From my understanding Cole and Noni are good friends and go way back so I think in that circumstance he was just being a pantomime villain and egging the home crowd on with a wink.

With Enzo and Cucu...
Maybe I’ve got my Arsenal specs on, but I think it was nastier than anything we do. Gabriel is full fire but I don’t think he’d do something as outright nasty as that. Even HincapiĂ© when he made that great tackle and squared up to whoever it was, did so with half a smirk and it was more macho pride making a great tackle than nasty afters after a nasty foul. As I said, United, Newcastle, they do it too. I love passion and fire, love team-mates backing each other. But snidey fouls and deliberate provocation is something else and we don’t do that and I’m glad we don’t.

With Enzo and Cucurella both kicking Madueke and gloating in his face... not sure there was more to it or not. But I don't mind that kind of "us against them" team spirit.

I didn't mind the aggression overall but I did take exception to all of the playacting trying to get our players a second yellow.

I think it’s a bit more than lacking discipline. There’s a nastiness that he and a few other Chelsea players have that Arsenal players don’t have. I’ll be honest, some of our players dive sometimes, and once or twice I’ve seen a bit of play-acting. But nasty attitudes go with certain clubs, Chelsea and United for sure, Newcastle and Stoke of yore. There’s a clip of Enzo Fernandez kicking Madueke and practically spitting venom at him right after. Why would you do that to an ex-team-mate? Was it something he said maybe in the past that Madueke objected to? đŸ€” Whatever, then on top of it, Cole Palmer on the touchline turns to the crowd and winks. I mean fuck them all. I can’t wait to get them back at the Emirates with Saliba and Gabriel back. Try that shit again you mugs. The players there are perfectly suited to that club. They may be Champions League and been past winners but they will never have the class of Arsenal and what’s more they know it and it fucks with them hence the reaction in the match and from the fans.

It's like a free hit because it's so early. And it's 100% deliberate too, targetting a young defender.
I knew there was going to be a red card in this game, the moment he let that initial flattening of Mosquera play on without a freekick. Was surprised it was for Caicedo and not an Arsenal player tbh.

There was a moment in the first half, can't remember which Chav cunt was feigning injury and which Arsenal player had been carded, where Arteta called Merino over and it looked like he was gesticulating "calm down" while talking to him.

I don't mind teams being dirty, but it's the snide, cowardly attempt to injure an opponent and then pretend that you are the one who's been wronged. It is pathetic, and I would like to think embarrassing, but then Caciedo and Cucerella don't strike me as individuals who give two shits as to how they are perceived.

The ends justify the means.

But that lanky bald bastard of a ref should really not be allowed to ref us again. The shit he was willing to tolerate from Chelsea players, pushing people over in front of him, barging into others off the ball, whilst giving us a card for the slightest of infringements.

Very reminiscent of the old Wenger days, teams were allowed to brutalise us, and not only did the refs and wider footballing establishment allow it, if not outright condone it, but they would also punish our players for the merest of things.

I can nearly break your leg, which is fine, but if you wave your arms, it's a yellow.

They also haven't played any decent teams away, so I thik there are plenty of games they will lose as they are simply not good enough.

Finally, even if we knew yesterday morning that we weren't going to lose any more games, but that we may draw some, Chelsea away would be one you'd take a point at, even if today, it feels like we missed an opportunity, as it did against Man City, Liverpool and Sunderland.

Also, I think he did the right thing showing a yellow first, easier to upgrade to a red after review.

I'm guessing at full speed, Taylor wouldn't have seen the nasty impact of the challenge. Plus apparently, the VAR was telling Taylor that Cuntceido was faking the injury...

Think you have to give Chelsea more credit than just playing with more aggression and bite. They were very organized and front footed- played very vertical and committed men forward looking to transition as quickly as possible.

Part of my frustration is that because they were so aggressive to get forward they were there for the taking if we showed more composure and quality with the ball. They are a quick and agile bunch- it's tough to be on the receiving end of being monstered when we usually do that to others regularly.

I just want our main players to rest a bit and not get injured given the sheer number of games that we have this month. Not sure how this has been interpreted as a lack of composure in terms of reaction. Rice and Saka have played almost every game along with Timber. Our bench players also need to develop some rhythm because if they are suddenly brought on (like Hincapie and Mosquera), it will take for them to adapt.

Probably none were dubious like Rice, Tross, MLS last season.

I wouldn't be into this level of rotation at all, to be honest. Brentford are no pushovers, and while I didn't get to watch the whole game I wasn't super enamoured by what I saw of Martinelli, Madueke or MLS in particular. Even Ode gave me some shudders with his mass of little touches before releasing the ball. If we already have the fairly raw CB pairing on the field, I wouldn't want to stray much further away from the usual suspects. Hopefully Tross is ready to come back in on the left, for starters.

Been to Chelsea, Liverpool, United, played City and Spurs. Six games to build on/maintain this distance and get the strikers fit.

Baffled by some tired chat going around but it happens everytime we play badly because its more fun than...well, we played badly. It (was) november, we're days out from rinsing Bayern Munich and we are rotating, even if by force rather than choice so far.

Hello all. Thinking about yesterday's result...I was hoping Chelsea would lose but these things don't always go in our favor. What we really should do is rest some players and give others an opportunity for the mid week game. Start Norgard, Madueke, Nwaneri, Odegaard (if fit), Gyokeres and Jesus (alternate the mins between the two), Martinelli. Give MLS a chance to regain his confidence , give Mosquera more minutes (he still needs to develop more especially his ability to win aerial duels).... Is Ben White still there?
We need to rest Rice, Saka, Timber, Calafiori, even Eze to an extent
