I don’t think we were getting anything like the best from Eze through the middle so a spell on the left would be interesting. As good as Trossard has been just recently it doesn’t mean Eze cant be better.

MLS gives us something different from Calafiori and Hincapié. I will be very disappointed if he goes on loan. He has a chance to sacrifice and England squad place for being part of Arsenal glory. I have no doubt he will continue to play a part if he decides to stay and I bet that Tuchel will not be able to leave him out of the squad.

Just seen Eze's goal and how various commentators now realising Eze from the left can work. I have been saying that from the moment he arrived. When Eze, Gyökeres, Ødegaard and Saka get a run together (please football gods make it happen), we are going to see our attack finally click.

MLS, maybe you could make a case for. We've got Calafiori, Hincapie, and in a pinch, Mosquera or White we could play there. Plus Zubi and maybe Norgaard ahead of him in midfield.
On the women's side, clearly we're pretty dependent on Leah. But we still played well in the first half against Bayern and not too bad against Chelsea.
But things need to improve generally after Leah returns. If she doesn't it's not going to take too long for the goodwill bank Renee has to get pretty thin.

Having said that, it's clear how reliant the team is on Williamson and the inability to fashion something new is worrying. And after that fabulous first game it seems that Smith has dipped considerably. Just two of several issues to consider.

About the women's game last night: There’s a lot of talk in the comments about Renée leaving or being sacked. Before those things are considered, I want to see if she learns from this. Last season she played to a formula, and it worked. This season it’s not working so much, but she seems to be sticking to it rigidly. One part is that she plays Russo up front with Maanum in the 10, then swaps it out to Blackstenius up front with Russo slipping back into the 10, or vice versa. Second part is that Mead and Foord on the wings can be exchanged with Smith and Kelly. This leaves one substitute, Hinds on for McCabe. It just seems that all these changes are pre-determined.

After winning the Euro Champions League, Renée has some goodwill left. We need to find out whether she can adapt, or, like Slot with Liverpool men, was just good for tweaking someone else’s team, for a temporary period. For this season, she has the benefit of the doubt.

Remember we lost to both Bayern Munich and Lyon in last season’s competition, so all is not lost yet.

If we're serious abut winning the league and challenging for domestic and European cups, we absolutely, categorically do not let Myles or Nwaneri go on loan in January. I realise it might affect their chances of internationals, but they're young and have plenty of time to get in future squads. And while they may understandably be upset at not getting playing time, that's because they have more experienced players ahead of them and that will be the case in the national squad. Arsenal pay their wages, and I'm sure they will make a significant contribution to the title push. And Tuchel can do one quite frankly. He may well have to reconsider come March or April when both players will likely show their worth.
