bum time!
Finishing a distance fourth and playing some fun stuff on the whole or finishing second playing some absolute grindball? Not much difference tbh.
I think we really underplay how dull we are.
That second half was unbelievable, we had no idea how to create a chance. Pass to Saka and Madueke and hope something happens
Odegaard would be excellent at CL level because of the amount of space he gets but he is struggling now
We got lucky with our 1st goal so not complaining but realistically what was Timber even doin...
We had Xhaka pulling the strings
Overconfidence is the exact opposite of what this team are. Not one of them is oozing confidence. All the money spent on players and we are still relying on goals from set pieces, own goals or scrappy...
This is true. Barring Saka, nobody seems interested to take the on the opposition players
I don’t like this current formation or system. I don’t know about Rice and Zubi together with Ode above. None of them are contributing the way they should do, and it’s a huge waste of Rice.
We used to mock Mourinho and Chelsea as a fan base for their approach to football. This is worse.
I don’t think this defeat is a catastrophe because City and Villa are not great, but we definitely are doing everything to keep this interesting.
No, not a catastrophe. We have just sent a message to the chasing pack that we're not as good as they thought. Being out played by every team which are challenging is a f*cking joke, home and away. Big squad? Who cares, apparently none of them are good enough to beat a team considered a joke weeks ago and have a manger after a couple of weeks that can use a team better than a manager who's been there years... Not catastrophic but very embarrassing and worrying.😔
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Ode is simply not cut out for this level. Mid-table and battling for the top four, he’s perfectly serviceable, but he can not cope at this high octane level...
Odegaard would be excellent at CL level because of the amount of space he gets but he is struggling now
We got lucky with our 1st goal so not complaining but realistically what was Timber even doing there compared to our other attackers?
Another brain fart from Zubimendi and surprisingly Saliba today
when I look at the football we played in 2022-2023, we used to play with some much rhythm.
I didn't even see that KH14. I see fear, like a deer in the headlights.
Overconfidence is the exact opposite of what this team are. Not one of them is oozing confidence. All the money spent on players and we are still relying on goals from set pieces, own goals or scrappy tap ins. It's boring, attritional and quite honestly cowardly football.
Jenkins, fetch me my bathing toaster.
Heh, kinda
This is the reality. Unless you were blinded by hope, you knew this was how we were going to play. It’s like watching Zverev trying to win a slam title.
We never respond to opportunity or adversity....
Said the other day that watching Arteta's Arsenal is like watching Djokovic without a killer shot.
Constantly playing the percentages and leaving yourself open if your opponent catches fire.
Jenkins, fetch me my bathing toaster.
Got a spare?
Finishing a distance fourth and playing some fun stuff on the whole or finishing second playing some absolute grindball? Not much difference tbh.
I think we really underplay how dull we are.
Jenkins, fetch me my bathing toaster.
Ouch
This is on the manager.
Key players like Odegaard and Zubimendi are not playing well... Trossard blows hot and cold
Gabi Jesus can't be relied on to carry the attack.. the less said about Gyokeres the better... Saka getting rinsed every game including meaningless games like the one against Inter midweek... Absolutely no need for him to play almost the entire 90 mins vs Inter
That was precisely the kind of performance many of us feared and some even expected.
Too many games like this to be an occasional occurrence.
This is the reality. Unless you were blinded by hope, you knew this was how we were going to play. It’s like watching Zverev trying to win a slam title.

Haha
I didn't even see that KH14. I see fear, like a deer in the headlights.
The 1st goal was a direct result of that. What were we trying to achieve with those unnecessary flicks at the back? We definitely wouldn't try it against a Bayern or Liverpool attack. We took them for granted and mistakes took over
Jenkins, fetch me my bathing toaster.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Ode is simply not cut out for this level. Mid-table and battling for the top four, he’s perfectly serviceable, but he can not cope at this high octane level of performance and, crucially, expectation. I’m more than ready to move on from him in the summer.
As for the manager. What the actual fuck does he do with our attackers in training? He’s drained them of all confidence, self-belief, and ability. These are his players, and for whatever reason, the manager seems pathologically incapable of building a functioning and fluid attack.
We have defenders playing up front and attackers putting in monumental defensive shifts. How about you stop trying to reinvent the football wheel and have the attackers attack and the defenders defend? There’s a reason it has worked that way for so long.
We’ve not scored a goal in the PL for three games in a row now, and the fact that Own Goal is such a significant contributor to our goals is laughable.
But really, I’m just thoroughly sick and tired of seeing these attacks under Arteta routinely fail. I can see a new manager simplifying things and allowing the attackers to attack with some freedom. This is like prison football.
Yeah we definitely panicked after we scored.
There is just little or no urgency until it is after we concede.
They bought PL quality from better teams - Mbeumo and Cunha are proven goal scorers in PL and with a better manager could have been in a better position. As an arsenal supporter the greatest disaster ...
My guy, you out Cunha and Mbuemo in this team and they sure as fuck ain't running through the centre of the pitch with the ball.
I don’t think Arteta is going to suddenly change now. We are going to win it the ugly way.
Hope you're right about winning, we know how easy the wheels fall off of our pram 😂
That was precisely the kind of performance many of us feared and some even expected.
Too many games like this to be an occasional occurrence.
I do love a bit of circumspect honesty.
I didn't even see that KH14. I see fear, like a deer in the headlights.
Yeah we definitely panicked after we scored.
The club has never signed a manager with a history of winning big important things! When have we?
Maybe it's time.
That was precisely the kind of performance many of us feared and some even expected.
Too many games like this to be an occasional occurrence.
Exactly. We lost due to over confidence
I didn't even see that KH14. I see fear, like a deer in the headlights.
The better team (they wanted it more) won.
They bought PL quality from better teams - Mbeumo and Cunha are proven goal scorers in PL and with a better manager could have been in a better position. As an arsenal supporter the greatest disaster to happen is Amorim leaving.
Let's face it we have been getting lucky lately with own goals and goals from corners pulling more weight and this had to happen eventually.

I don’t think Arteta is going to suddenly change now. We are going to win it the ugly way.
To be as gutted as we all are and still four points clear is one morsel of hope that I’ll take. But this wasn’t unexpected.
I say again, great manager Arteta for all he’s done to get us back competing. But there is a massive blind spot in terms of how we attack. Madueke, what a limited player. But really, so many Arteta weaknesses, Øde, Zubi, and no cohesion.
Absolutely floored.
I never saw control. I saw passiveness.
Exactly. We lost due to over confidence
Let's face it we have been getting lucky lately with own goals and goals from corners pulling more weight and this had to happen eventually.
How we respond is vital, no more passive passing get some directness in the game. Liverpool under Klopp and even last season were exciting to watch, we on the other hand are dull as ditch water and look to have no plan B when things need a gear change.
Crazy man we had full control of this game until that gift and then crumbled
Control is the issue fella. This team has the creative subtly of a sledgehammer
We've clowned these guys for about a decade and managed two FA Cups (one over 5 years ago) in the interim.
Crazy man we had full control of this game until that gift and then crumbled
I never saw control. I saw passiveness.
Honestly if we chuck this league away I don't think I can watch next season.
I don’t think this defeat is a catastrophe because City and Villa are not great, but we definitely are doing everything to keep this interesting.
Nothing is a given! I’d say by the way we’ve played this season we haven’t done enough.
It's too stressful honestly. Making my life worse
Crazy man we had full control of this game until that gift and then crumbled
A little tired of people worshipping him because it gives them cool points and makes them look judicious.

Playing like a really expensively assembled Stoke when you lose ain't much fun.
A little tired of people worshipping him because it gives them cool points and makes them look judicious.
This club has earned the right to pursue a manager with a record of winning big things... or trophies in general.
Nah thats it. Im not watching them celebrate. The fans will be bad enough this week
Yeah switched off as well. Stuck in -15 weather with about a feet of snow. Thanks Arsenal for the cheer this weekend.
Arteta has a lot to answer for today. Zubi and Odegaard not far behind. What a shit show
We deserved to lose.
Gutless performance
Indeed. Arteta thinks he can slide rule his way to a title. Great goals from them but our attack was ugly, no one touch, no patterns. That third goal took our souls.
Arteta is too stubborn and too rigid. Something's gotta give
I’ll say it again, instead of Heinze I wish we had god an attacking coach in. Thats clearly the issue and has been for years now
Arteta is too stubborn and too rigid. Something's gotta give
That twat Neville is going to be full of it
He’s been quite level about the game
Honestly if we chuck this league away I don't think I can watch next season.
we will
Well deserved loss. Good job team
Playing like a really expensively assembled Stoke when you lose ain't much fun.
Saka on the left clearly absolute waste
Just a luxury Tottenham since '06.
Honestly if we chuck this league away I don't think I can watch next season.
We deserved to lose.
Gutless performance
More careless than gutless
That twat Neville is going to be full of it
They took our hearts.
This is on Arteta.
Choked again.
we can get a new manager bounce in the summer
I don’t know. I think they’re insulated too much. Stress brings out some steel and we don’t have any
Yeah.. same thing. When the chips are down.. we just don’t do anything. Oh well.
I’ll be glad for all that title talk to stop now..
We deserved to lose.
Gutless performance
They took our hearts.
This is on Arteta.
Choked again.
Truly embarrassing but not altogether surprising.
Dinner time if I can stomach food
Done reply to him. He’s a troll that only comes here when we’re losing.
i am here every game you cunt
I know he's a squad player but...
Nah thats it. Im not watching them celebrate. The fans will be bad enough this week
We're all used to losing. All fans can stomach defeat but to be so mind numbingly boring into the deal is what sends me over the edge. The football is so cowardly and lacking in fun.
Yep
Madueke, brings chaos.
Since when did we fixate on discrete attributes like this and vaunt them as incredible.
Brings chaos because he's brainless. You could clock him and he'd reverberate like a Tibetan singing bowl.
Why have we given away so many fouls in injury time? So easy not to play into this
Can't watch these cunts celebrate. Switched off
1 minute to go
Ref deliberately not watching Magyar foul gab
Can't watch these cunts celebrate. Switched off
Done reply to him. He’s a troll that only comes here when we’re losing.
To go ahead and lose this game is just bad.
This team can’t deal with pressure and no one can win anything without dealing with pressure.

Nice possession from us to protect the lead
To go ahead and lose this game is just bad.
This team can’t deal with pressure and no one can win anything without dealing with pressure.
dont be negative lol
All to predictable, need to launch a long ball now and then.
Nah, Arteta won't allow such. We dare not lose "control"
Our problem is that we don't play like wannabe champions, so insecure when things start getting to the business end of the season
We look done with this game
To go ahead and lose this game is just bad.
This team can’t deal with pressure and no one can win anything without dealing with pressure.
Time to stop listening to Mikel and jus do what you think should be done
This.
He can't punish all eleven of them can he?
Time to stop listening to Mikel and jus do what you think should be done
Always losing the 2nd balls. How do you build any momentum
All to predictable, need to launch a long ball now and then.
too
Played with clogs on for half the match, go behind then suddenly we rediscover urgency
All to predictable, need to launch a long ball now and then.
Disgusting. Ah well better to wake up now than in April
Yes.. enough of this title talk nonsense. I’m sick of it.
The troll is troll but the purchasing up top under Arteta has been terrible. Has a club wasted more money on dross than us on forwards since Arteta joined?
160 odd mil on Jesus, Kai and Gyokeres
We look done with this game
I think our lads have got complacent.
Played with clogs on for half the match, go behind then suddenly we rediscover urgency
Eze makes me wish Odegaard was playing
hes hopeless as well
Madueke is really average though.
you think he is a good buy lol
Eze makes me wish Odegaard was playing
well when you buy shite like madueke you deserve all you get
Come off it
First time we've conceded 3 in like 110 games or something
well when you buy shite like madueke you deserve all you get
Whoa whoa
Would Luis Enrique come here? Because I'm not sure who else would we eligible to try to take the next step in terms of winning things.
This isn't death knell but it's mighty familiar.
well when you buy shite like madueke you deserve all you get
Haven't conceded 3 goals in 2 years then yanited ruck up. You couldn't make it up
To a very poor Manure at that
Would Luis Enrique come here? Because I'm not sure who else would we eligible to try to take the next step in terms of winning things.
This isn't death knell but it's mighty familiar.
Let’s play pass the ball between Gabriel and Saliba
i cant believe you are being all negative lol
It has to be by instruction
Starting to look that way.
Haven't conceded 3 goals in 2 years then yanited ruck up. You couldn't make it up
You just know if that was one of our players they would have been looking to pass it back or sideways
It has to be by instruction
You just know if that was one of our players they would have been looking to pass it back or sideways
This
You just know if that was one of our players they would have been looking to pass it back or sideways
You know, it's a great goal but also shows what total folly Arsenal never attacking through the centre is.
I miss when we scored goals like that. We had mavericks like Henry and Alexis who had the freedom and belief to do it.
Oh fuck. How do you defend against those
Our lads have no practice defending those cos we never try it ourselves…
Fuck
Relief to despair so quickly
Disgusting. Ah well better to wake up now than in April
We are the real bottle jobs
Oh fuck. How do you defend against those
Yeah. Would still agree if we drew.
Their fans will love that.
You know what, sometimes you have to acknowledge a great goal.
That's what quality gives you.
Oh my god Madueke... I think I need Jesus.
Gervinho 2.0
Oh my god Madueke... I think I need Jesus.
Wow
I thought that was Saka for a minute.
Oh my god Madueke... I think I need Jesus.
There should be a stack or injury time to kick them in the twat
Now we sit back and invite pressure
Waiting for var to find something
Nope
Goal line tech
Refs watch buzzed
Last time I remember drawing 2-2 with these cunts at home was 07/08.
Waiting for var to find something
Nope
Just don't concede please
Im gonna say it’s 2-2 because we’ve used our luck
We score some proper shit goals
Nice! Merino showing who's the striker. Now do it again
Safety net from complete ignominy. Can we find the winner?
Now go and FUCKING WIN!!!
It’s in! Merino! Inevitable!!!!
I'll dish out 'shit comments' when it's deserved.
This is nowhere near good enough for such a key match.
…just”One of those days!”
ALL our rivals have had days like this recently…
(no need to panic or dish out sh** comments…just a bad day at the office.)
It’s been coming. We haven’t scored enough goal this season and our general performances havent been brilliant
Better.
Made the keeper work
…just”One of those days!”
ALL our rivals have had days like this recently…
(no need to panic or dish out sh** comments…just a bad day at the office.)
Most of them have also seen success in some form or fashion over the last 5 years.
Our entire strategy is give the ball to the wide players and hope for the best.
It’s just ”One of those days!” guys and gals…(the unlucky bounce of the ball….unlucky ricochets etc.)
make peace with a loss….and we’ll go again next match!

Yep. United haven't been especially scintillating.
Zubi cost us 2 goals and we offered nothing going forward
This isn't even down to Manure new manager bounce, we played like dogshit
No, they are a terrible team playing very assuredly. We are shit but they have been much better than usual
Sesko on to rub the salt in
Odegaard needs to watch the assist by Bruno. That's proper playmaking
This isn't even down to Manure new manager bounce, we played like dogshit
Like you said we just choked
This isn't even down to Manure new manager bounce, we played like dogshit
Yep. United haven't been especially scintillating.
Fuck me those three look like Lord of the Rings extras
😂😂😂
This isn't even down to Manure new manager bounce, we played like dogshit
Fuck me those three look like Lord of the Rings extras
Can Eze score two world class goals please?
Also, while I rate him overall, imagine losing the league to Emery's Villa. The ultimate concession to bottledom.
This is unbelievable, I don’t think their goal keeper had to make a save this half
He has a brilliantly direct approach
...and a brilliantly absent frontal cortex.
Unbelievable to throw this away. United have some fucking voodoo on us still
He has a brilliantly direct approach
Direct to out of play
I'll repeat.....
I HATE LOSING TO THESE CUNTS
Have we created a single chance this half
no
Have we created a single chance this half
Already Noni charging at them
He has a brilliantly direct approach
Again you got Saka on the touchline and Timber in the box
He can hook whoever he likes; his expensively kitted out progeny ultimately.
Shit passer though
Wonderful stuff Ma Dukes.
Gyokores has done more to cause trouble in a few minutes than Jesus did before
This manager is a hindrance to our attacking play in these situations. They are so structured that they do not have a clue how to think for themselves when the system doesn't work.

of course
This is on Arteta now. Get Saliba off and put Madueke on

There’s no instinct, no unpredictability. That’s what you get when the manger micromanages every pass
Why always make like for like sub
annoying
Why always make like for like sub
This manager is a hindrance to our attacking play in these situations. They are so structured that they do not have a clue how to think for themselves when the system doesn't work.
What a choke this will be if we lose. We would be deserving of every bottle job jibe we get
Martinelli for a defender
We had Baku, we had Wembley '11, we had Villa in '24... shall I go on?
We sure have a lot of one of those days when success is in the balance.
It’s called grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory
We sure have a lot of one of those days when success is in the balance.
How is that even allowed?
Lol...the only team to seem like scoring is not us
'It's just one of those days'
Fucking hell lol
we have been fucking woeful
These guys need a big does of wake the fuck up. You have to earn the right to win this league
Tiernery from Manchester on VAR
Of course it is
It’s just ”One of those days!” guys and gals…(the unlucky bounce of the ball….unlucky ricochets etc.)
make peace with a loss….and we’ll go again next match!
The problem is, it’s just turning into let’s go again next season every season
I said that it is handball!
I'd like to see this team really earn it, though.
Tiernery from Manchester on VAR
Direct through the middle again. Isn't that cheating?
Dismissed very quickly but we really ought not fixate on the officiating when the bigger picture is the dodgy performance.
Have seen them given

No pen. Like the Odegaard non-pen
But he saved it? With his hand…
VAR what the fuck are you doing?
I kind of think that's handball.
We don't seem like scoring
Hate to say it but I agree
25 mins in and zero chances.
just not looking like it is happening today
Nope
We don't seem like scoring
How has Martinez not picked up a yellow
just not looking like it is happening today
Martinez likes hitting people doesn’t he?
Finally we’ve realised we should put our massive striker on their tiny CB
Mikel cant ask for any more from this crowd today
Saka is the only one showing intent
He's having to go 1 v 2 every time.
After all of Chavs and City's ill gotten success, we're still the third most successful club in the country.
Would be nice to a bit more self-assurance and confidence in the big moments.
zero european cups so we aint
Maybe on the other side for Tross?
That might work
Maybe on the other side for Tross?
Saka is the only one showing intent
After all of Chavs and City's ill gotten success, we're still the third most successful club in the country.
Would be nice to a bit more self-assurance and confidence in the big moments.
Finally Tross goes around his man.
Eze has lost the ball three times since coming on
I HATE LOSING TO THESE CUNTS
I hate Arsenal constantly losing when it matters.
I HATE LOSING TO THESE CUNTS
You can sense Rice frustration, if he was to up sticks we'd be fu**ed.
The fuck was that from Eze
Ref may as well not be there
Cornalty looks our only possible option
Our best forward playing closer to the corner flag than the goal.
Come on lads, their back line is a fat bloke, a midget and an ancient Easter island head. They still play 3 at the back? There might be someone else. Either way, we should be absolutely rinsing them
This ain't happening. Different players, same crippling structure. Zero imagination.
The Arsenal bottling company loading...
Take up his invitation and go round there
haha
No pace to any attack. We might win a fk if we every actually take anyone on
Hincapie was so poor today. Aside from that cross
I don’t know why he started.
And it will again unfortunately
arteta will win fuck all
Hincapie was so poor today. Aside from that cross
The old boy next door is a united fan and was banging on the wall shouting choke choke choke.
He's in his 80's 😂
Take up his invitation and go round there
We're just not very good at coming from behind, as it were
Eze better than Ode was already
Hopefully we don't get Ezegaard
This passive domination shit needs to die
Heh!
But it gets us regularly to 2nd place
And it will again unfortunately
Eze better than Ode was already
This passive domination shit needs to die
But it gets us regularly to 2nd place
Maybe he's really choking on his Werther's
Hope not. he's a lovely old fella
This passive domination shit needs to die
Well the first 25 minutes we were dominant
How many chances did we create?
Well the first 25 minutes we were dominant
Did we force a save?
The old boy next door is a united fan and was banging on the wall shouting choke choke choke.
He's in his 80's 😂
Hope he doesn't have a fall

Make this corner count ffs
Call an ambulance
Make this corner count ffs
It's our best chance MG
Shame that was not the intent in the first half.
Well the first 25 minutes we were dominant
Make this corner count ffs
The old boy next door is a united fan and was banging on the wall shouting choke choke choke.
He's in his 80's 😂
This team has to show up now or never.
Up until this point, we have choked and passed up every opportunity to push on.
We as a fan base should not be annoyed at anyone calling us bottlers because that’s what we’ve done up until now.
We win the league to prove them wrong. Otherwise we shut up.
I hope we find something because we just haven’t shown it the last 3 matches and last couple of years.
That's a throw of the dice.
And a statement to take the game by the scruff of the neck
Shame that was not the intent in the first half.
That's a throw of the dice.
And a statement to take the game by the scruff of the neck
Will anyone feed him the ball?
That's the £60mil question
We have a largely fully fit squad right now.
If we fuck up the title, fans are going to have to front up to some uncomfortable realities.
This team are going to break my heart
There have been some meek performances today, none more so than the captain. I'm not sure any player in this team is in form. Even Rice levels have not been where they were.
Come on. There is still a lot of time
Complete abdication of responsibility. Has been like this for a longgggggg time.
Having made all these changes, watch our injury luck rear it's head
Star striker is finally on
Eketike?
Star striker is finally on
Will anyone feed him the ball?
Odegaard should never start for this club again.
Bit harsh
There were times when he dragged us through games... but he's used up a lot of credit over the last season and a half.
Star striker is finally on
Merino?
Star striker is finally on
Odegaard should never start for this club again.
Jesus was terrible. Captain is off. Says it all.
I think he should be benched for the league games
Pleased Arteta realised Ode was shite tonight. And Zubi
Now we decide to go forward. So bloody annoying. 55 mins of shite.
Always reactive never proactive
Now we decide to go forward. So bloody annoying. 55 mins of shite.
I think Zubi and Timber are just knackered
Arteta to him "Score a goal"
Play football
Arteta to him "Score a goal"
I wish he didn’t give any instructions
Good. Timber has been shaky
Arteta to him "Score a goal"
C'mon boys, I hater losing to these cunts
The Odegaard to your Saka
She can sense im annoyed
Think Hincapie is wearing his sisters shoes today
The Odegaard to your Saka
Let's face it.. we've been playing shit for quite sometime now.
Dorgu running us ragged... I've seen it all now
We will sub players but play like for like instead of changing things up
Dorgu ripping through us like Epstein's diary
Loool
Dorgu ripping through us like Epstein's diary
Trossard has been struggling, need to make some subs
He has to make changes now. Show some bollocks
How can we be top of 2 leagues?
Zubimendi’s weakness as a DM showing
Ode falls over a blade of grass
What was that
I wouldn't have been happy if it was given against us
Ode falls over a blade of grass
Our playmaker falls over the bakl
This team can get roasted if we lose this. I don't care.
Too many seasons of this bollocks.
One of Arteta's linchpin signings doing anti-Arteta things.
Through the middle. Will never catch on.
lol 😂
Through the middle. Will never catch on.
used his arm to guide it?
No
used his arm to guide it?
It was coming.
Quick passing and movement, what devilry is this?
We are not going to win the title playing like this
United are playing with calm and confidence. We look like we’ve been caught stealing
Was actually half glad to see some watchable football.
I dare them to lose this game
You must be min ahead of me
WTF does Arteta say to them?
So.... explain to me how we shirk the 'bottlers' epithet if we fuck this up!
Hincapie is not having a great game
Great football from them.
Hincapie with a shit clearance.
The life of a centre forward under Arteta
Heh
The life of a centre forward under Arteta
Until this team dispenses with its affinity to make domestic games farcically right, this season is going to be an emotionally enervating trudge.
It's only slightly halfway through the season but I feel like I've aged a decade in that time
Until this team dispenses with its affinity to make domestic games farcically right, this season is going to be an emotionally enervating trudge.
One positive is United are bad. They've done nothing of their own accord. All their openings have been unforced errors. But it won't mean much if we don't stop shitting all up ourselves.
They are as dangerous as us from set pieces
If we don’t turn the screw now, then the “bottler” tag will raise its ugly head again.
Right…
It will be difficult to rebuff
Btw big Gabi needs to sort out his shit connection to the ball on free headers inside the box lately. He's been either taking it on his shoulder, his lips, ear, his hair implants...need the Gabi of old back
Ah so you’re here today but not around for the Milan game
Not around until they scored.
If we don’t turn the screw now, then the “bottler” tag will raise its ugly head again.
Right…
the art of looking busy and doing fuck all is our number 8
Ah so you’re here today but not around for the Milan game
Mik clearly spends a lot of time creating patterns that allow Timber, Saliba or Calafiori to turn up in dangerous positions. Should try this with his forwards.
That's pretty revolutionary
He's done it last 2 PL games no?
on the 60th
Even the arses are bottling it
that won't happen unless we are losing
He's done it last 2 PL games no?
We need to score early before Cunha comes in. I fear they'll capitalise on our desperation if scores remain the same. Need more bite
Another bottle job? Getting embarrassing!😔
Our closest challengers for the title are a very average C115eh team and Aston Villa. We should be walking to the title but it's the Arsenal way to keep us all as anxious as fuck!!
If anyone will be hooked at HT I think it'll be Jesus for Vik. He's had a classic game of taking a brilliant 1st touch then fucking it all up under little to no pressure.
I’d be fine with that too.
That’s the spirit. Now if we can just hurry up and get to the 4-1 lead in the first five minutes, will be greatly appreciated.
Then you can all get back to love making
Not going to lie, I feel stressed. We are playing levels below our capacity, what worries me is the utterly inept and self destructive performance we have seen so far.
It really is incomprehensible. We really can't afford to drop more points.
That’s the spirit. Now if we can just hurry up and get to the 4-1 lead in the first five minutes, will be greatly appreciated.

Basically when he’s drifting inside- if he hs no diagonal runners into the box (which there never are) the only pass available is a horseshoe pass
He does try the curling pass to Trossard but he delays it. Rarely looks to play Jesus in.
Embarrassing if he keeps coming of at 50-60 mins
It will become news if it happens. Wish Arteta would do it at HT
I've long believed he should have been moved to LCM a long time ago. Two left footers in him and Saka on the same side just removes so many angles of attack.
Basically when he’s drifting inside- if he hs no diagonal runners into the box (which there never are) the only pass available is a horseshoe pass
Needs to change it up at HT, not wait for 60 mins.
Embarrassing if he keeps coming of at 50-60 mins
that won't happen unless we are losing
Maybe we should bring a right footer to the right wing instead? Saka and Tross switching sides, or Martinelli going to the right and Saka LW.
Even the dog is looking upset, normally shes snoring next to me
I think it rests on how soon if at all Arteta can sub the skipper for Eze.
Embarrassing if he keeps coming of at 50-60 mins
Yeah but what I mean is he cuts off half his ability to create danger by always drifting to the inside with left foot touches

Fair.

This is deeper more than one-footedness, which is a patently more diplomatic, safe form of criticism.
It's borderline abrogation of duty from guy at times. Make yourself open and influence the game.
...
Yeah but what I mean is he cuts off half his ability to create danger by always drifting to the inside with left foot touches
You're a miserable fuck but kind of correct in this instance.
I appreciate your feedback mr pirouette will as well
One positive is United are bad. They've done nothing of their own accord. All their openings have been unforced errors. But it won't mean much if we don't stop shitting all up ourselves.
This. We have the beating of them. Need more flow and aggression.
the art of looking busy and doing fuck all is our number 8
You're a miserable fuck but kind of correct in this instance.
We played a bit more positive
Go out a win now. This United team showing nothing. We are our own worst enemy.
the art of looking busy and doing fuck all is our number 8
I want to see Martinelli and Gyok early in the second. Also this geriatric Casemiro cunt getting the better of Timber makes my blood boil. Shape the fuck up gaaaah
I don’t know, maybe I expect more. No shot on target, too many touches also. Yeah, he did do some good things but not nearly enough and then faded.
I thought Saka was very good before the goal. No idea what happens when we take the lead, we just go into this shell. Every player except maybe Rice looked rattled after we scored, when we had started so well.
One positive is United are bad. They've done nothing of their own accord. All their openings have been unforced errors. But it won't mean much if we don't stop shitting all up ourselves.
He’s is very one sided. Need only look to see how Saka developed his game going right
This is deeper more than one-footedness, which is a patently more diplomatic, safe form of criticism.
It's borderline abrogation of duty from guy at times. Make yourself open and influence the game.
He's lucky that tame shot will register as an assist.
Gabby against Bournemouth was bad but it wasn't a big game. This here is one of the biggest games of the season and we do that? Absolutely sickening
We played a bit more positive
I want Arteta to ban this constant back passing to Raya.
Saka looked really good before the goal
I don’t know, maybe I expect more. No shot on target, too many touches also. Yeah, he did do some good things but not nearly enough and then faded.
We actually looked a better team two seasons ago
Much better, if only we didnt crack against Villa cunts
We actually looked a better team two seasons ago
Not for me
I'm mad at Saka too. Pissing away so many opportunities. The worst is when he has thr fullback isolated with a ton of space but backs up, waits till their defense is set and then tries to dribble past...
Honestly think Saka is massively neutered compared to previous seasons from a tactical perspective. We almost never play for him to cut in and run at goal anymore. Never gets into goal scoring positions. Bloke being asked to play like Stanley Matthews.
We actually looked a better team two seasons ago
STOP GIVING THE BALL AWAY
It is not the first time, but they were all a bit culpable at the back. The return pass from Saliba was short but Zubi had the forward pass back to him and opted to pass back.
Saka’s been poor, Jesus...
Saka looked really good before the goal
I think the captaincy discussion is a distraction. Rice is going to inspire and lead with or without the armbands.
The conversation needs to be about what Odegaard does or doesn't contribute as a foo...
It's certainly not attacking thrust... which is what you'd like from a creative player designated captain.
At least Big Gabi made amends for that
Hopefully Zubi will do the same
I think the captaincy discussion is a distraction. Rice is going to inspire and lead with or without the armbands.

I'm mad at Saka too. Pissing away so many opportunities. The worst is when he has thr fullback isolated with a ton of space but backs up, waits till their defense is set and then tries to dribble past his man. Why motherfucker why. Fucking playing for corners instead of being decisive
Lots of fairly ineffective possession. No real cutting edge.
When we attack we never seem to pass with rhythm. Always looks like the runners are out of sync with the player on the ball.
We've been absolutely shit since we scored
Hope it's a repeat of the Bournemouth match where we woke up in the second half and not the Liverpool match wherewe stunk the place out.
I think the captaincy discussion is a distraction. Rice is going to inspire and lead with or without the armbands.
The conversation needs to be about what Odegaard does or doesn't contribute as a footballer.
That goal was one of the worst brainfarts I've ever seen. Under absolutely no pressure, we contrived to give them a goal
Worse than Gabby's one.
It is not the first time, but they were all a bit culpable at the back. The return pass from Saliba was short but Zubi had the forward pass back to him and opted to pass back.
Saka’s been poor, Jesus...
indeed always a man of wisdom you are
Pretty happy with the performance until we give that horrible goal away.
-Trossard fucking about with the ball too much
-Jesus largely ineffective
Lots of fairly ineffective possession. No real cutting edge.
That goal was one of the worst brainfarts I've ever seen. Under absolutely no pressure, we contrived to give them a goal
Zubimendi has done this same mistake before. Too trigger happy with the one touch or return pass. Take a touch, look around, fucking twat
It is not the first time, but they were all a bit culpable at the back. The return pass from Saliba was short but Zubi had the forward pass back to him and opted to pass back.
Saka’s been poor, Jesus can’t get hold of the ball and Øde the usual, the one time he passed first time we scored. Bring on Gyökeres and Eze for Øde and Gabi.
Odegaard had a few good moments to be fair but yes too left foot heavy and too may touches
I'm not hugely fussed about the debate but Rice is visibly more qualified if we're all honest.
Absolutely
So it becomes a 45 minute game
Captain been a complete non contributor for 18 months. Club should be making a change there in the summer.
This form isn't a recent thing. He's basically a performative presser at this point.
He's not even masquerading as an 8. The amount of times I watched him drift between United players and close off avenues to receive the ball.
Fucking pathetic since going 1 up
We've been absolutely shit since we scored
Odegaard has a decision to make, does he want to lead this team or not
I'm not hugely fussed about the debate but Rice is visibly more qualified if we're all honest.
Pretty happy with the performance until we give that horrible goal away.

Just no confidence from Ode or Jesus, both hesitant and jumpy

Phew. We were pretty dominant till we scored, then we were visibly rattled.
Nervous after City and Villa both won well
Title challengers go and do the same, it's just frustrating to watch the same mistakes over and over and our luck will soon run out if we don't start playing some decent football.
Zubimendi has done this same mistake before. Too trigger happy with the one touch or return pass. Take a touch, look around, fucking twat
Odegaard has a decision to make, does he want to lead this team or not
the guy has been fucking shit for 18months
Odegaard has a decision to make, does he want to lead this team or not
Maybe it shouldn’t be his decision
Hope Arteta goes ballistic
Fucking kick their asses.. literally
Odegaard has a decision to make, does he want to lead this team or not
Shit
Threw away our advantage
Zubimendi needs a clip around the head for that bullshit.
Zero composure. Sometimes this team makes me want to box their teeth off. Fucking cunts
Hope Arteta goes ballistic
Just no confidence from Ode or Jesus, both hesitant and jumpy
great first half our number 8 has been unreal
Zero composure. Sometimes this team makes me want to box their teeth off. Fucking cunts
Did the same against Liverpool in the second half. Shit scared.
Keep giving them the ball…
Gabriel sent them the ball off two or three unpressured headers?
Shit from Trossard. We are losing the plot
The stat was 24 games we’ve scored first=24 wins. It’s not like we throw away leads very often
United aren't even doing anything. They're just their on the pitch and we're presenting them with ways in.
Keep giving them the ball…
United aren't even doing anything. They're just their on the pitch and we're presenting them with ways in.
We all know that Arsenal's worst enemy is Arsenal in these games.
That has to stick to Jesus
I can’t see what he’s bought to the attack this game. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Gyokores come out after half time
Just too bloody conservative when we get ahead. It's all this try and control the ball rather than keep pressing forward.
Yep. Invites errors because the team invariably retreats.
United aren't even doing anything. They're just their on the pitch and we're presenting them with ways in.
That has to stick to Jesus
Aye - awful. Need King Kai back ASAP
Just too bloody conservative when we get ahead. It's all this try and control the ball rather than keep pressing forward.
When did this squad become so lackadaisical and error prone, surely Arteta doesn't coach them to be like this.
Nervous after City and Villa both won well
That has to stick to Jesus
When did this squad become so lackadaisical and error prone, surely Arteta doesn't coach them to be like this.
Ode didn't need to foul Casemiro
This team certainly isn't wholly convincing. We should be double digits clear tbh.
Professional footballer ffs, how do you over hit a cross that badly?
We have defenders doing most of the crosses
We score a goal and then take the foot off the gas.
Professional footballer ffs, how do you over hit a cross that badly?
We're going to concede a second if we carry on like this
Are we trying to lose this game ffs
Zubimendi was bombscare at times against Milan midweek. Not without precedent.
I don’t think this is the game for Trossard. Lots of running needed
He was excellent earlier
Don’t think he brings what Zubi does going forward but don’t think Norgaard makes that mistake
Norgaard not even in squad
Love when we time waste on throws at 1-1
But we're obviously deliberately trying to tempt them on to us
What a wonderful idea that is.
Multiple chances to play it forward there. Combination of conservatism and poor concentration led to that.
I don't get it. Such a high risk with a very low reward move.
Zubi trying to make amends but try not fucking shit up like that in the first place
I don’t think this is the game for Trossard. Lots of running needed
We could have been behind with the multiple fuck ips - all with no fucking pressure
Multiple chances to play it forward there. Combination of conservatism and poor concentration led to that.
But we're obviously deliberately trying to tempt them on to us
Zubi gets no more excuses thats so many times he’s done that and it’s cost us. You can’t play at DM and do tha
Don’t think he brings what Zubi does going forward but don’t think Norgaard makes that mistake
Corporal Jones football since we scored
All of them are at fault for this shit sideways ball across the box.
Multiple chances to play it forward there. Combination of conservatism and poor concentration led to that.
We've been shit all game. Passive nonsense.
Zubi gets no more excuses thats so many times he’s done that and it’s cost us. You can’t play at DM and do tha
All of them are at fault for this shit sideways ball across the box.
I was just thinking- I dont like this strategy trying get manu to come forward... then
What the fuck happened since we scored
One mistake after another
The idiocy that set in after we went ahead.
Played like shite since
The idiocy that set in after we went ahead.
Not the first time from Zubimendi either.
Saka loves a goal against these degenerates
That was a weird clearance by Saka.
Rugby style
That was a weird clearance by Saka.
We were pretty dominant except for maybe the last 5 mins
Dominance without teeth.
Lovely to be winning but my word we've been toilet
We were pretty dominant except for maybe the last 5 mins
Lovely to be winning but my word we've been toilet
We were exceptional the first 25 to be fair
Actually looks like Timber scored the goal
Fuckers will get some fluky chances
Lovely to be winning but my word we've been toilet
Easter Island head falls over and gets a free kick
To be fair being that top heavy you're bound to fall over quite a lot
Disconcerted at the immediate sloppiness that has crept in.
It's a good point you now
Emi
The butcher
Lautaro
Always thought Roberto was a twat as well
Ode has played a couple of good balls forward. It was his ball into the box that led to the goal
Easter Island head falls over and gets a free kick
None of the angles look particularly conclusive... but I am fond of Owen.
Yep, they gave it to him. Player of the season so far 😂
That goal was scrappy as fuck but I'll take it
Only issue for me is it wasn't scrappy enough
I
That goal was scrappy as fuck but I'll take it
Not that scrappy- good switch and pullback
Think he means Cucurella which is weird?
That goal was scrappy as fuck but I'll take it
How is Timber the man up front there for that goal? I don’t get it. Does that mean Jesus is in midfield amd our midfielders are in defence?
Weird way to celebrate but you do you lol
Stamp on their throats if it's not too much trouble
How is Timber the man up front there for that goal? I don’t get it. Does that mean Jesus is in midfield amd our midfielders are in defence?
Timber is our wooden decoy.
Daliba's speed saved is there
Don't concede. Stay calm lads
How the fuck did Mbuemo find himself in that much space there.
Need to be careful.
We got excited and started attacking - forgot the defend first mantra - desgracia
How is Timber the man up front there for that goal? I don’t get it. Does that mean Jesus is in midfield amd our midfielders are in defence?
How the fuck did Mbuemo find himself in that much space there.
Need to be careful.
Not like you can miss his big fucking fat hole
Right let's cunt these fucks.
How the fuck did Mbuemo find himself in that much space there.
Need to be careful.
Fuck they almost got a counter
No millions down the drain
OG scores again
None of the angles look particularly conclusive... but I am fond of Owen.
Wet dream stuff. Hate that posturing little turd
YESSSS AN OG FROM THAT ARROGANT SHIT TWAT
THE BUTCHER
OG scores again. 60 million down the drain
YESSSS AN OG FROM THAT ARROGANT SHIT TWAT
Yup. How the fuck is Timber playing striker
THANK YOU MARTÍNEZZZZZ
You glorious ugly hairband wearing little manlet.
Nah Ødegaard, you need to do be doing more here.
We could do with Nwaneri running directly at these cunts...
Oh, wait..
We have Noni and Martinelli on the bench
We could do with Nwaneri running directly at these cunts...
Oh, wait..
Rice by far the best player out there at the moment.
Switched on his nitro boost there
Rice by far the best player out there at the moment.
And then Zubi
Rice sent the ball up. There was so much space but Hincapie stopped the momentum
Gotta ping a ball in there
Rice by far the best player out there at the moment.
Rice sent the ball up. There was so much space but Hincapie stopped the momentum
Do we deliberately wait for them to get back in position?
Was a good opportunity for Hincapie to run with the ball
Do we deliberately wait for them to get back in position?
Absolutely
Do we deliberately wait for them to get back in position?
Another frustrating display from the skipper
Weak by Odegaard outside of our penalty area
Ødegaard has done fuck all except lose the ball when we attempt to transition.
Odegaard cannot lose the ball there.
At least we're spending more time in their half
That was annoying, Saka should have continued his run through the middle instead of drifting wider
Keep at it, he'll get round the lump eventually.
Will take a while to circumnavigate
Hit Big Gabi shoulder didn't it
Saka getting no change out of Shaw so far.
Just permanently positioned between the edge of the box and the touchline. Don't remember the last time we saw him attacking the goal.
First quarter belongs to us. No threat whatsoever from United, but just one shot on goal for us.
Saka getting no change out of Shaw so far.
Keep at it, he'll get round the lump eventually.
Saka getting no change out of Shaw so far.
You think so? He has started on fire. Roaming all over the pitch
So good from Rice there. Dictionary definition of assured.
Aye, think it was nicely going towards far post without that touch
These cunts aren't getting the yellows they deserve. Who's the ref?
Chris McCausland
Saka getting no change out of Shaw so far.
Unlucky for Zubimendi, the ball brushed the defenders heads
So good from Rice there. Dictionary definition of assured.
Zubi got a mad leap for a sleight fella
Time that better and it's a goal.
These cunts aren't getting the yellows they deserve. Who's the ref?
Craig Pawson
You have to score that Zubimendi.
These cunts aren't getting the yellows they deserve. Who's the ref?
Asks a lot of our defensive players. Probably part of the reason we've seen a fair few injuries there.
It's so annoying. We seemed to have abandoned trying to find Saka in goal scoring positions but keep seeing Saliba and Timber arriving in centrally attacking positions. Just absolute nonsense.
Should have been second one of the match
Watch the rotational fouls until the ref shows a yellow
That was a slick move, needed a better pass from Saliba ( what is he doing there )
His defender instincts were not to play the tight pass along the edge of the 6 yard box, which is the ball he should’ve chosen!
This Saliba in the outside centre high up has to fucking stop jesus. Arteta always finding ways to get his defenders in advantageous positions on the ball high up the pitch but never his forwards.
Ab...
Asks a lot of our defensive players. Probably part of the reason we've seen a fair few injuries there.
Why is Saliba on the overlap so much at the moment
This Saliba in the outside centre high up has to fucking stop jesus. Arteta always finding ways to get his defenders in advantageous positions on the ball high up the pitch but never his forwards.
Absolutely infuriating
That was a slick move, needed a better pass from Saliba ( what is he doing there )
Should’ve got a shot on target out of that move at least!
Nice attacking play. Saliba with the overlap too 👍
Timber rapid.
I’ve been busy lately so not been on here this year but hope all are well!
Wotcha mate.
Still in China or have you returned to Blighty
Timber rapid.
I’ve been busy lately so not been on here this year but hope all are well!
Hello
Timber rapid.
I’ve been busy lately so not been on here this year but hope all are well!
Should be a yellow on Casemiro.
Yes
No attempt to get the ball
Trossard just refusing to pass there for some mystifying reason.
wanted to do an Ode 360
Should be a yellow on Casemiro.
Good work initially, though.
Trossard just refusing to pass there for some mystifying reason.
I'd rather Tross do that and win a corner than go back to the horseshoe.
Aye
I'd rather Tross do that and win a corner than go back to the horseshoe.
I doubt it was the current size.
I dunno
Poor by Saka. Barely kept that ball in too.
Wow casemiro...bet his mum said ouch giving birth to that head
I doubt it was the current size.
Think I'm most worried about is putting the game to bed when we establish a lead. Cannot become bivalves after we score.
Wow casemiro...bet his mum said ouch giving birth to that head
Haha
Wow casemiro...bet his mum said ouch giving birth to that head
Already Tross has decided to go back, instead of taking on his defender. Reverts to the backward and sideways ball.
“Arsenal have to win the quadruple this year. They have to win the La Liga and the Bundesliga, else it’s a failure.”
Heh
Hate playing these twats, more nervous than I usually get
Our recent record against them is good (they've tended to perform quite well against us too). Kind of mystified why there's still so much anxiety beyond the trappings of mutual hatred.
“Arsenal have to win the quadruple this year. They have to win the La Liga and the Bundesliga, else it’s a failure.”
The thing about playing Manure is that no matter how down in the dumps they may be like in recent seasons we hardly give them a proper thumping.
Hate playing these twats, more nervous than I usually get
I wish Trossard tried that cross first time
first horseshoe completed.
Failure to win would be very annoying. A loss would be utterly infuriating.
Bit mad really considering where we are in the PL and CL, and who Manure are these days. One win over Citeh and everyone's nervous, the brains trust of Schmeichel Stam and Cole are "united" in one thi...
Don't think there's any need to be nervous beyond inherent grudge match tension.
Bit mad really considering where we are in the PL and CL, and who Manure are these days. One win over Citeh and everyone's nervous, the brains trust of Schmeichel Stam and Cole are "united" in one thing, Manure won't lose. Pick 2 draws and a win (Stam), away.
Good point. Odegaard has to step up and be decisive.
Recent wins against Villa and Chelsea qualify for big performances in pressure games, Swiss, with Bayern and Atleti also good examples.
Yes, they were, Bassman, but Yanited at home, after two disappointing and frankly flat performances, this is one where it really matters, especially with the other results this weekend. We got lucky last weekend with the other results.
Recent wins against Villa and Chelsea qualify for big performances in pressure games, Swiss, with Bayern and Atleti also good examples.
Yeah we obviously need to keep doing it but the narrative we haven’t is blatantly false. We were head and shoulders above our competitors over the holiday fixtures.
Hola everyone...32'c outside already 8(
Recent wins against Villa and Chelsea qualify for big performances in pressure games, Swiss, with Bayern and Atleti also good examples.
The performances against Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool (at home) do not, though.
Now that we've established a bit of a gap (which is obviously great), we need to maintain it.
Time for this Arsenal team to deliver a big performance when the pressure is really on and get the win. United are a strong side and will definitely be up for it. COYGs!
Recent wins against Villa and Chelsea qualify for big performances in pressure games, Swiss, with Bayern and Atleti also good examples.
FFS Roy Keane at it again, Arsenal "expected to win the league". You can see the narrative being built up yet again.
lol they just ran a crazy stat on the broadcast. Havertz, Jesus and Gyok combined goals over 25 games vs United is one solitary goal
Ouch! 😭
Aye true
I don't really like timber at lb anyway
Inverting into midfield doesn't suit him and nullifies many of his strengths. I'm okay with using him in that way in a pinch but that's all, emergencies only.
Congratulations to all the new grandparents and grandparents to be on the Arses.
Absolutely G-Floyd, it should be all guns blazing from the kick off. Come on You Gunners!
He may play it safe to start or he may not lol. Hard to say. United obviously a very dangerous transition team but certainly a backline we can get at.
Couldn't agree more. None of this slow horseshoe football today please. Quick passing early crossing and shots from the edge of the box.
I think Arteta likes to keep the shape all the time because we dont have good pace and strength in midfield compared to other sides to retrieve possesion when it breaks down.
Which is a shame because with the talent we have we have we can cause problems for any team.
Couldn't agree more. None of this slow horseshoe football today please. Quick passing early crossing and shots from the edge of the box.
Absolutely G-Floyd, it should be all guns blazing from the kick off. Come on You Gunners!
Horseshoe is coming, make your peace with it.
Time for this Arsenal team to deliver a big performance when the pressure is really on and get the win. United are a strong side and will definitely be up for it. COYGs!

Probably heading over for the Viaplay Super Sunday shite. Schmeichel and Jaap Stam will be there, unapologetically all in on United, Ljungberg will be anything but sticking up for Arsenal in response....
Fuck me, Ljundberg's not even there nor Petit. It's Schmeichel, Stamford and Andy Cole. Not biased at all.
lol they just ran a crazy stat on the broadcast. Havertz, Jesus and Gyok combined goals over 25 games vs United is one solitary goal

WiClass.
Congrats Mrs.
Enjoy the game all.
Sal and Ollie - hope you have celebratory beers to drink post-match!
They just won't go away will they!
Just seen their level with City. I shouldn’t underplay Villa’s run. We drop points it starts to look like a three-horse race. Pressure!
It helps if there is space for the forwards to play into for him
When he’s on it, he finds the angles
Havertz not in the lineup today
I think this team needs to prove that it can consolidate its position without relying on the fumbles of others.
This
I think if we score first, we're going to beat them today
They just won't go away will they!
Like a persistent dose of the clap …..
allegedly
Perhaps but he's a very good manager nonetheless.
Not a weekend to drop points, not that any of them are these days but just feels doubly important
I think this team needs to prove that it can consolidate its position without relying on the fumbles of others.
He’s good enough to make space. He has to be more direct.

Villa definitely finishing in the top 4. However you feel about him, Emery's doing an excellent job there.
His level.

Hopefully there’ll be some room for him to play in

Aye true
I don't really like timber at lb anyway
Agreed
Timber would go to left back and Benny Blanco would be right back

Was looking forward to a Gyokeres vs Sesko match up as well but it's Jesus starting. Perhaps later in the game then..
Good point. Looks balanced back there. A lot depends on how Ødegaard.
Hopefully there’ll be some room for him to play in
It's the 'Mike Derby'
Mikel vs Michael
Let's hope the latter's New Manager Bounce ran out after the last game.
Good point. Looks balanced back there. A lot depends on how Ødegaard.
… plays
He does have Amad to deal with, the kid is a tricky customer
On his day he looks like a world class player.
I’m sure Arteta has already emphasized this but we need to match aggression and energy today
The worst thing about these fixtures is also the liminal 1 hour period before KO. Want it to start naow.
That dorgu is a handful. Happy that timber goes back to his position
Good point. Looks balanced back there. A lot depends on how Ødegaard.
more that Hincapie is fresh back from injury so not sure if he's fit enough to start against ManU. Not saying I don't think he'll do well

Hincapié I had a feeling it would be him. I like him for this one. Has some bite. Jesus starts. No Calafiori or Havertz on the bench but still so strong. COYG!!!

Pretty sure they meant in the line-up, hincapie for timber, timber for white
Probably thinking Timber at LB and Ben at RB
not sure about Hincapie over White?
At left back?
not sure about Hincapie over White?
That dorgu is a handful. Happy that timber goes back to his position
Exact team I'd have picked
You’re next in line for the job
I'm good with it, keep Benny fresh rather than break him. Would really like to see Cala back sharpish, though.
not sure about Hincapie over White?
You’re not alone in that but we don’t know the fitness levels
not sure about Hincapie over White?
Hincapie plays in his usual position, whereas White were out of his?
Exact team I'd have picked
not sure about Hincapie over White?
Arsenal XI vs Manchester United: Raya, Timber, Gabriel, Saliba, Hincapie, Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Saka, Trossard, Jesus
Exact team I'd have picked
I remember old Trafford 2004. It's nowhere near enough revenge
October 24th, a day that will live in infamy.
If we have any plans to sign Anthony Gordon, drop them.
Arsenal XI vs Manchester United: Raya, Timber, Gabriel, Saliba, Hincapie, Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Saka, Trossard, Jesus
Is Wolfgang Crouch playing
All three away teams winning.
Hope that's not a trend for today
Yeah we're won 5 drew 1 of the last 6 league meetings, we've had a decent enough 'revenge' by now.

Shouldn't fear them but will also definitely need to be switched on defensively.
Nervous, but we’re long overdue a big win against this mob. I know it’s a pipe dream but can Mik and the boys deliver a massive long awaited revenge for the 8-2 or 6-1 of yesteryear, please 🙏 🏆

We beat them 3-0 with Ozil and Alexis a decade ago. Close enough.
Put a marker down early doors, someone put the reducer on Bruno and go through him like a rat curry
All three away teams winning.
Chelsea are cunts.....
Just saying like
Chelsea DNA 😏

How the fuck is that not a yellow for dirty Joel Inton. Eddie Howe breeds shitstains.
Now gets a yellow for stamping on Onana.
Spotted Emmanuel Petit as I was leaving the lounge.
Probably heading over for the Viaplay Super Sunday shite. Schmeichel and Jaap Stam will be there, unapologetically all in on United, Ljungberg will be anything but sticking up for Arsenal in response. Feeble twit. Petit has started saying "we" at least, when he's invited as I suspect he'll be today.
And congratulations mark and hfb' sis.
Enjoy the game attendees.

Shin kicker Caicedo at it again. Such a dirty bunch are Chelsea.
Arse!
Well in, class! Be lucky
Congratulations mrs!
Come on Arsenal, destroy those soggy shitstains today, they have it coming.
The one leg league format and then the removal of away goals benefit in the later stages has probably done much to change attitudes
Yeah. On the PL side - to my surprise - the last two seasons produced record goals totals. And this season seems on track for 1000+ goals as well. I assumed the PL's become more conservative, but those are tough numbers to argue against.
Plenty of Sport to watch today to keep you in the warm
Thank you - but where on earth are you for it to be so cold ? A tad warmer here but still horridly damp.
New York - and snowing
"It could feel more like a Champions League game than a typical Premier League encounter."
It's interesting that the CL used to be the more cagey "tactical" competition and now it's flipped.

Definitely would love a statement win, but I'd be more than happy with 3 points from a very messy goal by Owen.

With a little wink and a knowing “that one’s for you, Arsene” from Mik in the post match interview… I mean, can you imagine how amazing that would feel?
#2 son’s b’day on Friday. Almost a snap
will put my pills out before I read the blog - was too tired after an exciting day welcoming new grandson into the world yesterday.

What Hazza said just before he fucked off
Back in Manchester. Going to pub later. In an Arsenal top. They don't beat up people in their 50s, right?
No, unless your bald.
Just make sure you don't go in any pub if you're bald with a beard.
My ex, Stitch, whom some of you will know, drove me to the hospital to see the babe yesterday and I was amazed at how enchanted he was, much more so than with his own 3 when they were babes !
Congrats on your new arrival Nonna Woo 🙏🏼☺️
Congratulations! You love your kids, but nothing prepares you for how much you will love your grandbebes x

Because you can hand them back when you want to get some sleep?
Arse,
Well done to everyone that has wonderful things going on.
I hope those attending today see us win.
Is it daft this game has given me two sleepless nights? We are better than them but still hiding behind the sofa.

Manu played very open and free flowing against City and there's no reason they won't do that against us. That could play into our hands... coyg
See you all later on. Game is at 3am for me!

Safe travels. Enjoy the win
Fingers crossed.
Maybe try Tollington, but it will be packed pre-game!@
Yeah I say that’s a good choice, just don’t go there more than 20 min before kick-off.
Spotted Emmanuel Petit as I was leaving the lounge.
From a tiny little village in Austria to visit relatives in London - but of course timed it with a home game to make the weekend count.

Nervous here too. Sitting (or standing…) near the away fans today too. Banter ahoy.

Well in class, be lucky 🍀
The only person who can get Martin Ødegaard to operate further forward is the captain himself. If he starts to faff around in his own half we'll be wasting a position.

This is a tough one. I'm nervous cos it's Man Utd and they have their tails up and they always want to beat us. Another draw is no good, we have to win. I can see an argument for either Gyökeres or Jesus. I'm gonna have to trust Arteta on this one, his decisions will be key and I think whoever's picked will be focused and hopefully in the zone!
Come on!!!
