Heh. OK fair enough, the clean sheet thing is quite galvanising for the team. After further consideration I'd prefer GX34 to score them against our rivals. Fair, but he wasn't much better shielding Koscielny, Monreal and Bellerin. And we know other more attack-minded midfielders - Arteta, Cazorla - who adapted their games to play the deeper position.

As we discovered, it wasn't really his best position, and I'd also so it's a lot to ask of any midfielder to shield a defence with useless cunts like Luiz, Mustafi, Kolasinac and Sokratis in it.

I spent the first few weeks of Xhaka's return to the Prem convincing the one Sunderland fan I know who was livid Xhaka had come to his team of his leadership qualities and how he would be an asset to the club. He's now grudgingly beginning to admit Xhaka's worth.
I said a lot of angry things about Xhaka in his early impetuous days, as I did about Wenger in his last days and Arteta as well. The All Or Nothing doc changed a lot for me, especially about Arteta and Xhaka. I can find Arteta's visual-kinetic explanations amusing, but there's no doubt they click with 20-something elite athletes,
Also Oxlade-Chamberlain saying in a recent interview that it was Arteta in his playing days who first brought structure to team analysis and getting videos of opposing teams to analyse which apparently Wenger didn't do.
